McPhee (shoulder) recorded two tackles, including his third sack of the season, and blocked a 27-yard field-goal attempt in Sunday's win over the Chiefs.
Through five games, McPhee has been worth every penny of the $40 million that the Bears doled out to him this past March. Along with being the Bears' top pass rusher, McPhee has shown a penchant for making plays that can alter the landscape of a game, as the blocked kick ultimately did with the Bears winning by just a one-point margin.

McPhee (shoulder) is active for Sunday's game against the Chiefs.
McPhee was added to the injury report after the shoulder injury kept him on the sidelines for Friday's practice, but his absence was likely only for precautionary purposes. The free-agent import has been the heartbeat of the Bears' defense this season, recording 24 tackles, two sacks, and an interception in four games.

McPhee accumulated a team-high eight tackles and an interception in Sunday's 22-20 win over the Raiders.
Though the 2014 big-money defensive signings of Jared Allen and Lamarr Houston haven't come close to paying dividends, the Bears' decision to ink McPhee to a five-year, $40 million deal this past March looks to be a wise move through four games. Along with taking on a leadership role in the locker room, McPhee has been the clear standout player on the Bears' defense, collecting 24 stops and two sacks in addition to the interception. Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio should continue to devise a variety of blitz packages to maximize McPhee's impact on the opposing passing game.

McPhee registered seven tackles and two sacks in Sunday's 26-0 loss to the Seahawks.
After a quiet first two weeks, McPhee was quite disruptive against Seattle, finishing with four quarterbacks hits while recording his pair of sacks on the same drive. With Jared Allen dealt away to Carolina on Monday, the onus will be on McPhee to continue to generate pressure and ease the responsibilities of the Bears' secondary.

McPhee (wrist/knee) is active for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.
McPhee failed to practice Thursday and Friday due to the knee and wrist injuries, but neither ailment was serious enough to prevent him from suiting up Sunday. Though he failed to register a sack in Week 1, he'll represent the Bears' top pass-rushing threat in the matchup versus Arizona.

McPhee finished with six tackles in his regular-season Bears debut in Sunday's loss to the Packers.
The big-ticket free-agent acquisition didn't have much impact as a pass rusher in this one, as sound play from the Packers' offensive line in addition to the mobility of quarterback Aaron Rodgers prevented the Bears from logging a single sack on the afternoon. That said, McPhee was quite active on the outside, ranking tied for third on the team in tackles while playing a full-time role. Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio will make McPhee a centerpiece of his blitz packages in the weeks to come, but the outside linebacker will need to generate sacks in order to justify his massive contract.

McPhee provided a dominant performance in Saturday's preseason victory over the Colts, registering a sack and providing heavy pressure on quarterback Andrew Luck on a third-down incompletion.
After biding his time behind Terrell Suggs and Elvis Dumervil in Baltimore, McPhee will be a defensive cornerstone for the first time in his career upon inking a massive contract from the Bears in the offseason. In limited snaps last season, McPhee notched an astounding 38 quarterback knockdowns, a number that should only rise as defensive coordinator Vic Fangio figures out ways to take advantage of the outside linebacker's exceptional abilities.

McPhee agreed to a five-year contract worth nearly $40 millon with the Bears on Monday, the Baltimore Sun reports.
McPhee finished the 2014 season with 7.5 sacks, 27 tackles (17 solo) and one forced fumble. He figures to slide in opposite Jared Allen for the Bears in 2015, giving the team two talented pass-rushers off the edge.

McPhee had one solo tackle and one sack in Sunday's 48-17 win over Tampa Bay.
McPhee has quietly been one of Baltimore's best players this season, constantly applying pressure when given the chance. However, he primarily plays at the team's deepest position, which explains why he only gets about half of the defensive snaps. A former 3-4 defensive end, McPhee has turned into a surprisingly effective 3-4 outside linebacker, one that can also serve as an interior pass rusher on obvious passing downs. Though he has just seven tackles (three solo), two sacks and two passes defensed through six games, McPhee may be headed for a surprisingly big contract as a free agent next offseason.

