Bowman recorded a whopping 16 tackles (13 solo) in Sunday's 30-27 loss to the Giants.
Bowman finally had that signature performance we had come to expect from him in years past. He exhibited great movement and the minor knee tweak he suffered two weeks ago seems like a distant memory. He continues to be a solid IDP play.

Bowman recorded eight tackles (seven solo) in Sunday's 17-3 loss to the Packers.
Bowman has been fairly vanilla in 2015, failing to reach double-digit tackles in a single game this season. On a positive note, he didn't appear to be limited by the minor knee injury suffered last week. Bowman isn't playing at the level we were used to prior to his gruesome knee injury in the 2013 NFC Championship, but owners have to give him a bit more leash in case he is simply shaking off the rust.

Bowman (knee) led all San Francisco defenders with nine tackles (seven solo) in Sunday's 47-7 loss to the Cardinals.
Bowman tweaked his surgically repaired knee Sunday, but he was able to stay in the game and stated that his knee was fine after the contest. He missed the entire 2014 season with an ACL tear, so any setback with his knee is an obvious concern. What may be more concerning for his owners is the face that he has yet to record double-digit tackles or a sack this season. The 49ers' have been blown out these past two weeks, so there hasn't been a whole lot of tackling going on with anyone on this team, but expect Bowman to end up near the top of their total tackle list as long as his knee holds up.

Bowman (non-injury) is listed as active Sunday at Arizona.
Bowman took a veteran rest day Wednesday, which he followed with unhindered showings in practice both Thursday and Friday. Through two contests, he's accrued 11 tackles (seven solo) and one sack.

Bowman was limited to just four tackles (none solo) in Sunday's blowout loss to the Steelers.
A poor IDP showing from Bowman, who had a promising week 1 against the Vikings. While he didn't look as explosive Sunday, the main reason for his lack of stats was an aerial assault by Ben Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown, and company. next week's opponents - the Arizona Cardinals - should have a slightly more balanced attack, but they have shown early in the year that they are not afraid to air it out either. This could be another game where the opposition avoids Bowman in the middle of the field and airs it out to test the 49ers' inexperienced corners.

In his first regular season action since 2013, Bowman finished Monday's win with seven tackles (all solo) and a sack.
Bowman looked like his dominant former self Monday, exhibiting good lateral movement and pursuit to the ball carrier. Most importantly, he was on the field for most of the game and did not re-injure his knee. The modest tackle total can be attributed to Minnesota's gameplan, as they didn't run the ball between the hashes often. Assuming good health, Bowman should be an excellent source of tackles going forward.

Bowman started his second game of the preseason Saturday, recording a game-high nine tackles (seven solo) to go along with two sacks in the loss to the Broncos.
Bowman recorded enough counting stats in one half that most IDP owners would be fine with from a player playing a full game. He was originally only supposed to play just 10 snaps Saturday, but coach Jim Tomsula saw that his linebacker was healthy and responding well to the increased workload. Last week's dominance was considered a small sample size (three tackles in three snaps), but this gave IDP owners all they needed to see before moving Bowman up the draft board.

Bowman (knee) returned to the field Sunday, recording three tackles (all solo) in the preseason win over the Cowboys.
This was the first game action Bowman has seen since his gruesome knee injury in the 2013 NFC Championship game. It was a brief return, as he was only on the field for three snaps, but Bowman astonishingly recorded a solo tackle on all three plays, including two for losses. Bowman quickly proved that he hadn't lost the explosiveness and field awareness that made him a three-time Pro Bowler. Now the question becomes whether or not his surgically repaired knee can hold up for the whole season. That risk should keep his draft price relatively affordable, making him a high-upside pick for owners in IDP leagues.

Bowman (knee) - who missed last week's contest against the Texans - is unsure if he will start Sunday's preseason game against the Cowboys, CSN Bay Area reports.
Bowman has participated in all but one of 49ers' offseason practices and has been medically cleared to suit up. Coach Jim Tomsula stated that the decision comes down to him, and he wants to make sure Bowman is ready psychologically. While it is a bit worrisome that he hasn't made it into game action yet, all reports are that he will be physically ready to start the regular season.
Fri Aug 14 201514:16Updating previous report
Updating a previous report, Bowman is unsure whether he will start in Saturday's preseason opener against the Texans, CSN Bay Area reports.
It sounded as if Bowman was ready to suit up Saturday, but head coach Jim Tomsula is having second thoughts about hurrying his star linebacker back into game action. There is no report of a setback of any kind, rather the 49ers taking extra precaution with the All-Pro linebacker. Barring a real setback, Bowman will enter a preseason game at some point and be ready for week one of the regular season.

