Tue Oct 6 201516:09Phillips released by Saints on Tuesday
Phillips was released by the Saints on Tuesday, Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports reports.
With Jairus Byrd now healthy, the Saints no longer have need of Phillips, who played nearly every snap in Weeks 2 and 3. The former first-round draft pick is unlikely to draw interest as anything more than a depth option.

Phillips made eight tackles (five solo) in Sunday's loss to the Buccaneers.
Phillips, who was cut by the Saints following the preseason, re-signed with the team earlier this week and immediately drew the starting nod, after Rafael Bush suffered a season-ending pectoral injury in Week 1. Phillips, a former first round pick, hadn't played in an NFL game since 2012, but he was around the ball often in Week 2. With Jairius Byrd's injury status still up in the air, Phillips could again be in line for significant playing time in Week 3 against run-based Carolina, making him an interesting sleeper option in IDP leagues.
Tue Sep 15 201510:28Phillips
Phillips, who was re-signed by the Saints on Monday, could start at free safety for New Orleans in their Week 2 game against the Buccaneers, reports Mike Triplett of ESPN.com.
With Jairius Byrd still out with a knee injury and Rafael Bush suffering a torn pectoral muscle in the regular season opener, Phillips could be in line to start, or at the very least, see significant action in the Saints' home opener. The former first-round draft pick has struggled with injuries and hasn't played in a game since 2012, but he impressed in the preseason for the Saints. Journeyman Jamarca Sanford will also likely see playing time, alongside strong safety starter Kenny Vaccaro.
Mon Sep 14 201510:32Phillips re-signed by Saints
Phillips has been re-signed by the Saints, The Times-Picayune reports.
Phillips spent this summer with the Saints, but was released by the team as their final roster cut following the preseason. However, with starting free safety Rafael Bush having suffered an upper body injury Sunday and Jairus Byrd still dealing with a knee issue, Phillips will rejoin the Saints to boost their secondary. No stranger to injuries of his own, Phillips has not played in the NFL since 2012.
Thu Jan 1 201510:39The Saints have signed Phillips to reserve/future contract
The Saints have signed Phillips to a reserve/future contract, ESPN.com reports.
Phillips hasn't played in a regular season game since 2012 due to a series of injuries, but if the 2008 first-rounder can re-prove his health, he could be a useful addition to the Saints' safety corps next season.
Sun Aug 25 201316:41Eagles cut Kenny Phillips
Eagles released S Kenny Phillips.
Phillips was the 31st overall pick in the 2008 draft. While he's flashed All Pro-type ability in the rare instances he's been healthy, Phillips has not been the latter much over the past several seasons. Another team will likely give Phillips one more shot, but he's running out of time despite only being 26.

Sun Aug 25 201310:23Kenny Phillips in danger of being cut
The Philadelphia Inquirer believes the Eagles could cut FS Kenny Phillips by Tuesday.
Tuesday is the day teams have to trim their rosters down to 75 players. Phillips has missed the last two preseason games with a quadriceps injury, and he's missed a ton of practice time. The Eagles are desperate for help next to SS Pat Chung, but it looks like Nate Allen is the favorite to start at free safety. Phillips signed a one-year, $2 million deal in an effort to rehab his value.

Eagles S Kenny Phillips "isn't moving very well" in training camp practices.
Pat Chung has already locked up starting strong safety duties, and Nate Allen is the favorite at free. Phillips needs to worry about his roster spot. He can't shake his troublesome knee woes and his contract has no guaranteed money.

Eagles FS Kenny Phillips (knee) is a full participant in minicamp.
Phillips missed a good chunk of OTAs, but is now back to participating in team drills. Provided he avoids a setback - which is not a given - he'll be 100 percent for training camp, where he'll have to hold off Nate Allen for a starting job.

Eagles FS Kenny Phillips says his absence from practice was precautionary and "nothing serious."
Phillips is taking it easy on his left knee, which underwent micro-fracture surgery in 2009. Phillips' litany of knee injuries since entering the league are concerning, and this could be a situation to monitor going forward.

Eagles FS Kenny Phillips missed practice with an undisclosed injury to his surgically repaired knee.
Coach Chip Kelly wouldn't go into detail, only saying Phillips was "out with (a) knee injury." It's possible he suffered a setback, but until the Eagles elaborate we're inclined to believe it's due to general soreness. Phillips has battled knee injuries since entering the league.

Thu Mar 14 201316:12Eagles ink S Kenny Phillips to one-year deal
Eagles agreed to terms with FS Kenny Phillips, formerly of the Giants, on a one-year deal.
Phillips stays in the division on a one-year deal as he tries to rehab some value after battling knee issues for the past couple of seasons. A fine coverage safety, the Eagles will likely pair Phillips with fellow new acquisition SS Patrick Chung on their back end. There were whispers the Giants were thinking about franchising Phillips last week.

Thu Mar 7 201313:21Kenny Phillips to test the open market
Free agent FS Kenny Phillips will test the open market.
The Giants and Phillips have talked about a new contract for the past couple of weeks, but the money "wasn't nearly enough" and his chances of re-signing before March 12 "appear gone." Phillips' preference is to re-sign with the Giants. Once he hits the market, Phillips' chances of being back with New York take a major hit.

Fri Mar 1 201313:44Giants working on keeping Kenny Phillips
The Giants are "continuing to see" if they can work out a new contract with free agent FS Kenny Phillips.
Per reporter Jason La Canfora, Phillips is unlikely to be franchise tagged ahead of Monday's deadline. With Antrel Rolle and Stevie Brown to fall back on at safety, the Giants will likely only bring Phillips back at their price.

Sun Feb 10 201312:18Kenny Phillips an option for Panthers?
The Charlotte Observer mentions impending free agent FS Kenny Phillips as an option for the Panthers.
Phillips almost certainly won't be back with the Giants, who appear set at the safety spots with Antrel Rolle and Stevie Brown. New Panthers GM Dave Gettleman also knows Phillips from his days with the Giants. Phillips has battled knee issues over recent seasons, but he would be quite an upgrade on burnable Haruki Nakamura.

Giants FS Kenny Phillips (knee) is officially listed as doubtful for Monday night versus the Redskins.

Fri Nov 30 201218:46Kenny Phillips says rehab was done poorly
Giants FS Kenny Phillips believes his knee has been so problematic this season because his rehab was done improperly.
Keep in mind Phillips is in a contract year. His comments suggest he won't be re-signing with the G-Men in 2013. "When we started our rehab we didn't go about it the right way, and now here we are, we're dealing with it right now," Phillips said. "I don't want to get into (specifics). It just didn't work out the way we wanted it to." Phillips has played in 5-of-11 games this year.

Mon Nov 26 201216:03Kenny Phillips aggravates MCL injury
Giants FS Kenny Phillips' right knee injury is an aggravation of his previous MCL issue.
Coach Tom Coughlin "doesn't know what to expect." Phillips was making his first appearance since Week 3 on Sunday. It's doubtful Phillips is ready for Week 13. Tyler Sash and Stevie Brown should rotate snaps opposite Antrel Rolle.

Sun Nov 25 201223:08Giants FS Kenny Phillips re-injures knee
Giants FS Kenny Phillips was forced from New York's Week 12 game against the Packers with a right knee injury, and will not return.
It's the same knee that held Phillips out between Weeks 4-10. Phillips was able to walk off under his own power, but he'll likely be questionable at best for Week 13. Tyler Sash has come on at free safety.
