Sun Jul 26 201511:56Parmelee out of lineup Sunday against Rays
Parmelee is out of the lineup Sunday against the Rays, Eduardo Encina of the Baltimore Sun reports.
Parmelee will sit for the third time in four games, and appears to have been passed up on the depth chart at first base by Ryan Flaherty. Though he got off to a nice start with the Orioles upon his mid-June promotion, Parmelee's performance has predictably tailed off as he picked up more regular at-bats. His batting line now sits at .222/.255/.456, and it might be long before the Orioles drop him from their 40-man roster.
Thu Jul 23 201511:26Parmelee out of lineup Thursday against Yankees
Parmelee is out of the lineup Thursday against the Yankees, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
Parmelee has started five of the last seven games at first base, but will take a seat for the afternoon contest. Chris Davis, who normally mans right field, will get the starting nod at first, with Nolan Reimold taking over in right..

Parmelee's roster spot could be in jeopardy when the Orioles recall Kevin Gausman for Wednesday's start, MASN Sports reports.
After making a splash when the Orioles called him up by hitting three home runs in his first two games back in mid-June. Parmelee is hitting just .147/.182/.329 with no home runs and two doubles in July.
Sun Jul 5 201511:53Parmelee out of lineup Sunday against White Sox
Parmelee is out of the lineup Sunday against the White Sox, MLB.com's Brittany Ghiroli reports.
Parmelee will sit out with the White Sox bringing a lefty on the hill in Carlos Rodon. With a 0-for-10 showing at the dish over his last four games, Parmelee's time as the Orioles' preferred option at first base could be soon nearing an end.
Fri Jul 3 201516:55Parmelee not in starting lineup Friday against White Sox
Parmelee is not in the starting lineup Friday against the White Sox, MASN's Roch Kubatko reports.
He'll sit with lefty John Danks on the mound for Chicago. Steve Pearce will get the start at first base for Baltimore on Friday night.
Mon Jun 29 201515:14Parmelee out of lineup for Monday's game against Rangers
Parmelee is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rangers, MASN's Roch Kubatko reports.
Parmelee started each of the last seven games, including both contests of Sunday's doubleheader with the Indians. He's presumably just getting some rest, and he'll likely be back in the lineup Tuesday. Parmelee may eventually see his role decrease when he cools off, but he's been an everyday player since his June 16 call-up.
Sun Jun 28 201512:34Parmelee will make sixth straight start Sunday against Indians
Parmelee will make his sixth straight start Sunday against the Indians, Eduardo Encina of the Baltimore Sun reports.
With Parmelee continuing to thrive since his June 16 promotion (.333/.385/.750 line over 10 games), it appears he's solidified himself into an everyday role. His lack of defensive aptitude in the corner outfield has resulted in the Orioles moving Chris Davis to right field the last two games to clear a spot for Parmelee at first base, an arrangement that should continue if the latter player keeps hitting.
Wed Jun 17 201518:46Parmelee in Baltimore's lineup Wednesday
Parmelee is in Baltimore's lineup Wednesday, one day after making his explosive season debut with the Orioles, MASN Sports reports.
Parmelee has performed well over several seasons at Triple-A, but he has not put together lasting success at the MLB level. There is a decent possibility he can work himself into a platoon to get at-bats against right-handers, but the Orioles may have roster decisions to make when Jonathan Schoop returns around the All-Star break.
Wed Jun 17 201501:08Parmelee 4-6 with two home runs in Tuesday's win over Phillies
Parmelee went 4-for-6 with two home runs in Tuesday's win over the Phillies.
The Orioles hit eight home runs against the Phillies on Tuesday, so the ball was leaving the park with regularity in Baltimore. This was also Parmelee's first game since being called up from Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday, so he really made a splash. He slashed .312/.381/.444 in 234 at-bats with Norfolk, so there may be something worth following here if Parmelee continues to get a semi-regular at-bats.

