Thu Mar 6 201411:43Vinny Curry still a trade candidate
Beat writer Sheil Kapadia sensed that the coaching staff doesn't see Vinny Curry as a great fit.
Remember that the Eagles reportedly fielded calls on Curry at last year's trading deadline. It's very possible that he'll be available again ahead of the draft, and some 4-3 teams should come calling. Curry is under contract cheaply through 2015, is just 25 years old and has produced when given opportunities. He posted four sacks and 22 quarterback hurries on just 337 snaps in 2013.

Tue Oct 29 201312:15Report: Eagles taking calls on Vinny Curry
The Eagles are reportedly fielding trade calls on DE Vinny Curry.
Teams are reaching out to the Eagles because they've seen how DC Billy Davis has underutilized the 2012 second-round pick. In just 102 snaps this year, Curry has two sacks and nine quarterback hurries. The Eagles would be wise to get him on the field more, not trade him away.

Eagles DE Vinny Curry is active for Week 3 against the Chiefs.
The oft-discussed former second-round pick had been a healthy scratch for the Eagles' first two games. Inactive for the Eagles are QB Matt Barkley, TE Emil Igwenagu, OT Dennis Kelly, OG Matt Tobin, CB Roc Carmichael, CB Jordan Poyer and DL Damion Square.

Eagles declared DE Vinny Curry, QB Matt Barkley, TE Emil Igwenagu, OT Dennis Kelly, OG Matt Tobin and CB Shaun Prater inactive for Week 1 against the Redskins.
Curry's deactivation comes after he spent much of camp with the second- and third-team defenses. Barkley could be inactive all 16 games this season depending on the health of Michael Vick.

Fri Jul 26 201310:01Eagles using Vinny Curry at defensive end
The Philadelphia Inquirer reports the Eagles will use Vinny Curry strictly at defensive end.
With the Eagles moving to a 3-4 defense, Curry added weight this offseason and is not expected to be asked to play outside linebacker. "Vinny was drafted here as a defensive lineman," position coach Jeff Azzinaro said. "That's what he's doing. He's playing defensive end."

Mon Jul 15 201309:22'At least a chance' Curry doesn't make team?
Philly Mag: Birds 24/7 believes there's "at least a chance" Eagles DE Vinny Curry doesn't make the 53-man roster.
A 2012 second-rounder, Curry has bulked up from 266 pounds to the high 280s as he makes the switch from outside linebacker. As reporter Sheil Kapadia points out, Curry is already on his third defensive line coach despite having played just 89 career snaps. Curry ran mostly with the second team in OTAs. It would be surprising to see the Eagles cut bait on a second-round pick after just one season, but nothing can be taken for granted under new head coach Chip Kelly. Curry needs to have a strong camp.

Sat Jun 1 201309:18Vinny Curry used in multiple roles for Eagles
Eagles DE Vinny Curry was used in multiple roles including as an edge rusher during OTAs.
In an interview with the Philadelphia Inquirer, Curry said that although the Eagles defense has principles of a 3-4 scheme, it's not exclusively a three-man front. Curry weighed in at 266 pounds at the NFL Combine in February of 2012. He has since added more than 20 pounds to his frame. While it's looking likely he'll have a role in the Eagles' multiple front defense, Curry is still off the IDP radar.

Thu Apr 25 201309:42Vinny Curry on the trade block during draft
The Philadelphia Inquirer expects DE/OLB Vinny Curry to be on the trade block during the draft.
Curry was drafted in the second round last year to 4-3, edge-rushing defensive end. Now that the Eagles are shifting to a 3-4, there's been whispers that his roster spot isn't safe. Beat writer Jeff McLane says GM Howie Roseman would likely want a mid-round pick for Curry.

Sat Apr 20 201320:07Vinny Curry hoping for bigger role in 2013
Vinny Curry lined up at outside linebacker during the Eagles' pre-draft minicamp.
Curry is getting some looks as a pass rush specialist behind Trent Cole, but is expected to be mostly a five-technique in the Eagles' 3-4 defense. The 59th overall pick in last April's draft, Curry will enter 2013 in the mix for a starting job opposite Fletcher Cox .

Tue Apr 2 201313:25Vinny Curry bulks up to 274 pounds
Eagles DE Vinny Curry has bulked up to 274 pounds as he prepares to play defensive end in Philly's new 3-4 defense.
Curry weighed 266 at the 2012 Scouting Combine. He may want to approach the 290s before the season. The 59th pick last April's draft, Curry played under 100 snaps as a rookie and didn't play at all until Week 12, as it was becoming clear the Eagles' season was over. Philadelphia is still holding out hope of getting some impact from Curry. They need a starter opposite Fletcher Cox.

Wed Mar 27 201309:05Vinny Curry no lock to make Eagles' roster
Eagles OLB Vinny Curry reportedly "has a long way to go" before he's assured of a roster spot.
Trent Cole, Connor Barwin and Brandon Graham are all well ahead of Curry, a 2012 second-round pick that was active for just six games last year. The Eagles' interest in free agent OLB Victor Butler certainly doesn't bode well either. The new regime may see Curry as strictly the 4-3 end he was drafted as.

Wed Mar 6 201315:56Vinny Curry prepares for switch to linebacker
Eagles 2012 second-round pick Vinny Curry is preparing to play outside linebacker in the team's new 3-4.
Curry isn't dropping weight from his 270-pound frame, but he's working on coverage drops and pass rushing from a two-point stance. As a rookie, Curry managed just nine tackles and no sacks in under 100 snaps. He'll compete to be the Eagles' No. 3 rush linebacker behind Brandon Graham and Trent Cole.

Wed Nov 21 201208:46Report: Vinny Curry will be active
A source tells the Philadelphia Inquirer that rookie DE Vinny Curry will be active for Monday's game against the Panthers.
Curry, the No. 59 overall pick in the draft, has been a healthy scratch in every game this year. Trent Cole, Jason Babin, Brandon Graham and Daryl Tapp have all played ahead of him. "I'm pretty sure the fans want to know where their [second-round] pick's at," Curry said last week. "I'm wondering the same thing. But it's damn sure not a talent issue. They have their guys set already." Now at 3-7, the Eagles have nothing to lose by seeing what Curry has on gamedays.

Mon Nov 19 201208:56Vinny Curry a healthy scratch yet again
Eagles second-round rookie DE Vinny Curry has been a healthy scratch in all 10 games this season.
Curry must be truly awful at practice. Starting defensive ends Jason Babin and Trent Cole have combined for just six sacks and the Eagles' season is in the toilet. Now that they're 3-7, perhaps they actually try to get the No. 59 overall pick some in-game experience.

Thu Oct 11 201208:57Vinny Curry hasn't been active all season
Eagles second-round rookie DE Vinny Curry has been a healthy scratch in all five games this season.
Coach Andy Reid says Curry is "doing well," but the Eagles are just too deep at defensive end. Trent Cole, Jason Babin, Brandon Graham, Phillip Hunt and Darryl Tapp have six of the team's seven sacks this season.
