Jenkins had a huge game for the Bears in Sunday's 26-0 loss to the Seahawks, finishing with a career-high 10 tackles and two sacks.
Jenkins played 56 of 57 total snaps, and submitted arguably the best performance of his career. As a 3-4 defensive end, Jenkins hadn't shown much pass-rushing ability in the past, as he only collected two sacks during his previous 44 games as a member of the Redskins. However, he showed plenty of explosiveness from the interior line Sunday, nearly reeling in a third sack on the afternoon before Russell Wilson evaded the rush. Given his career track record, Jenkins probably can't be counted on to build on this performance, but it at least solidified him into a starting role with Jeremiah Ratliff's pending return from a suspension for Week 4.

Jenkins is expected to open the season as one of the Bears' starting defensive ends, the Chicago Tribune reports.
With the Bears implementing a 3-4 scheme this season, Jenkins isn't expected to provide much impact as a pass rusher, limiting his fantasy appeal. If rookie nose tackle Eddie Goldman recovers from his concussion quickly and excels in the early going, it's possible that Jenkins could be pushed out of a starting role once Jeremiah Ratliff -- who can play either tackle or end -- returns from his three-game suspension.
Tue Mar 24 201511:04Jenkins agreed to one-year contract with Bears on Tuesday
Jenkins agreed to a one-year contract with the Bears on Tuesday, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports.
A former second-round draft pick, Jenkins recorded 75 tackles and two sacks in three seasons with the Redskins. The Bears are still hurting for defensive talent, but Jenkins is unlikely to earn a starting job.

Jenkins (ribs) is listed as active for Monday's game against the Seahawks.
Jenkins is out there Monday to man left defensive end for Washington, but with just five tackles in four games, he's off the IDP radar.

Jenkins will get extra rest with this week's game coming on a Thursday. His participation or lack thereof next week should give an indication on his status for Week 5's game, which is a Monday night game against the Seahawks.

Jenkins left Thursday's game against the Giants with a rib injury and is doubtful to return.
Jenkins will likely sit the remainder of the game with the Redskins already down by a large margin. The team should reveal the nature of his injury in the coming days.
Fri Jul 26 201316:05Redskins DE Jenkins banned 4 games for PEDs
NFL suspended LE Jarvis Jenkins four games for violating the league's policy against performance enhancing substances.
It's a particularly big blow to Washington's defense because No. 3 end Adam Carriker may miss the enter season following a third quadriceps surgery. Jenkins, the Redskins' second-round pick in 2011, made 15 starts last year, including the playoffs. Pro Football Focus gave him high grades as a run defender. The Redskins are suddenly thin at defensive end, with Kedric Golston, Phillip Merling, and Chris Baker now competing to be a Week 1 starter.

Tue Aug 7 201203:03Jarvis Jenkins struggling to regain form
Redskins DE Jarvis Jenkins (ACL surgery) has "hardly demonstrated the power that made him so impressive last summer," according to the Washington Times.
"We're 10 practices in to camp, and I still haven't seen him produce a moment that reminds me of last summer," says beat writer Rich Campbell. Jenkins was emerging as the Redskins' top lineman as a rookie before the ACL tear. He may have to come off the bench behind Adam Carriker and Stephen Bowen this time around.

Pro Football Weekly suggests Jarvis Jenkins could be the Redskins' starting left end when the 2012 season begins.
Jenkins was the star of Washington's training camp before undergoing season-ending ACL surgery in the preseason, and incumbent starter Adam Carriker is not likely to be retained this March. With the return of a healthy Jenkins, the Redskins' defensive line projects to be a much improved unit in 2012.

Jarvis Jenkins has been diagnosed with a torn ACL.
It's a tough pill to swallow for the Redskins. Jenkins was one of the stars of training camp, showing raw yet explosive skills while playing the two-gap end spot in the 3-4. The No. 41 overall pick is now done for the season, leaving Adam Carriker as the likely starter opposite Stephen Bowen at defensive end.

Fri Aug 19 201117:43Jarvis Jenkins to start preseason game
The Redskins announced Friday that second-round pick Jarvis Jenkins would start their second preseason game over Adam Carriker.
Carriker was one of the Skins' few defenders to hold his own last season, but Jenkins has looked beastly in camp. The rookie will start at left end, across from Stephen Bowen. Washington's front seven will be much improved this year.

Second-round DE Jarvis Jenkins has been the early star of Redskins camp.
The Redskins may have more beat writers covering the team than other club in the NFL, and all of them have sung Jenkins' praises. "I don't want to put the kiss of death on Jarvis, but he's what you look for in a defensive lineman," said coach Mike Shanahan. "He's got great size. You can tell that he's a student of the game. He goes out there and works extremely hard, extremely conscientious, and he's going to get better and better."
