Selvie (knee) is not expected to play in Saturday's preseason game, the New York Daily News' Ralph Vacchiano reports.

He suffered the knee injury in practice last week and is obviously still recovering. Consider Selvie questionable for the Giants' final preseason game next week.

Selvie suffered a knee injury during Monday's practice, but the extent of the injury is unknown, Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News reports.

The Giants are yet to offer any comments on the injury, but for now consider Selvie day-to-day.

Selvie signed a one-year, $1.4 million contract with the Giants, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

Selvie started 29 of the 32 games he played for the Cowboys over the past two seasons, piling up 60 tackles and 10 sacks over that stretch. The 28-year-old probably won't be a starter or an IDP option in 2015, but the Giants found a nice bargain to improve their defensive line depth. There is some chance Selvie could compete with Damontre Moore and/or Robert Ayers (pectoral) for the starting spot opposite Jason Pierre-Paul.

Selvie had five tackles and a sack in the Cowboys' win over the Seahawks on Sunday.

It's his first sack of the season. The Dallas defensive line has been an IDP wasteland so far this season, but at least for one game Selvie was able to regain his 2013 form.

There's no word yet on whether he'll play Saturday in the Cowboys' second preseason game, but it looks like Selvie should be fine for Week 1.
