McBride (thumb) was placed on season-ending injured reserve Tuesday.
Chandler Fenner was signed to replace McBride on the active roster, but Jayron Hosley figures to take McBride's role as the nickel corner, at least until Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (back) is cleared to return. McBride underwent successful surgery to repair a fractured thumb Monday.
Tue Oct 14 201400:08McBride will have surgery on right thumb
McBride will have surgery on his right thumb, the Newark Star-Ledger reports.
With Walter Thurmond out for the year and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie likely to be out against the Cowboys, the Giants secondary is incredibly thin right now.
Wed Jul 16 201413:26Giants CB McBride competing for spot?
Both ESPN New York and the Newark Star-Ledger hint Giants CB Trumaine McBride may be competing for a roster spot.
McBride started ten games last season and broke up 15 passes while grading out as a top-24 corner at PFF. The Giants then inked him to a new two-year, $3.1 million deal. But it only includes $100,000 guaranteed, and the Giants have injected talent into their corner group. McBride is currently the No. 5. The team is high on youngster Charles James and used a draft pick on Bennett Jackson.

Tue Mar 11 201409:31Giants re-sign CB McBride for 2 years, $3.1M
Giants re-signed CB Trumaine McBride to a two-year, $3.1 million contract.
The sides had been trying to hammer out a deal the past couple days. Filling in for a beat-up Corey Webster last season, McBride started 10 games opposite Prince Amukamara and batted 15 passes and picked off two. Ideally, he'd be a No. 3 or 4 and play special teams. The G-Men are still in the market for cornerback help.

Mon Mar 10 201417:50Giants close to re-signing two
The Giants are close to re-signing free agents CB Trumaine McBride and K Josh Brown.
They should both be back on affordable deals. McBride, 28, was a revelation after taking over as a starter due to injuries in 2013, excelling in spot duty. We're a bit surprised he wasn't more anxious to test his market worth.

Mon Jul 30 201215:22Jags bring back CB Trumaine McBride
Jaguars re-signed CB Trumaine McBride.
McBride spent one game on the Jaguars' active roster last season. A seventh-round pick of the Bears in 2007, McBride has made 48 career appearances, but only 16 since 2008. It's doubtful he's more than a camp body for the Jags.

Tue Dec 27 201117:57Jaguars sign CB McBride, DE Kirlew
Jaguars signed CB Trumaine McBride and promoted DE Jammie Kirlew from the practice squad.
McBride adds depth to an injury-ravaged secondary. A two-time All-Big Ten selection, Kirlew was a seventh-round pick by the Bears in 2010.

Fri Mar 4 201111:24Cardinals don't tender CB McBride
Cardinals declined to tender CB Trumaine McBride, making him an unrestricted free agent.
The 25-year-old saw some action at slot corner for Arizona last year, but is mostly a special teamer. He racked up 11 tackles in kick and punt coverage. McBride could return to the Cards as a sub-package defender at a lower cost.

Mon Aug 2 201010:15McBride ahead of Toler for now
Trumaine McBride has been running as a starting corner ahead of Greg Toler so far.
It's a minor surprise after Toler was thought to be the front-runner for the job all offseason. The Arizona Republic speculates that McBride is getting the nod because he has more experience, but there's no doubt that Toler is the more talented player. Whoever wins the job will be picked on plenty with Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie locking down the other side.
