Fri Jun 6 201417:22Lance Louis 'in the mix' at right guard
Colts OG Lance Louis will compete with Hugh Thornton for the starting right guard job.
Louis is working as the first-team left guard during OTAs with Donald Thomas (quad) sidelined, but is in the mix to start on the right side along with Thornton and rookie Jack Mewhort. Two years removed from ACL surgery, Louis has been a full participant at voluntary workouts. Louis is a superior pass blocker to Thornton and is believed to be a favorite of GM Ryan Grigson.

Fri Mar 28 201420:17Colts have high hopes for OG Lance Louis
Colts GM Ryan Grigson expects OG Lance Louis to compete for a starting job.
It's high praise for a player currently signed to a reserve/future contract, but Louis has 28 games of starting experience and missed the majority of the last two seasons recovering from ACL surgery. At worst, Louis should provide quality depth on the Colts offensive line. Louis has the potential to be an upgrade on RG Hugh Thornton when healthy.

Wed Jan 15 201417:17Colts sign OG Louis to reserve/future deal
Colts signed OG Lance Louis to a reserve/future contract.
A five-year veteran with 28 games of starting experience, Louis isn't typically the kind of player inked to a reserve/future pact. Louis signed a one-year deal with the Dolphins last season, but still wasn't over his 2012 ACL tear in camp, getting cut loose before final cuts. Still only 29 (in April), Louis is a worthy flier for a team that received some of the league's worst guard play in 2013.

Wed Nov 13 201317:31Panthers work out free agent G Lance Louis
Free agent OG Lance Louis worked out for the Panthers.
Louis was slow to recover from a 2012 torn ACL and was released by the offensive line-needy Dolphins ahead of final cuts. The Panthers opted to sign OG Travis Bond instead on Wednesday. Louis may not yet be healthy.

Tue Aug 27 201316:16Dolphins release Lance Louis
Dolphins released OG Lance Louis.
27-year-old Louis was slow to recover from his 2012 ACL tear, falling behind undrafted rookie Josh Samuda at one point in the battle to start at right guard. Another gem from Jeff Ireland's desperation offseason spending spree, Louis cost the Dolphins over $125,000 without even playing in a single game.

Mon Aug 19 201310:44Lance Louis made preseason debut Saturday
Dolphins OG Lance Louis (ACL) made his preseason debut in Saturday's game against the Texans.
He played 19 snaps. Per reporter Armando Salguero, the Dolphins were "encouraged" by Louis' play. Finally back on the practice field, Louis should blow by UDFA Josh Samuda and challenge John Jerry (knee) for Miami's right guard job. Jerry is expected to return to practice this week after missing nearly three weeks of action.

Wed Aug 14 201319:36Lance Louis still not 100 percent
According to the Miami Herald, Dolphins OG Lance Louis (ACL) still isn't 100 percent, and has taken "very few" first-team reps in camp.
Louis was supposed to push RG John Jerry for a starting job, but his health won't allow it. Jerry is rehabbing from a knee injury of his own, which he suffered early in camp. Unimpressive UDFA Josh Samuda is currently running with the first team at right guard. As we feared during free agency, GM Jeff Ireland's masterplan has ended up having little room for error. Thus far, there's been lots of error.

Wed Mar 27 201317:46Dolphins still spending, sign OG Lance Louis
Dolphins agreed to terms with OG Lance Louis, formerly of the Bears.
It's a strong signing for the free-spending Dolphins, and could be an indication RG John Jerry's time in the starting lineup - or perhaps with the team - is through. Save for Brandon Moore, Louis was the top guard still on the market. Louis is recovering from a torn left ACL, but is expected to be ready for training camp. With their interior line now set, the Dolphins need to figure out what they're going to do at tackle.

Fri Feb 8 201310:41Bears to 'work hard' to re-sign RG Louis
CSN Chicago expects the Bears to "work hard" to re-sign impending free agent RG Lance Louis.
Louis has started 24 games over the last two seasons, but he is also coming off a torn left ACL that landed him on injured reserve after Week 12. His recovery has recently been described as "on schedule." Louis is a solid pass blocker, but he gets pushed around easily in the run game. The two sides should be able to hammer out a deal.

Mon Nov 26 201214:30Bears send RG Lance Louis to injured reserve
Bears placed RG Lance Louis on injured reserve with a knee injury, ending his season.
Lewis was injured on a blindside block from Vikings RE Jared Allen Sunday, though the Bears have yet to reveal the extent of his injury. Like every Bears' offensive linemen, Louis has not played well this season, but his injury leaves the team spectacularly short up front. Recently benched RT Gabe Carimi took Louis' place Sunday, and will likely remain there going forward. The Bears are proabbly wishing they hadn't opted to place subordinate LG Chilo Rachal on the reserve/non-football injury list right about now. Still only 27, Louis will be a free agent at season's end.

Sun Nov 25 201217:39Lance Louis to have MRI on his knee
Bears RG Lance Louis is scheduled for a Monday MRI on his knee.
Chicago was so shorthanded on the O-Line in Sunday's win over Minnesota that RT Gabe Carimi was forced to right guard when Louis left. Carimi did indicate after the game that word in the locker room was Louis is going to be okay.

Thu Oct 13 201109:03Lance Louis gets the starting nod at RT?
Lance Louis will start at right tackle in place of Frank Omiyale Sunday, according to CSN Chicago.
With Gabe Carimi (knee) out, Omiyale has started the last two games at right tackle. But due to atrocious play, he has been benched during the game both times. Now Louis takes over and Chris Spencer returns to his right guard spot despite concerns over a hand injury. The Bears are desperate for any semblance of an upgrade in pass protection.

Bears RG Lance Louis had his injured ankle in a protective boot following Sunday's win over the Falcons.
He is not expected to be active for the Bears' Week 2 visit to New Orelans. Chris Spencer replaced Louis at right guard yesterday, but it's possible Edwin Williams will draw the start in his place against the Saints.

Sun Oct 3 201022:20Lance Louis out with knee injury
Bears RG Lance Louis is out for the remainder of Week 4 with a knee injury.
The Bears talked up Louis like a future star throughout training camp, but he got off to a miserably slow start particularly as a run blocker in the first three games. He was then burned on multiple occasions by Giants defensive tackles on Sunday night. After being benched in the first half for Edwin Williams, usual LG Roberto Garza is back in at right guard.
