Sat Sep 13 201416:10Harris will start at right tackle against Broncos
Harris will start at right tackle against the Broncos.
Harris will take the place of Jeff Allen as the starting right tackle following Allen's season-ending surgery earlier this week. He will likely take the spot for the next three games, and the team will go from there with Donald Stephenson returning from suspension in Week 5.
Wed Jul 23 201414:35Chiefs sign veteran RT Ryan Harris
Chiefs signed RT Ryan Harris.
Harris, 29, is a former third-round pick of the Broncos. He's appeared in 78 career games, making 39 starts mostly as a right tackle. In K.C., he'll push Donald Stephenson for the starting job opposite Eric Fisher and compete with J'Marcus Webb for swing-tackle duties. Harris made three starts for Houston in 2013.

Mon Jun 30 201418:56Dolphins work out free agent RT Ryan Harris
Free agent OT Ryan Harris worked out for the Dolphins on Monday.
Harris, 29, was the mystery fourth lineman, joining C Samson Satele, G Daryn Colledge, and C Steve Vallos. Harris is mostly a right tackle who has started 39 games in his career. The Dolphins are reportedly going to sign Colledge, but Harris and Satele drew positive reviews at the workout and may also be added.

Mon Apr 8 201317:48Houston re-signed OT Ryan Harris
Texans re-signed OT Ryan Harris to a one-year contract.
Harris, 28, played in 16 games last season, starting two. Pro Football Focus graded him out positively as a pass blocker and in the screen game, but as a slight liability against the run. Harris is an athlete who's natural fit is in a zone blocking scheme. He'll likely serve as solid depth behind Derek Newton at right tackle.

Mon Jan 2 201217:20Broncos sign OT Ryan Harris
Broncos signed OT Ryan Harris, formerly of the Eagles.
Harris, 27 in March, was released at final cuts in Philly with an injury settlement after undergoing back surgery. Following Chris Kuper's injury, Harris will serve as depth during what may be a short-lived Denver playoff run.

Thu Oct 13 201118:28Vikes work out free agent Ryan Harris
The Vikings worked out free agent OT Ryan Harris on Thursday.
Harris was amongst the Eagles' final cuts last month after his ever troublesome back held him out for a majority of training camp. He'd provide solid depth along Minnesota's shaky offensive line if healthy, but there's currently little reason to believe he'd be able to stay on the field.

Harris goes with an injury settlement after recent back surgery. We suspect he won't play this season. Wells is versatile, but a career journeyman.

Mon Aug 29 201119:10Eagles RT Harris undergoes microdiscectomy
Eagles RT Ryan Harris underwent what the team considers a "successful" microdiscectomy on his troublesome back Monday.
Teams don't typically announce surgeries as "unsuccessful." The hope is that Harris' will fix the problems he's experienced for the last six years, dating back to Notre Dame. The Eagles have not provided a timetable for Harris to return, but the odds are against him being an early-season contributor. Todd Herramans will open the year on Mike Vick's blind side.

Sat Aug 27 201112:58Ryan Harris' surgery set for Sunday
Eagles RT Ryan Harris' back operation has been scheduled for Sunday.
The Eagles said on Friday that Harris would go under-the-knife "within the next week." It's looking doubtful Harris will be able to contribute in any meaningful way this season. Although Winston Justice is said to be making nice progress in his recovery from knee surgery, King Dunlap is currently ticketed as Michael Vick's Week 1 blindside protector.

Fri Aug 26 201115:00Eagles RT Harris to undergo surgery on back
Eagles RT Ryan Harris will undergo back surgery "within the next week" and is out indefinitely.
The procedure will repair a herniated disc, but it's a long-term concern. Harris has undergone three known back surgeries in six years, dating back to his senior season at Notre Dame. His medical history is one of the major reasons the Eagles were able to sign Harris on the cheap this offseason. Harris threatens to be a total non-factor in Philly this year. So far, the Eagles' free-wheeling moves in free agency have yet to pay obvious dividends.

