Marlins signed OF Ryan Patterson to a minor league contract.

Patterson, 28, batted .325/.382/.546 with 20 home runs, 16 stolen bases and 90 RBI in 485 plate appearances last year in independent ball. He'll act as organizational outfield depth this upcoming year for the Marlins.
