Kalil is undoubtedly the Panthers' best offensive lineman, so the team will understandably take caution with him ahead of the regular season. While the veteran is unlikely to appear again in the preseason, his practice involvement could also be limited. With that in mind, the Panthers hope Kalil can be healed by Week 1 of the regular season.

Any restructure would have to include an extended contract with a high-dollar signing bonus that could be pro-rated.
