Graham caught is only target for eight yards in Thursday night's loss to the Colts.
On a night when Houston' quarterbacks dropped back 41 times, Graham was the target just once. His fellow tight end, C.J. Fiedorowicz, had just one target as well. The position is going under utilized in the passing game for a second straight season.

Graham caught one of his six targets for six yards in Sunday's 48-21 loss to the Falcons.
The six targets are nice, but Graham has just 13 total (three catches) through four games. He's having a repeat of his 2014 season when he had just 18 catches in 11 games. To this point in the season, despite leading the league in passing attempts, Houston quarterbacks are not paying much attention to the tight ends. The one glimmer of hope is that Houston wideouts Nate Washington (hamstring) and Cecil Shorts (shoulder) suffered injuries and the Texans have a short week, playing Thursday night against Indianapolis. That might translate to more tight-end targeting.

Graham caught one of five targets for seven yards and a touchdown in Houston's loss to Carolina in Week 2.
Graham was an afterthought in Houston's season-opening loss, but had a greater role this week when Ryan Griffin (knee) was unavailable.

Graham played just 18 snaps in Sunday's loss to the Chiefs.
Graham, who's been the Texans' lead tight end since Owen Daniels left town, didn't start and played fewer snaps than C.J. Fiedorowicz (34) and Ryan Griffin (36). With Griffin having injured his MCL and expected to miss multiple weeks, Graham becomes the healthiest pass-catching tight end on the roster.

Graham was targeted once with zero catches in Sunday's Week 1 loss to the Chiefs.
We were encouraged by the preseason activity, in which Houston's tight ends were frequent targets, but that didn't turn out to be the case in Week 1. Graham, Ryan Griffin and C.J. Fiedorowicz were targeted just six times in 49 drop backs. In a related note, Griffin left the game with a knee injury, leaving Graham as the lone healthy pass-catching tight end.

Graham had two catches (three targets) for 16 yards in Saturday night's prseason game against Denver.
Graham's been targeted five times in the first two preseason games, which bodes well for his usage in this year's offense.

Graham had one catch (two targets) for nine yards in Saturday night's preseason opener against San Francisco. Both of his targets were on Houston's first offensive series and his lone catch converted an early third-down opportunity to extend a drive that eventually produced a touchdown.
It was encouraging to see Graham targeted early in the game, because the diminished usage of the tight-end position stood out in 2014, head coach Bill O'Brien's first season in Houston. But it looks like things may different in year two. All told, Houston tight ends were targeted six times in 29 passing attempts.
Wed Aug 12 201519:20Graham stands out among Houston tight ends as best route runner
Graham stands out among Houston tight ends as the best route runner, the Texans' official site reports.
Graham shows the ability to get open off the line and remain open, where the more inexperienced tight ends may beat the defender off the line of scrimmage, then run themselves into coverage. Graham should be the leading target at tight end, though we really have to wonder how many targets will be there for tight ends, a position that was sorely under-utilized in the offense last season.

Graham finished the season having been inactive for the final four games after suffering a Week 12 ankle injury. He had 18 catches on 28 targets in 11 games played.
The injuries in 2014 were certainly a disappointment -- in addition to the late-season ankle injury, Graham missed the season opener with a back -- but averaging less than three targets per game was a bigger one. Head coach Bill O'Brien came in with a reputation as a tight-end friendly coach, but that never materialized in the offense during 2014. It's unclear if the lack of targets was by design or due to quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick's decision-making. Heading into the 2015 season, Graham remains atop the depth chart at tight end and we'll be looking at personnel moves over the course of the offseason to get a hint at how things might be different for Graham next season.

Graham (ankle) did not practice Thursday, the Houston Chronicle reports.
Graham, who sat out last week's game after injuring the ankle in Week 13, is looking like a game-time decision. Ryan Griffin will replace him as a pass-catching threat at tight end, though we suspect Sunday's game plan against the Colts will be to run the ball early and often in an effort to keep quarterback Andrew Luck off the field.

Graham caught four passes on a season-high seven targets for a team-high 41 yards in Sunday's loss to the Bengals.
Before we get too excited, realize that five of those seven targets came late in the game with Houston two scores down on its final drive. In other words, Graham wasn't integral to the overall game plan.
