Sun Sep 20 201511:36Kirkpatrick (calf) active for Sunday's game against Chargers
Kirkpatrick (calf) is active for Sunday's game against the Chargers.
Cincinnati's starting corner practiced in full all week and should be good to go for this battle with Philip Rivers and company.
Sun Jun 21 201523:01Kirkpatrick favorite to start at left cornerback
Kirkpatrick is the favorite to start at left cornerback, ESPN.com's Coley Harvey reports.
The Bengals have a pretty deep cornerback group that also includes Leon Hall, Adam Jones and 2014 first-round pick Darqueze Dennard. Kirkpatrick, a former first-rounder (2012) himself, will probably need to perform well during training camp and the preseason to hold on to the starting job. Even if that happens, he's unlikely to emerge as a useful IDP.

Kirkpatrick played 41 snaps in his first start of the season against the Browns on Sunday, getting his first interception of the year, ESPN.com reports.
Kirkpatrick isn't going to be a major fantasy producer, given how infrequently he's involved in stopping the running game. He was stepping in for the injured Terence Newman, and the 2012 first-round pick is generally becoming a more important part of the secondary.
Mon Sep 16 201323:26Dre Kirkpatrick strains hamstring in Week 2
Bengals CB Dre Kirkpatrick left Monday night's Week 2 tilt against the Steelers with a strained hamstring and is done for the night.
Kirkpatrick, the No. 17 overall pick in last year's draft, has mostly been limited to special teams through the first two weeks. He's behind Leon Hall, Adam Jones, and Terence Newman on the cornerback depth chart.

Sun Jul 21 201311:22Dre Kirkpatrick to enter season as backup
Bengals 2012 first-round pick Dre Kirkpatrick is not expected to enter the season as a starter.
The Bengals re-signed Terence Newman and Pacman Jones, and Bengals.com considers them "entrenched" in Cincinnati's top three corners behind Leon Hall. An injury-prone disappointment to this point in his brief career, Kirkpatrick would need 35-year-old Newman's play or body to break down to earn major playing time.

Wed May 15 201319:08Dre Kirkpatrick sidelined until camp
Bengals second-year CB Dre Kirkpatrick (knee) will he held out of team drills until training camp.
Kirkpatrick's rookie year was washed out by injuries, as he fractured a knee bone last July, experienced tendinitis, suffered a Week 13 concussion, and underwent knee surgery in January. The Bengals are going to take it easy on Kirkpatrick, but he's so far done nothing to quiet the notion that Alabama players are consistently "banged up" upon NFL entry. With Terence Newman back, Kirkpatrick will need a big (and healthy) training camp to win a starting job.

Mon Jan 14 201310:35Bengals CB Kirkpatrick has another surgery
Bengals CB Dre Kirkpatrick said he was undergoing another knee procedure last Friday.
Kirkpatrick missed the bulk of his rookie season with a bone spur in his knee. The Bengals placed him on injured reserve in late December due to irritation in the same knee. "Indications" are that this surgery is a cleanup procedure as opposed to a major surgery.

Tue Dec 25 201217:00Bengals place rookie CB Kirkpatrick on I.R.
Bengals placed first-round rookie CB Dre Kirkpatrick (knee) on season-ending injured reserve.
The move was made to make room for WR Dane Sanzenbacher, who was claimed off waivers from the Bears. After being the No. 17 overall pick in the draft, Kirkpatrick played in just five games, notching four tackles. He should return as a starter in 2013 with Nate Clements, Pacman Jones, and Terence Newman scheduled to become unrestricted free agents in the offseason.

Bengals CB Dre Kirkpatrick (knee) is expected to make his debut against the Broncos in Week 9.
Kirkpatrick injured his knee all the way back in July but has been practicing for the past three weeks. The first-round pick is working with the first-team defense in practice, so he could take the left corner spot from Terence Newman. Beat writer Joe Reedy says it "remains to be seen" just how much Kirkpatrick would play in his debut, though.

The first-round pick has been working with the first-team defense in practice, but beat writer Joe Reedy doesn't expect him to play until Week 9 against the Broncos. Cincinnati has a Week 8 bye. Terence Newman will continue to start opposite Leon Hall.

Fri Oct 12 201215:00Kirkpatrick practices fully second day in row
Bengals CB Dre Kirkpatrick (knee, questionable) was a full participant in Friday's practice.
Kirkpatrick has put together back-to-back full practices and is making progress towards playing in his first NFL game. The first-round pick was cleared to practice last week, but it has taken some time for him to get into game shape. Kirkpatrick has been working with the first-team defense and could replace Terence Newman in the starting lineup.

Tue Oct 2 201210:48Dre Kirkpatrick cleared for practice
Bengals CB Dre Kirkpatrick (knee) has been cleared to practice.
Kirkpatrick hinted that he doesn't expect to play in Sunday's game against the Dolphins because he needs to get back in game shape. But the rookie's NFL debut is coming soon. The Bengals' secondary has predictably struggled without Kirkpatrick and Leon Hall (hamstring), ranking 16th against the pass through four weeks.

Fri Sep 21 201214:01Dre Kirkpatrick out until at least late Oct.
Bengals first-round pick Dre Kirkpatrick (knee) is out until at least after the team's October 28 bye.
Kirkpatrick suffered a late-preseason setback and is still in the rehab phase. Meanwhile, Cincinnati's pass defense has been torched in back-to-back weeks by Joe Flacco and previously overwhelmed Browns rookie Brandon Weeden.

Mon Sep 3 201219:35Dre Kirkpatrick to rehab for 2 more weeks
Bengals first-round pick Dre Kirkpatrick (knee) won't resume practicing for another two weeks.
After suffering a setback late in the preseason, Kirkpatrick needs two more weeks of rehab before he can get back onto the field. The Bengals continue to look awfully shaky in the secondary and will surely need help from their front four in order to play solid pass defense. We're liking Joe Flacco as a sneaky low-end QB1 on Monday night. Torrey Smith should be locked into fantasy lineups.

Tue Aug 28 201210:22Dre Kirkpatrick may not play Thursday
Bengals rookie CB Dre Kirkpatrick may not make his preseason debut in Thursday's finale after feeling soreness in his left knee on Monday.
"We're still looking at him," coach Marvin Lewis said. "He had some soreness in the knee yesterday and we just want to make sure. We've got a lot of time, so just keep working with him." Kirkpatrick still sounds like he'll be fine for Week 1, but admittedly raw after "never" backpedalling in college, it's a concern that he'll enter the regular season with zero live reps.

Sun Aug 19 201216:10Dre Kirkpatrick medically cleared, practicing
Rookie CB Dre Kirkpatrick has been medically cleared to return from his knee injury and resumed practicing at Bengals camp.
NFL Network reported in late July that Kirkpatrick would miss 4-6 weeks with a fractured knee bone. Later reports were more optimistic, and Kirkpatrick wound up missing just over three weeks of training camp. While Kirkpatrick seems unlikely to earn a Week 1 starting job, he now has a good chance to be an early-season contributor. It's very positive news for Cincinnati's secondary.

Sat Aug 18 201212:47Dre Kirkpatrick conducts 'vigorous workout'
Bengals rookie CB Dre Kirkpatrick (knee) conducted a "vigorous workout" before Thursday's preseason game.
The No. 17 pick remains on the camp/PUP list, but it sounds like he could be ready for Cincinnati's preseason finale on August 30. Originally pegged as a Week 1 starter, Kirkpatrick will likely be limited to nickel and dime duties early in the regular season.
