Tue May 9 202318:27Nolan Arenado Returning On Tuesday
St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado (neck) is back in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Chicago Cubs. He sat out of Monday's series opener while dealing with neck stiffness. However, he's back on Tuesday, so it appears this is a minor issue for the All-Star slugger. He'll cover third base and bat cleanup versus right-hander Jameson Taillon on Tuesday. Fantasy managers should double check their lineups and make sure to get Arenado back in there.

Tue May 9 202301:07Nolan Arenado Dealing With Neck Stiffness
St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado (neck) was scratched from Monday's battle against the Chicago Cubs due to neck stiffness. However, the Cardinals are calling his removal from the starting lineup as "precautionary," so fantasy managers should consider the star third baseman day-to-day for now. The struggling Red Birds can ill-afford one of their best players to go on the injured list, so hopefully the 32-year-old All-Star will return on Tuesday. He entered the week hitting a disappointing .232 (32-for-138) with four doubles, three home runs, 18 RBI, a steal and 15 runs scored in 149 plate appearances and 34 games overall. Check back on Tuesday before returning Arenado to your starting lineups.

Sat May 6 202318:49Nolan Arenado Goes Yard; Buy-Low Window Closing
St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in the fifth inning of St. Louis' loss to Detroit on Saturday. It was the 32-year-old's first big fly since April 12. The six-time Platinum Glover has been mired in a troubling slump for quite some time, limping to a .145 batting average with merely two RBI across the 16 games prior to Saturday's effort. After logging at least one hit in 14-of-16 games to commence the year, Arenado has signified a screaming fantasy buy-low candidate for a number of weeks while struggling through this lengthy skid. Fantasy managers should expect the five-time Silver Slugger to build on this performance going forward.

Thu Apr 20 202300:37Nolan Arenado Struggles At The Plate Versus Arizona
St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado did not record any hits, going 0-for-4 at the plate in a 14-5 win over Arizona Wednesday. Nevertheless, he contributed to the team's success by drawing one walk, stealing one base, and scoring one run. Although he has experienced a recent slump with no hits in four out of his last five games, Arenado maintains a respectable .293 batting average this season, with two home runs, 13 batted in, and nine runs scored. The talented hitter will likely recover his form as the season advances.

Sun Apr 9 202312:50Nolan Arenado Hits 300th Career Home Run
St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado went 2-for-3 with his 300th career home run, three RBI, a run scored and a walk in the team's 6-0 win over the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday. The home run was also Arenado's first of the 2023 season. The 31-year-old is only the eighth player in major-league history with 300 home runs and 10 Gold Glove awards. It's no surprise Arenado is off to a strong start yet again this year with a .364/.389/.485 slash line, an .874 OPS, one double, one home run, eight RBI and four runs scored in his first eight games played. He's a must-start in all fantasy lineups anytime he's on the field.

St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado went to 2-for-4 Friday in a 4-0 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers. The 31-year-old had two of the five Cardinals hits. On Saturday, Arenado and his Cardinal teammates will meet Brewers 27-year-old left-handed pitcher Eric Lauer who is 1-0 with a 3.38 ERA this season.

Mon Mar 20 202309:19Nolan Arenado Expected To Be Fine After HBP
St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado (hand) is expected to be fine after being hit by a pitch during Sunday's World Baseball Classic win over Cuba. According to Team USA manager Mark DeRosa, Arenado is fine, and if the score (USA was up 9-2 at the time) had been different, "he would have fought me on it" in terms of staying on the field. He underwent x-rays on Sunday, which came back negative. The 31-year-old appeared to have avoided a significant injury and was removed as a precaution. He should be available for the World Baseball Classic championship Tuesday. Arenado is hitting .571 with two home runs and three RBI over 14 at-bats this spring.

Fri Mar 17 202316:55Nolan Arenado In Midseason Form
St. Louis Cardinals third basemanNolan Arenado has looked great this spring and during the World Baseball Classic. Before heading out for the WBC, Arenado hit .571 with two home runs and three RBI for the Cards. Though he's yet to homer for Team USA, he has four RBI with a .333/.375/.533 slash line. Three of his five hits have gone for doubles. Team USA plays Team Venezuela Saturday night, so Arenado can continue his hot hitting for at least one more game in the WBC. The fifth-best third baseman on RotoBaller's rankings and 37th overall, it'll take a high-end pick to grab Arenado, but it will also be worth it. He's a solid contributor across the board but is still separated by about 15 spots compared to the top third baseman.

Tue Nov 1 202218:14Nolan Arenado Wins 10th Gold Glove
St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado won his 10th career Gold Glove in 10 major-league seasons on Tuesday, which ties Ichiro Suzuki for most consecutive Gold Gloves to begin a career. Realmuto, Diamondbacks first baseman Christian Walker, Rockies second baseman Brendan Rodgers, Braves shortstop Dansby Swanson, Cubs left fielder Ian Happ, Padres center fielder Trent Grisham, Dodgers right fielder Mookie Betts and Braves starting pitcher ... Sat Oct 29 202213:59Nolan Arenado Opting Into The Rest Of His Contract
St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado has informed the team that he will opt into the remainder of his five-year, $144 million contract, according to a league source. Arenado was facing his second and final opt-out clause in the deal, and the Cardinals were optimistic throughout the 2022 season that the seven-time All-Star would choose to return. Since he was acquired by the Cardinals in a trade before the 2021 season, Arenado has made two All-Star teams and is in the running for his 10th straight Gold Glove. The 31-year-old slugger also has two straight seasons of 30-plus homers and 100 RBI and could also win his fifth Silver Slugger award. Arenado will remain a high-end fantasy third baseman heading into the 2023 season.

