Casper Wells (neck) is expected to need at least one more day before returning to action.

Thu Mar 7 201318:36Casper Wells goes deep
Casper Wells launched a three-run homer and added an RBI double in Thursday's win over the Royals.
He and Stefen Romero were the big sticks in the game, as Romero had four hits and drove in seven runs. Wells already has 12 RBI this spring, but his role this year with the Mariners is a little unclear.

Fri Feb 22 201318:09Casper Wells homers versus Padres
Casper Wells homered to supply two of the Mariners' three runs in Friday's loss to the Padres.
The Mariners have Michael Morse penciled in as the everyday left fielder, making Wells' role unclear at the moment. He certainly deserves to start against left-handers, but as is, the only way that will happen is if the Mariners opt to drop Michael Saunders into a platoon role. The problem there is that Saunders had a reverse split last year, hitting .261/.307/.467 against lefties. A trade for Wells might be a possibility.

Wed Oct 3 201221:49Casper Wells drives in five
Casper Wells homered and drove in five runs in Wednesday's win over the Angels.
Wells knocked in all five runs in back-to-back innings, singling in two in the sixth before blasting a three-run shot to cap off the Mariners' six-run seventh. It's his second home run of the series, and he finishes with 10 longballs to go along with a .228 batting mark.

Tue Oct 2 201201:45Casper Wells homers, doubles for Mariners
Casper Wells homered, doubled and gunned down Mike Trout at second base in Monday's loss to the Angels.
Both hits came off left-hander C.J. Wilson. Wells is probably going to be a platoon player going forward, but he should be a pretty useful one against left-handers. He has seven homers in 129 at-bats against lefties this year. Too bad he's hitting under .200 against righties.

Sat Sep 15 201218:17Casper Wells scratched with stiff neck
Casper Wells was a late scratch from Saturday's starting lineup due to a stiff neck.
Eric Thames will replace him in left field and hit eighth in the Mariners' lineup. Wells hasn't started a game since September 9 and is hitting a disappointing .222/.287/.381 with eight homers and 29 RBI on the season.

Wed Jul 18 201223:25Casper Wells homers in loss to Royals
Casper Wells had a nice night at the plate on Wednesday, going 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in a losing effort against the Royals.
Wells also managed to score three runs in the game. His two-run homer off Bruce Chen in the fourth inning briefly tied the score at 3-3. Wells has seen an uptick in playing time recently with the injury to Franklin Gutierrez, and seems to be taking full advantage. He's now hitting .279 with six homers and 24 RBI in just 140 at-bats this season. If he continues to play every day and hit third in the M's lineup, Carp becomes a very intriguing option in deeper mixed fantasy leagues.

Casper Wells had a big night Monday, going deep and driving in five runs in a win over the Royals.
All of his production came in the first two innings, as he launched a three-run shot in the first and then tripled in two more in the second. It was one of three longballs for the M's on the night, as Dustin Ackley and Justin Smoak also hit one out.

Casper Wells went 2-for-4 with a three-run double in the Mariners' 6-3 victory over the Orioles on Monday.
Wells is finally getting regular playing time with both Franklin Gutierrez and Michael Saunders out, but he wasn't doing much with it until tonight. He's still a decent enough option in AL-only leagues at the moment.

Casper Wells went 2-for-4 and homered off Tim Lincecum in Saturday's win over the Giants.

Mon Jan 30 201223:39Wells 'fully recovered' from balance disorder
Mariners trainer Rick Griffin told Greg Johns of MLB.com that Casper Wells has fully recovered from a "balance disorder."
Wells began having vision and balance problems last season after taking a Brandon Morrow fastball off his nose on August 17. He wound up going just 7-for-56 (.125) over his final 18 games before being shut down in mid-September with what was called "vertigo-like symptoms." The 27-year-old figures to serve on the short side of a platoon with Mike Carp in left field now that he's back to full health. His speed and power should make him relevant in AL-only formats.

Fri Nov 11 201110:44Casper Wells doing better
Casper Wells appears to be over the vertigo-like symptoms that caused him to miss the final three weeks of the season.
"I'm fine, I'm doing some physical therapy involving my eyes, but it's not really an issue, anymore," Wells said. "One of the doctors testing my eyes said they were so good that when I was having the trouble my eyesight was still better than most people, so tests weren't picking anything up." Wells, 27, will likely be a bench bat for the Mariners next season.

Casper Wells (sinus condition) is scheduled to see a doctor Thursday in Seattle.
Wells hasn't played since Saturday due to what is being termed as a "severe sinus condition." If he receives clearance to fly, he could rejoin the Mariners this weekend in Texas. The 26-year-old outfielder is batting .216/.310/.431 with seven home runs, 15 RBI and a .742 OPS over 116 plate appearances since being acquired from the Tigers in the Doug Fister deal.
