Ness was waived only a week ago. He was held off the stat-sheet in two games earlier this season. Although he could see a few snaps in St. Louis' injury-ravaged secondary, most of Ness' playing time should come on special teams.

Ness has been a safety throughout his career, but has been on an active roster just once in the NFL since going undrafted in 2009. He was on the Browns, Jets and Seahawks before finally sticking in Miami. Versatility can't hurt Ness in his quest to make the team.
