Sat Dec 31 201116:36Mat McBriar sent to injured reserve
Cowboys placed P Mat McBriar on injured reserve with a left foot injury, ending his season.
McBriar hadn't been the same since injuring his plant foot in Week 8, and the Cowboys apparently didn't trust the two-time Pro Bowler going into their most important game. Also the Cowboys' holder, McBriar's injury sets up the possibility that Tony Romo, who made an infamous holding gaffe during the 2006-07 postseason, could be holding kicks from here on out. An eight-year veteran, McBriar is set to become an unrestricted free agent.