McPhee predicts that he will record double-digit sacks this season, ESPN.com reports.
Though he's drawn strong reviews throughout training camp and the preseason, McPhee primarily plays outside linebacker, the same position as Terrell Suggs, Elvis Dumervil and Courtney Upshaw. The Ravens have been using McPhee on the line in their nickel defense, and while that role could lead to a handful of sacks, double digits is probably pushing it. The versatility and pass-rushing potential could make McPhee valuable to the Ravens, but he won't get many tackles, and probably won't log enough snaps to have a realistic shot at double-digit sacks.
Fri Jun 28 201318:02Ravens moving McPhee to outside 'backer
The Ravens are reportedly converting DL Pernell McPhee to outside linebacker.
It's a bit of an odd switch for a 6-foot-3, 280-pound defender who made his early-career mark as an interior hand-in-the-dirt pass rusher. Perhaps McPhee is just trying to add position flexibility to his resume. The Ravens are set in the starting lineup at rush 'backer with Elvis Dumervil bookending Terrell Suggs.

Thu May 23 201322:38Pernell McPhee practicing fully at OTAs
Ravens DL Pernell McPhee is participating fully in OTAs following offseason groin surgery.
After a terrific, six-sack rookie year, McPhee's sophomore season was ruined as he lost explosion due to double offseason knee surgeries. Despite more playing time, his sack total fell to 1.5. McPhee will return as a situational player behind Chris Canty and Arthur Jones, competing for pass-rush snaps in sub-packages.

Tue Apr 16 201314:18McPhee's recovery on schedule
Ravens DE Pernell McPhee's rehab is on schedule following groin surgery.
After an impressive six-sack rookie season, McPhee battled through knee, thigh and groin injuries in 2012, limiting him to just 1.5 sacks. The Ravens plan on giving McPhee plenty of looks as a rush linebacker, and hope a return to his rookie playing weight will help regain the burst he seemed to lack last season.

Fri Feb 22 201314:10Ravens DE McPhee undergoes groin surgery
Ravens DE Pernell McPhee recently underwent groin surgery, but he's expected to be ready for training camp.
It's been a tough calendar year for McPhee. He had two knee surgeries last offseason, and then battled a thigh injury during the season. It sapped McPhee of the explosion he showed as a rookie in 2011. He was held to just 1.5 sacks in 2012, a year after recording six of them.

Wed Nov 28 201220:49McPhee trying to shed weight after bulking up
Ravens LE Pernell McPhee is trying to shed weight after losing his burst this season.
McPhee bulked up to 290 pounds last offseason, roughly 10 pounds heavier than his 2011 playing weight, and it has sapped him of his quickness. McPhee also underwent two arthroscopic knee surgeries after the season, and that surely hasn't helped. He hasn't played since Week 7 due to knee and thigh issues and has been limited to individual work in practice. After registering six sacks in spot work last year, McPhee entered the season as a starter, but he's posted just a half-sack in seven games.

Thu Nov 15 201214:18Ravens DE McPhee expects to play Sunday
Ravens LE Pernell McPhee (thigh, knee) is expected to return for Week 11 at Pittsburgh.
"I feel like I'm ready," said McPhee. "I feel like I'm 100 percent." The first-year starter has been a disappointment as a pass rusher this season after undergoing a pair of arthroscopic knee surgeries in the offseason.

Sat Nov 10 201209:14Pernell McPhee ruled out for Week 10
Ravens DE Pernell McPhee (thigh, knee) has been ruled out for Week 10.
This makes two weeks in a row for McPhee, who underwent two arthroscopic surgeries on his right knee prior to training camp. McPhee hasn't been particularly effective this season generating only a half-sack and 16 tackles. Arthur Jones will again get the start in his place.

Sat Nov 3 201209:15Pernell McPhee ruled out for Week 9
Ravens DE Pernell McPhee (thigh, knee) has been ruled out for Week 9.
McPhee has been dealing with the injuries over the past two weeks. "I'm just trying to get my knee back right," McPhee said earlier Friday. "I'm pretty banged-up, nicks and bruises." With McPhee sidelined, the Ravens are expected to start Arthur Jones in his place.

Wed Oct 31 201222:49Ravens DE McPhee still battling knee issues
Ravens LDE Pernell McPhee says his offseason knee surgeries have sapped him of his explosiveness and closing speed.
"Mentally, I feel great coming back in. Physically, it is what it is. I just have to fight through what I'm fighting through," said McPhee. The second-year lineman underwent arthroscopic knee surgery after the 2011 season and then had a second procedure on the right knee just before training camp. He also put on 10 extra pounds in the offseason, which is likely contributing to his poor campaign. McPhee has just a half-sack after posting six in his rookie season.

Sat Sep 8 201212:35Pernell McPhee has gained 10 pounds
Ravens DE Pernell McPhee has reportedly bulked up to 290 pounds.
"It gives me a little thump in the trunk it. I got a little extra power," said McPhee. Coming off a six-sack rookie campaign, he will rotate at DE with Terrell Suggs out. McPhee has very little fantasy value.
