Sat Sep 5 201514:16Maehl released by Eagles on Saturday
Maehl was released by the Eagles on Saturday.
The 26-year-old Maehl, a former undrafted free agent, has just nine catches for 113 yards in 27 career games. If he draws any interest, it will likely be for a role on special teams.

Maehl played 10 snaps against Jacksonville in Week 1 and caught a 12-yard pass.
It's eight more snaps than fellow wideout Brad Smith, whose spot as the third receiver on the Philadelphia depth chart was evidently nothing more than ceremonial. Still, Maehl is way behind all of Jeremy Maclin, Riley Cooper and Jordan Matthews. When Josh Huff (shoulder) returns to the field, Maehl might not see a single snap at wideout beyond that.
Thu Dec 5 201312:09Jeff Maehl back at practice
Eagles WR Jeff Maehl (concussion) returned to practice Thursday.
Maehl has already gained medical clearance following the concussion he sustained against the Cardinals. Chip Kelly's Oregon prospect should be fine to do some special teams work against the Lions.

Tue Oct 8 201311:01Jeff Maehl's role is increasing for Eagles
Jeff Maehl played on a season-high 25 percent of the snaps in Sunday's Week 5 win over the Giants.
The Eagles staff is realizing that Riley Cooper's inability to get an inch of separation is crippling the passing game. So they're starting to get Maehl, a Chip Kelly favorite from Oregon, mixed in. Still, Maehl didn't record a target on Sunday and remains the No. 4 wideout. He's just a name to file away.

Sun Sep 29 201320:12Jeff Maehl gets first career TD
Jeff Maehl caught two passes for 43 yards with a touchdown in Sunday's Week 4 loss to the Broncos.
Maehl, a Chip Kelly special out of Oregon, got his first NFL catch from Nick Foles. Mike Vick had already been pulled from the blowout. Maehl may be a better receiver than Riley Cooper, but Cooper is a far better blocker. Maehl isn't a real threat right now.

Mon Aug 12 201317:12Texans deal WR Maehl to Eagles for OT Menkin
Eagles acquired WR Jeff Maehl from the Texans in exchange for OT Nate Menkin.
Chip Kelly is very familiar with Maehl, who played wideout and special teams for Kelly's Oregon teams. He'll probably compete primarily for a gunner job in Philly. Maehl, 24, went undrafted out of Oregon two years ago. He appeared in three 2011 games, but none in 2012 and has never caught an NFL pass.

Tue Dec 13 201116:57Texans promote WR Jeff Maehl
Texans signed WR Jeff Maehl from their practice squad.
Undrafted out of Oregon, Maehl will replace Derrick Mason as the No. 4 receiver while pitching in on special teams. His promotion doesn't bode well for Andre Johnson's (hamstring) chances of returning in Week 15.