Fri Aug 26 201110:01Ryan Harris limited to one practice
Eagles RT Ryan Harris (back) has participated in just one practice and zero preseason games.
Harris' back woes have his place on the team in question. According to the Daily News' Paul Domowitch, "Right now, [Harris'] chances of being any kind of a pass-protection factor this season are slim." Combined with Winston Justice's slow recovery from knee surgery, Michael Vick's blind side has become a major concern. King Dunlap is not the answer.

Sat Aug 20 201113:05Ryan Harris (back) returns to practice
Eagles RT Ryan Harris (back) returned to practice on Saturday.
Harris missed Philadelphia's second preseason game and nearly two weeks of practice. He has the talent to be the Eagles starter, but HC Andy Reid said on Saturday that he currently considers King Dunlap to be his starting right tackle. That will change if both Harris and Winston Justice can stay healthy.

Tue Aug 16 201110:22Harris' back still an issue
Ryan Harris (back) has now missed a full week of practice and will not play in the Eagles' second preseason game.
Harris' injury history is well documented and it's the main reason he hasn't become a dominant tackle in the NFL. With Winston Justice (knee) also sidelined, Michael Vick's blind side is a concern. Unreliable yet massive King Dunlap will start on Thursday.

Sat Aug 13 201115:52Eagles Harris misses practice w/ back spasms
Eagles RT Ryan Harris missed Saturday's practice with back spasms.
"He's had work done on his back before, and so we're just going to make sure we check this thing out and just that it's right," said head coach Andy Reid. "Right now it looks like it's not too serious." Though Harris is set to enter the season as the team's starter on Michael Vick's blind side, the fragile veteran is a long shot to play all 16 games.

Wed Aug 3 201109:09Harris expected to start for the Eagles?
The Philadelphia Daily News' Paul Domowitch believes it will be a "major shock" if newly acquired Ryan Harris isn't the starting right tackle in Week 1.
Incumbent right tackle Winston Justice is coming off offseason knee surgery and still hasn't been cleared to practice. Domowitch suggests that even if Justice is healthy, Harris will win the job as the better player. At the very least, the Eagles now have strong depth on their line after adding Harris, first-round pick Danny Watkins and free agent Evan Mathis this offseason.

Tue Aug 2 201118:32Eagles sign RT Ryan Harris to one-year deal
Eagles signed RT Ryan Harris to a one-year contract.
It's never a bad idea to lock up a starting-capable offensive lineman on the cheap. Harris, 26, will use this one-year deal to try to rehab his value and reenter the open market in 2012. Harris has missed 10 games due to injuries over the past two seasons, but he is an athletic blocker who will fit new OL coach Howard Mudd's scheme. The signing would seem to confirm concern that starting RT Winston Justice's knee isn't coming along quickly.

Tue Aug 2 201108:42Ryan Harris expected back with Broncos
Free agent RT Ryan Harris will take a "visit" with the Broncos Tuesday.
Harris has spent the first four seasons of his career with Denver, but needs to meet with the new regime headed by coach John Fox. Regardless, the Denver Post calls the signing a "likely nothing more than a formality." Harris would likely battle second-round rookie Orlando Franklin for the starting right tackle gig.

Wed Jul 20 201112:14RT Harris interested in re-uniting w/ Shanny
Free agent RT Ryan Harris has expressed an interest in reuniting with coach Mike Shanahan of the Redskins.
Harris would likely come at a cheaper rate than re-signing Jammal Brown, who figures to get a few looks from teams in need of a left tackle. Shanahan drafted Harris and promoted him to the starting lineup in Denver, so it's a good bet that the 26-year-old is on the Redskins' radar.

Tue Apr 5 201111:19Broncos not expected to retain RT Ryan Harris
The Broncos are not expected to bring back free agent RT Ryan Harris for the 2011 season.
Director of Football Operations John Elway has continuously recited the Broncos' starting offensive line in recent weeks, and he's named four players that don't include Harris. They're LT Ryan Clady, LG Zane Beadles, C J.D. Walton, and RG Chris Kuper. Harris has plenty of talent and is only 26 years old, but has been injury prone and may price himself out of Denver's range.
