Thu Jan 414:56Ryan Jensen Claimed By Twins
The Minnesota Twins have claimed relief pitcher Ryan Jensen off waivers from the Miami Marlins. This marks the second time this offseason that Jensen has been claimed off waivers as the Marlins scooped him up a month ago after he was designated for assignment by the Seattle Mariners. Jensen made 29 appearances between the Triple-A affiliates of the Cubs and Mariners in the 2023 season, initially struggling with Triple-A Iowa before tossing a 3.18 ERA across 13 appearances with Triple-A Tacoma. While he boasts a big arm and swing-and-miss stuff, the right-hander issued 32 walks in 32 innings at Triple-A last season. He could prove to be a nice pickup if he can rein in the free passes.

Mon Nov 27 202314:55Ryan Jensen Claimed By Marlins
The Miami Marlins have claimed relief pitcher Ryan Jensen off waivers from the Seattle Mariners. The right-hander was designated for assignment by the Mariners following their acquisitions of Carlos Vargas and Seby Zavala in a trade with the D-backs for Eugenio Suarez last week. The recently-turned 26-year-old has largely pitched in the Cubs' organization in his professional career and worked to a 6.10 ERA in 16 appearances with Triple-A Iowa before turning it around and posting a 3.18 ERA in 13 appearances with Triple-A Tacoma in the Seattle organization last season. As a result of his increased performance and young age, it's no surprise to see a club scoop him up in the hopes he can continue to excel in the 2024 campaign.

The Seattle Mariners have designated pitcher Ryan Jensen for assignment. The right-hander is a 40-man roster casualty as the club needed to clear a spot following the trade of Eugenio Suarez for Carlos Vargas and Seby Zavala. The 26-year-old split the 2023 season between the Cubs and Mariners organizations as he tossed a 6.10 ERA across 16 outings at Triple-A with the Cubs but turned a corner and worked to a 3.18 ERA across 13 appearances with Triple-A Tacoma in the Mariners organization. Jensen has consistently put forth strong strikeouts numbers in his professional career but has also dealt with notable control concerns as well.
