Sun Jun 17 201217:46Rays option RHP Gomes to Triple-A
Rays optioned RHP Brandon Gomes to Triple-A Durham.
Tampa Bay wants an extra position player on the roster and will recall one prior to Tuesday's game in Washington. Don't expect Evan Longoria or Jeff Keppinger, both rehabbing in the minor leagues, to be ready by that point. He'll remain on the Durham-to-Tampa Bay-and-back shuttle all season long.
