Rubin agreed to a contract with the Seahawks on Thursday, John Boyle of the Everett Herald reports.
Following a seven-year stint in Cleveland that included 75 starts in 99 games, Rubin has found a new NFL home. It's been a few years since he was anywhere near the IDP radar, and while the Seahawks are thin at defensive tackle, Rubin won't necessarily be a starter.

Rubin (ankle) is not expected to require surgery, although it's still unclear when he'll be able to return, ESPN reports.
Rubin has missed Cleveland's past two games due to an ankle injury, which has resulted in Ishmaa'ily Kitchen starting at nose tackle in the Browns' 3-4 scheme. Still without a timetable for his return, Rubin's absence is expected to carry into this Sunday's game against the Raiders.

Wed Jul 30 201420:13Rubin has impressed new head coach Mike Pettine with run-stoppin...
Rubin has impressed new head coach Mike Pettine with his run-stopping ability during the first few days of camp, ESPN Cleveland reports.
Rubin is entering his seventh NFL season with the Browns, and despite being a bit banged up during team OTAs, he's back in pads and making an impression for his run defense. The 28-year-old has two seasons (2010-11) of 80-plus combined tackles under his belt, and could be a reasonable IDP option in deeper formats under Pettine's 3-4 defensive scheme in the coming year.
Sun Mar 2 201417:29Agent: Browns won't lower Rubin's salary
After meeting with Browns officials at the Combine, the agent for LE Ahtyba Rubin is confident the team will retain Rubin at his current salary.
After an up-and-down 2013 campaign, Rubin is owed a $6.6 million base salary and $300,000 workout bonus. "They're happy to have him on team, no changes to his salary," agent Alan Herman told the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Rubin turns 28 in July. The Browns don't necessarily need cap room, but could lower Rubin's figure by signing him to a long-term contract extension.

The Browns added LE Ahtyba Rubin to their injury report after he missed Friday's practice with a calf injury.

Sun Jul 14 201311:04Browns to flip Rubin & Taylor back and forth
The Browns are expected to rotate Ahtyba Rubin and Phil Taylor between nose tackle and left end.
Desmond Bryant is locked in at right end. Rubin (6'2/330) and Taylor (6'3/335) both possess nose tackle-type size and are light on their feet. DC Ray Horton could flip them back and forth ala Ryan Pickett and B.J. Raji in Green Bay. "We're not necessarily going to pigeonhole people," Horton said. "We can mix and match." Cleveland's front seven will be much improved in 2013.

Wed Apr 17 201318:30Rubin sheds weight, will be used at DE
Browns DL Ahtyba Rubin has shed weight in anticipation of his new role at DE.
A nose tackle throughout his career, Rubin will primarily be used at left defensive end in the Browns' new 3-4 scheme while seeing spot duty behind Phil Taylor at the nose. He's slimmed down to 306 pounds in an effort to improve as a pass-rusher after playing around 320 in 2012. There have been whispers that Rubin may be available for trade due to being a poor fit in the new defense.

The Browns are expected to use Ahtyba Rubin at defensive end in Ray Horton's new 3-4 defense, with Phil Taylor at nose tackle.
