He's 0-2 with a 5.59 ERA and has suffered through control issues his last three starts, allowing 11 walks. He signed a minor-league deal with the A's in December after spending much of last season with the Dodgers' Triple-A affiliate. Jesse Hahn, who has been starting in Nashville, is the most likely candidate to replace Surkamp in the rotation.

Said Surkamp: "I actually felt today I was more on the glove than I had been my first couple of starts. I just got my (butt) kicked. That's pretty much all there is to it. They're a good lineup. You make mistakes, they're going to make you pay for it. The middle of that order is probably the best in baseball. Just a tough lineup when you're not on top of your game."

The Dodgers will instead go with reliever Yimi Garcia as the starter Monday. Surkamp will likely provide bullpen depth once he's officially added to the major league roster.

The 27-year-old Surkamp isn't a highly regarded prospect, and he owns a 4.50 ERA and 6.9 K/9 for Oklahoma City.

The 27-year-old Surkamp was acquired in a May trade with the White Sox, after spending much of the last two seasons working as a reliever. He has a 4.50 ERA, 5.49 FIP, 6.9 K/9 and 2.9 BB/9 through seven appearances (six starts) with Triple-A Oklahoma City. Even if he's called up, Surkamp probably won't stick in the rotation for more than a start or two.

The Dodgers acquired Surkamp from the White Sox on Friday, Tim Brown of Yahoo! Sports reports.

Surkamp allowed just four earned runs over 19.1 innings with Triple-A Charlotte after being designated for assignment late last month to lower his ERA to 2.81. He figures to join the Dodgers' Triple-A Oklahoma City affiliate in short order, but could be a middle-relief option for the big club if his success carries over.

Surkamp cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Charlotte on Monday, Doug Padilla of ESPN Chicago reports.

Surkamp was removed from the 40-man roster Sunday to make room for Scott Carroll and will likely head to the bullpen in Triple-A. In four appearances with Charlotte this season, Surkamp has surrendered four runs and eight hits in 6.1 innings.

Surkamp was designated for assignment by the White Sox.

Surkamp hasn't seen the majors in 2015, so this was a simple enough move for the White Sox as they add Scott Carroll to the 40-man roster.

Surkamp (back) was reinstated off the DL on Saturday and assigned to Triple-A Charlotte, the Daily Herald's Brian Hedger reports.

After some work with Charlotte, Surkamp could very well be recalled by the White Sox, but his role would be as a middle reliever/lefty specialist.

Surkamp (back) was placed on the 15-day DL on Sunday.

Surkamp will look to carve out a role in the White Sox bullpen when he's first eligible to return on April 11.

Drabeck remains in the mix for the Whtie Sox's final bullpen spot, the team's official site reports.

Either he or Kyle Drabeck will emerge from camp as the team's 11th pitcher, which will probably consist of a mix of long- and short-inning work.

Surkamp was among the White Sox's roster additions Tuesday, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Surkamp has bounced between the majors and bullpen for much of the past month, but he should serve in his usual mopup role for the season's final few weeks.