Parmelee was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk before for Tuesday's game against the Phillies, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
Making his first big-league appearance this season, the 27-year-old Parmelee, who owns a .312/.381/.444 slash line in 234 at-bats for Triple-A Norfolk, will start in right field and bat sixth. The transaction is a bit surprising despite Parmelee's solid minor league results, as the Orioles already have a glut of mediocre options in the outfield. The corresponding transaction has not been announced.
Tue Jun 16 201510:04Parmelee will be recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday
Parmelee will be recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday, CSN Baltimore reports.
Parmelee, whose minor-league contract has a June 15 opt-out date, joined the Orioles on Monday. The organization may want to keep him around, but he doesn't figure to get many at-bats with the team currently in good health. Parmelee owns a .312/.381/.441 slash line for Triple-A Norfolk this season.

Parmelee is hitting .417/.512/.694 with two home runs and four doubles in nine Triple-A games this season.
Parmelee does not figure into Baltimore's plans unless there is an injury to Chris Davis. Even then, the Orioles might call up Christian Walker rather than Parmelee, as Parmelee does not have a spot on the 40-man roster. If the Orioles let Davis walk after the season, Parmelee could have a shot at making the roster in 2016.
Sun Mar 29 201519:12Parmelee reassigned to minor league camp Sunday
Parmelee was reassigned to minor league camp Sunday.
Parmelee entered camp a long shot to make the 25-man roster. He will indeed begin the season in the minors, and provide the Orioles with organizational depth in the outfield.
Mon Jan 26 201514:11Parmelee signed minor league contract with Orioles on Monday
Parmelee signed a minor league contract with the Orioles on Monday, which includes an invite to spring training, CSN Mid-Atlantic's Rich Dubroff reports.
The Orioles have as much uncertainty in the corner outfield spots and at DH as any team in the American League, so it is easy to see why they appealed to Parmelee, who declined an assignment to Triple-A with the Twins. However, if he was able to make the big league roster, it would be as a low-end bench bat, and therefore he offers very little fantasy potential.

Parmelee has declined his assignment to Triple-A and will become a free agent, the Twins announced Monday.
The Twins designated Parmelee for assignment earlier this month to free up a spot on the 40-man roster, and he evidently wanted a more legitimate shot of making a team out of camp in 2015. Parmelee, who will be 27 on Opening Day, has 24 home runs and a .249 average in 901 big league plate appearances, which demonstrates how underwhelming he is on offense relative to his position (first base/corner outfield).
Sat Dec 13 201414:16Chris Parmelee: Designated For Assignment
The Twins designated Parmelee for assignment Saturday, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
A spot on the 40-man roster had to be freed up with Ervin Santana's signing becoming official, and Parmelee was the casualty. In 87 games with the big club last season, Parmelee hit .256/.307/.384 with seven homers and 28 RBI. He's hit .295/.395/.530 in parts of three seasons at the Triple-A level and it wouldn't be a surprise if another team grabbed him off waivers to compete for a bench role.
Mon Aug 11 201419:43Updating previous report, Parmelee in fact in lineup Monday
Updating a previous report, Parmelee is in fact in the lineup Monday, according to Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press.
Parmelee was scheduled to receive Monday off, but shortly before game time, the Twins dealt Josh Willingham to the Royals, opening up a lineup spot. With Willingham out of the picture, Parmelee figures to see close to regular duty the rest of the way for the Twins.
Mon Aug 11 201417:28Parmelee out of lineup Monday
Parmelee is out of the lineup Monday vs. the Astros, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
With Joe Mauer returning from the DL on Monday, it looks like Parmelee, and not Kennys Vargas, might be the hitter that gets squeezed out of the lineup. There is still a chance, however, that right fielder Oswaldo Arcia (back) may require a stay on the DL, which would re-open the door for playing time for Parmelee if that were to occur.
Sat Aug 9 201402:50Parmelee 1-3 with run scored and two RBI against Athletics on Fr...
Parmelee went 1-for-3 with a run scored and two RBI against the Athletics on Friday night.
While Parmelee's bat has been fairly inconsistent this season, the Twins will continue to play him most nights. Parmelee (.260/.316/.407) has potential to be a solid corner option in 2015, but for the remainder of this season he only provides occasional production as a hitter.
Wed Jul 2 201416:22Chris Parmelee notches a pair of hits
Chris Parmelee went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles in Wednesday's loss to the Royals.
He had two of the Twins' four hits -- all of them singles -- against Jason Vargas. Parmelee started at first base and hit third Wednesday and could remain in a similar position often over the next few weeks with Joe Mauer (oblique) out. He's hitting .487 over his last 12 games and should probably be owned in deeper leagues.