Bowman is expected to start Saturday's preseason opener against the Texans, CSN Bay Area reports.
Amidst all of the retirements and releases among the 49ers' once-proud defense, the return of All-Pro linebacker NaVorro Bowman has been the one positive storylines to follow this offseason. All reports from within the 49ers' organization have indicated that Bowman will play in Saturday's first preseason game. This is big news for the veteran linebacker, who didn't line up for one snap in 2014. Assuming his knee holds up during the preseason and remainder of training camp, Bowman has the talent to make a strong bounce back campaign in 2015 for a defense that truly needs him.

Bowman didn't participate in the 49ers' initial padded practice Tuesday, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports.
Bowman has so far been fitting in all non-padded practices, so he'll likely ease into contact drills in the coming weeks as he continues to distance himself from the torn ACL suffered in January of 2014. Prior to the injury, he put together three consecutive regular seasons with at least 136 tackles, which he supplemented with nine sacks, five forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries, three interceptions, and one defensive touchdown during that span. If all goes as planned, he'll man inside linebacker once Week 1 arrives.

Bowman practiced fully at the 49ers' first training camp practice Saturday, CSN Bay Area reports.
Bowman looked strong in the 49ers' first training camp practice Saturday, showing his explosiveness with a quick spin move that allowed him to get to Colin Kaepernick. It has been a long road to recovery for the All-Pro linebacker after missing the entire 2014 season with an ACL tear. Saturday was the first time the club allowed Bowman to go at 100 percent, and he did not disappoint. The health of his knee during training camp will be a key factor to determining whether or not Bowman can return to his dominant self. If he does not suffer a setback, then he should be considered a top IDP target in drafts this year.

Bowman (knee) was not listed on the 49ers' first injury report leading up to training camp, Cam Inman of the San Jose Mercury reports.
This is great news for the 49ers, who lost two starting middle linebackers this past offseason. Bowman spent all of the 2014 season rehabbing from an ACL injury. Now that he has fully recovered from the knee injury, Bowman will resume his role as one of the 49ers' starting middle linebackers, making him an immediate target in IDP leagues.

Bowman seems to be progressing well in his return from an ACL tear, claiming that he is "back in playmaking mode" after Friday's OTAs.
Bowman made an interception in the back of the endzone during Friday's OTA session and seems well on his way to returning to All-Pro form. He did mention that he doesn't enjoy playing with a knee brace, as it limits his mobility, but he understands that it is there to protect his knee. The 49ers are hoping that Bowman can return to his former self after losing two starters at middle linebacker this offseason.
Wed Apr 29 201511:33Bowman (knee) resumed practicing Tuesday during 49ers' minicamp
Bowman (knee) resumed practicing Tuesday during the 49ers' minicamp, Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area reports.
It's the first time Bowman has been able to take the field since suffering a gruesome ACL tear during the NFC Championship Game in January 2014. Despite missing the entire past season, Bowman is still viewed as the 49ers' anchor in the middle following the offseason retirements of Patrick Willis and Chris Borland, though it remains to be seen if the 26-year-old can rediscover his pre-injury form. He was exceptionally productive during his last full season in 2013, recording a career-high 145 tackles and two interceptions over 16 games.

Bowman is expected to be ready for on-field team activities at the end of April, CSN Bay Area reports.
Bowman spent the entire 2014 season rehabbing from a gruesome knee injury in the 2013 NFC Championship game, but it appears as though he is finally ready to make his comeback to the field. Coach Jim Tomsula said that he expects Bowman to participate in 49ers' mini-camp at the end of the month. With both Patrick Willis and Chris Borland retiring this offseason, Bowman will be asked to be the team's defensive leader from the middle linebacker position this season.
Sat Dec 13 201416:28NaVorro Bowman: Placed On IR
Bowman (knee) was placed on injured reserve Saturday.
Bowman's gruesome knee injury from last year's NFC Championship game ended up costing him the entirety of 2014. He will hopefully be at 100 percent health well in advance of next year. His absence means that Chris Borland might be the top IDP option at linebacker until the year's conclusion.
Thu Dec 11 201418:32Bowman (knee) won't suit up Sunday in Seattle
Bowman (knee) won't suit up Sunday in Seattle, the 49ers' official site reports.
Bowman, who hasn't made an appearance in practice this week, will instead attempt to make his season debut in Week 16 against the Chargers or Week 17 versus the Cardinals. As long as he's sidelined, though, Chris Borland and Michael Wilhoite will continue to hold down the fort at the 49ers' two inside linebacker spots.
Tue Dec 9 201414:26Bowman (knee) added to 49ers' active roster Tuesday
Bowman (knee) was added to the 49ers' active roster Tuesday, CSN's Matt Maiocco reports.
The report did not add anything about Bowman's health or expected role, but he will be eligible to play this week for the first time all season. Bowman made 145 tackles last season, so if he plays a regular role down the stretch, he could be a late factor in leagues that use IDPs.