Wed Oct 26 202221:18Cardinals Planning On Nolan Arenado's Return
St. Louis Cardinals president John Mozeliak met with third baseman Nolan Arenado this week in California and the two had a discussion about the direction of the club. Mozeliak said he's "optimistic" of a positive resolution with Arenado in the near future, and it sounds as though the team is planning on him returning in 2023. The 31-year-old has an opt-out clause in his contract, but it sounds like he won't exercise it to become a free agent this winter. He has five years and $144 million remaining on his current eight-year, $260 million deal he inked in 2019. Arenado is a National League MVP candidate in 2022 after hitting .293/.358/.533 with an .891 OPS, 30 home runs, 103 RBI, 73 runs scored and five stolen bases in 148 games in his second year in St. Louis.

Tue Oct 4 202216:35Nolan Arenado Remains Sidelined Tuesday
St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado (thigh) remains out of the starting lineup on Tuesday against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Arenado's injury isn't serious at all, but the Cardinals aren't pushing him in the last couple days of the regular season with the team already locked into a playoff spot in the wild-card series this weekend. It remains to be seen if the 31-year-old All-Star will play in Game 162 on Wednesday, but he'll almost certainly be ready for Friday's first playoff game. With Arenado out, rookie Juan Yepez is at the hot corner and is hitting sixth against Pirates right-hander JT Brubaker. Yepez has swung the bat well in 11 games since Sept. 21, going 10-for-35 (.286) with a homer, two RBI and three runs scored for the Cards.

Wed Sep 28 202218:30Nolan Arenado Getting The Day Off
St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado will get the day off on Wednesday against the Milwaukee Brewers. Arenado and a few others will take a seat a day after the team clinched the National League Central division on Tuesday. Rookie Juan Yepez will get the nod at the hot corner instead and will bat cleanup against Brewers right-hander Brandon Woodruff. Yepez has handled himself quite well in his first major-league season for the Cardinals and he's hit well in limited opportunities of late, going 7-for-18 (.389) with a homer, two RBI and three runs scored in six games in the last two weeks of play. He'll be a solid under-the-radar DFS play against Milwaukee.

Fri Sep 16 202214:31Nolan Arenado Steals His Fifth Base Thursday
St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado went 1-for-4 with his fifth stolen base of the season and a strikeout in Thursday's 3-2 loss to the visiting Cincinnati Reds. Arenado is hitting a strong .298/.359/.550 with a .910 OPS, 29 home runs, 96 RBI, 69 runs scored and five steals in 562 plate appearances across 133 games in his second year in St. Louis. The seven-time All-Star remains a must-start in all fantasy formats, but he hasn't been as hot so far in the month of September. In 12 games this month, he's gone 9-for-45 (.200) with a homer, seven RBI and five runs scored. The good news is that he's in the midst of a modest five-game hitting streak.

Sun Sep 11 202213:13Nolan Arenado Getting The Day Off On Sunday
St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado is getting the day off on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Pirates. This looks just to be a routine day of rest for the veteran third baseman who's slashing a paltry .185/.214/.259 over the last seven contests. He's still having an excellent season overall with a .298/.360/.548 to go along with 28 home runs and 93 RBI across 496 at-bats.

Sat Aug 27 202218:07Nolan Arenado Reinstated From Paternity List
St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado has been reinstated from the Paternity List and is back in the lineup Saturday against Charlie Morton and the Atlanta Braves, hitting fourth and playing third base. Arenado missed the team's previous two games while being with his wife during the birth of their first child. The MVP candidate has been on a tear in the second half of the season, slashing .321/.380/.651 with eight homers over 121 plate appearances. Get him back in your lineups if you haven't already. Juan Yepez has been sent to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

Fri Aug 26 202216:45Nolan Arenado Placed On Paternity List
The St. Louis Cardinals placed third baseman Nolan Arenado on the paternity list on Friday and recalled infielder/outfielder Juan Yepez from Triple-A Memphis in a corresponding move. The Cardinals also activated closer Ryan Helsley from the restricted list and optioned left-hander Packy Naughton to Memphis. Arenado didn't play on Thursday after leaving to be with his pregnant wife, so it's not a surprise he's on the paternity list a day later. He could miss the entire three-game series this weekend against the Atlanta Braves. Brendan Donovan is starting at third and hitting second on Friday against Braves right-hander Spencer Strider. Donovan has very little power (two homers), but he's nearly hitting .300 with 34 RBI and 39 runs scored in 275 at-bats for the Cards this year.

Thu Aug 25 202213:33Nolan Arenado, Dylan Carlson Out Thursday
St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado and outfielder Dylan Carlson are out of the starting lineup on Thursday against the Chicago Cubs. Arenado's wife is preparing to have their first child, so he's likely to land on the paternity list and could miss several more games. Carlson will start on the bench for the third straight game. It's possible that Arenado could miss the entire weekend series against the Atlanta Braves, so fantasy managers need to prepare accordingly. Tommy Edman is manning the hot corner and batting seventh, while Tyler O'Neill is playing center field and hitting sixth against Cubs right-hander Marcus Stroman. First baseman/designated hitter Albert Pujols is also out of the lineup for the series finale against Chicago.

St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado had a four-hit game Friday with three doubles and two RBI, helping the team to a 5-1 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks. Arenado last had a multi-hit game on August 10, but he's still enjoyed a very solid month with a .349/.397/.762 slash line and six home runs in 68 plate appearances. For the season, Arenado has rewarded fantasy investors with a .923 OPS, 25 homers, 59 runs scored, 77 RBI, and two stolen bases.
