Walker (leg) is having surgery to repair a broken fibula, and he will be placed on injured reserve, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports.
Walker and Haloti Ngata (calf), the Lions' starting defensive tackles, both suffered injuries during Monday's loss to the Seahawks. Ngata's injury doesn't appear nearly as serious, so the Lions may only need to replace one starter. Caraun Reid and Gabe Wright figure to see more snaps.

Walker remains atop the team's depth chart, the team's official site reports.
Walker and second-year tackle Caraun Reid have been the Lions' starters for much of the preseason, but Reid moved to the second-team after Haloti Ngata's came off of the non-football injury list. Walker has impressed in camp, but Reid's high ankle sprain may have sealed the deal. Though Walker may get more snaps, expect both Walker and Reid to get plenty of opportunities to provide interior pressure with Ngata eating up blockers.

Walker was signed by the Lions on Thursday, Tim Twentyman of DetroitLions.com reports.
Walker is in line to make $1.75 million during his first year in Detroit. He played in all 16 games for the Saints last season and will face the tough task of replacing Ndamukong Suh on Detroit's defensive line.
Sun Sep 8 201314:31Saints rookie DE Tyrunn Walker carted off
Saints DE Tyrunn Walker was carted to the locker room with a left leg injury in the second quarter of Sunday's game against the Falcons.
The second-year undrafted free agent limped off the field, but had to be carted once he reached the sideline. He's almost certainly done for the day. Walker is just a reserve, but it's bad news for a Saints' front seven that's already decimated by injury.
