Tukuafu has signed with the Seahawks as a free agent, Nick Eaton of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports. |
This is a result of Derrick's Coleman's season ending broken foot, which left the Seahawks without a real fullback for their run game. Tukuafu saw time on the defensive line as well as fullback during his time with the 49ers, but Pete Carroll said the team's interest in him is at fullback. |

Harbaugh didn't comment on Tukuafu's status for the NFC Championship Game, but it appears there's at least a slim chance he suits up. The Sacramento Bee reported Sunday evening the "early indications" were that Tukuafu suffered a sprained MCL. If that diagnosis holds, it's highly unlikely he'd be active in Seattle. That would leave Anthony Dixon and TE Vance McDonald to pave the way for Frank Gore. |
