Sun Sep 20 2015 | 12:26 | Knighton (ribs) active for Sunday's game against Rams |
Knighton (ribs) is active for Sunday's game against the Rams. |
After Washington made a sizeable investment in him during the offseason, Knighton only saw 22 defensive snaps in the Week 1 loss to the Dolphins while recording just one tackle. Though he was listed as probable heading into Sunday's game, Knighton could still see a regulated snap count as he continues to work his way back from the injury. |
Thu Mar 12 2015 | 19:35 | Knighton will sign one-year |
Knighton will sign a one-year, $4 million contract with the Redskins, ESPN's Josina Anderson reports. |
The Redskins have remade their defensive line this offseason, signing Knighton, Stephen Paea and Ricky Jean-Francois. "Pot Roast" will mostly play nose tackle, and he's never been an option for IDP leagues. |
Mon Apr 28 2014 | 11:29 | Knighton says he won't be a distraction |
Terrance Knighton said he will not let his contract situation become a distraction. |
Knighton rightfully believes he's outperformed the two year, $4.5 million deal he signed with Denver in March of 2013. But the Broncos have no room to extend him now, and he should be setting his sights on 2015 free agency anyway. He just watched defensive tackles like Paul Soliai, Earl Mitchell and Linval Joseph get paid in a big way. If Knighton sustains last year's level of play, he'll be getting at least $10 million guaranteed in 2015. |

Tue Feb 11 2014 | 11:58 | Report: Broncos DT Knighton wants new deal |
Mile High Sports reports Broncos DT Terrance Knighton feels he's outperformed his current contract and wants a new deal. |
Knighton inked a two-year, $4.5 million deal with the Broncos last offseason after a couple down seasons in Jacksonville. Reuniting with DC Jack Del Rio was what "Pot Roast" needed, and he graded out as a top-ten defensive tackle at Pro Football Focus in 2013. Knighton is 27 years old and is in the prime of his career. Denver could look to extend him. If not, Knighton could choose to skip some offseason practice sessions to make his voice heard. |

Mon Jan 20 2014 | 13:46 | Terrance Knighton dominated AFCCG |
Broncos NT Terrance Knighton recorded four tackles, two for a loss, and a 10-yard sack in Denver's AFC Championship game win over New England. |
Knighton's critical sack came against Patriots All-World LG Logan Mankins on a critical play in the game. The stats still don't show Knighton's full impact on the AFCCG, as he almost singlehandedly controlled the line of scrimmage and was the best defender on either side. Knighton, 27, finished the regular season as a top-ten defensive tackle in Pro Football Focus' ratings. He was an offseason free-agent steal on a two-year, $4.5 million contract. |

Sat Jun 1 2013 | 13:57 | DT Knighton in the mix to start |
Broncos DT Terrance Knighton will compete for a starting spot on the defensive line. |
Knighton, who joined Denver to reunite with Jack Del Rio, will compete with Kevin Vickerson and first-round pick Sylvester Williams to start at defensive tackle. Regardless of who ends up starting, all three players will see heavy snaps as part of a rotation. Although he's been inconsistent as a pro, Knighton had his best season under Del Rio. He's a candidate for a bounce-back year. |

Wed Mar 13 2013 | 17:38 | Broncos snag DT Terrance Knighton for two yrs |
Broncos agreed to terms with DT Terrance Knighton, formerly of the Jaguars, on a two-year contract. |
"Pot Roast" is reuniting with his old boss ex-Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio. Knighton, 26, flashes brilliance at times, but his play has been far too inconsistent the last couple of seasons. He had his best season under Del Rio in 2010, registering 34 tackles and four sacks. The 6-foot-3, 336-pound behemoth will line up next to Kevin Vickerson and shut down the run game. |

Wed Mar 13 2013 | 00:39 | Broncos close to signing Terrance Knighton |
ESPN and USA Today report the Broncos are close to an agreement with free agent DT Terrance Knighton. |
"Pot Roast" would be reuniting with former Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio in Denver. Knighton can clog running lanes with the best of them, but is coming off an up-and-down campaign. He's still only 27 (in July), however. He's well worth a flier. |

Fri Mar 8 2013 | 23:44 | Jaguars not ruling out Terrance Knighton deal |
Jaguars GM David Caldwell isn't ruling out re-signing free agent DT Terrance Knighton. |
Jacksonville won't overpay, though, as Caldwell deemed Knighton's return a mere "possibility." Knighton, 26, is a 6-foot-3, 336-pound underachiever. A change of scenery might help get Knighton's motor running more consistently. |

Fri Jan 25 2013 | 13:17 | Knighton's chances of returning on the rise? |
The Florida Times Union believes impending free agent DT Terrance Knighton's chances of returning have increased with the hiring of Gus Bradley. |
Beat writer Ryan O'Halloran points to Bradley's affection for bigger-bodied tackles to help clog the middle, and Knighton certainly fits the bill at 6-foot-3 and 330 pounds. However, he started just four games in 2012 and was demoted to a reserve role under the old regime. Knighton, 26, figures to be one of Jacksonville's priorities this offseason. |

His job in Jacksonville's defense is to tie up blockers and control the line of scrimmage, leading to minimal box score production. |

Jaguars NT Terrance Knighton (eye surgery) will begin camp on the active/PUP list. |
This, after Knighton declared himself 100 percent on Friday. Knighton was probably being overly optimistic, while the Jaguars are likely being overly cautious. Playing at "sub-330" pounds this summer, Knighton shouldn't remain sidelined for long. |

Knighton is angling for a contract extension, promised to him by GM Gene Smith if he got his conditioning under control. He's well on his way. |

Jaguars NT Terrance Knighton (eye surgery) says his eye is "progressing a lot faster than they thought it would," and that he expects to be ready for training camp. |
Speaking at a Tuesday news conference, Knighton also insisted that he was not the instigator in the April nightclub incident that led to his eye injury. He also denied the police report's assertion that he "repeatedly made threats to shoot people." Unable to run and lift weights while he rehabs, Knighton will miss the Jaguars' mandatory June minicamp. |

"In good spirits!! Recovery is moving along great," Knighton tweeted Tuesday. "Can see out of my left eye again and can't wait for it to be back normal." Obviously great news, but Knighton is still expected to be held out of football activities for at least the next three months as he recovers. He's in a race against time to be ready for training camp. |

Mon Apr 16 2012 | 23:56 | Terrance Knighton can't run or lift |
Jaguars NT Terrance Knighton will be unable to run and lift while he's sidelined by an emergency eye operation. |
The Jaguars have a nutrition plan for the oft-overweight Knighton, but it's an obvious concern entering his contract year. The recovery could sideline Knighton for the beginning of training camp. His absence during upcoming minicamps and OTAs will warrant 2010 third-round pick D'Anthony Smith more of a look. |
