According to Jeff Schuler of The Morning Call, the Phillies have released pitching prospect Austin Hyatt.

Hyatt was terrific in A- and Double-A ball from 2009-11, but he really struggled last season at Double- and Triple-A and the Phillies have decided to cut the chord. Someone will surely scoop him up, but Hyatt will turn 27 in May and his future doesn't look to be very bright.
