Thu May 29 201417:01Anthony Morrow to opt out, become free agent
Pelicans' shooting guard Anthony Morrow plans to opt out of the final year of his contract.
Morrow is choosing to test the free agent market instead of playing for the $1.15M he is owed by the Pelicans next season. While his season averages aren't very impressive, his 3-point shooting provides valuable floor spacing that every team needs. He shot 45.1 percent from the 3-point line last season, good enough for third in the NBA among players with at least 150 attempts.

Sat Apr 12 201423:19Anthony Morrow scores 20 in loss
Anthony Morrow made another start on Saturday and had 20 points, six rebounds, five assists, two steals, a block and two 3-pointers in a loss to Houston.
That's a very Tyreke-like line, as Tyreke Evans sat out this one to rest his sore knee. Evans was available to play, but never made it into the game tonight.

Fri Apr 11 201409:55Morrow expected to come off bench again
Anthony Morrow is expected to come off the bench once again in Friday's game against the Thunder.
Eric Gordon (knee surgery) is out for the season, but coach Monty Williams is trying to get some defense into his lineup. Therefore, he's expected to roll with Brian Roberts, Tyreke Evans, Darius Miller, Al-Farouq Aminu and Greg Stiemsma once again. However, that shouldn't bother Morrow speculators. As a reserve for the last five games, he is averaging 19.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.4 3-pointers and 1.0 steals in 29.7 minutes.

Tue Apr 1 201401:55Morrow scores 23 points off the bench
Anthony Morrow scored 23 points off the bench in Monday's loss to the Kings, hitting 9-of-13 shots (including four threes) with three rebounds and two steals in 28 minutes.
Morrow had a 20-point game on Friday and just six points on Saturday, so he's a crapshoot at this time but he's worth a look as the Pelicans roll without Eric Gordon (knee).

Sun Mar 30 201400:03Anthony Morris falls off vs. Spurs
Anthony Morrow played just 18 minutes vs. the Spurs on Saturday with six points and no 3-pointers.
The return of Brian Roberts really hurt Morrow tonight and things should only get worse once Eric Gordon (knee) returns. He had a good run, but Morrow can be let loose almost everywhere.

Fri Mar 28 201423:29Anthony Morrow goes for 20 in win over Jazz
Anthony Morrow had a great shooting night in hitting 7-of-11 from the field and 3-of-4 from downtown on his way towards scoring 20 points in Friday's win over the Jazz.
Morrow provided an interesting line Friday night outside of his 20 points and three 3-pointers as he didn't provide any other peripheral stats in his 34 minutes. Morrow has enjoyed a bit of a resurgence with Eric Gordon (knee) injured and is now averaging 19.3 points and 2.7 3-pointers in 32.3 minutes over the three games Gordon has been out. He didn't end up losing any minutes due to Austin Rivers' return, so Morrow should continue to be a safe source of points and 3-pointers for as long as Gordon is out.

Thu Mar 27 201400:21Anthony Morrow beats Clippers w/ 27 points
Anthony Morrow turned in his best game of the season on Wednesday with 27 points on 9-of-17 from the field with five boards, one block and two 3-pointers in 34 minutes.
It's the first time he's topped 25 points since Feb. 3, 2012 and hitting seven two-pointers is very uncommon. He averaged just 1.6 two-point makes this season before tonight and he hadn't taken a dozen shots from inside the arc since 2012. Morrow probably won't be playing time much once the calvary comes back, but he's still worth a look as a spot-start over the weekend until Eric Gordon (knee) and Austin Rivers (illness) get the all clear.

Wed Mar 26 201418:39Anthony Morrow will start vs. Clippers
Anthony Morrow will start against the Clippers on Wednesday night.
He'll be in the shooting guard spot and figures to get all the run he can handle. When Morrow is on the bench, Luke Babbitt might slide over to shooting guard because that's really the only play coach Monty Williams has. Morrow makes for a sneaky plug-and-play guy tonight.

Sun Mar 16 201421:03Anthony Morrow drops down Pelicans' rotation
Anthony Morrow dropped down the Pelicans' rotation vs. Boston on Sunday, scoring just two points in six minutes off the bench.
Head coach Monty Williams is rolling with a starting backcourt of Brian Roberts and Eric Gordon, with Tyreke Evans at SF, and there simply isn't enough playing time for Morrow to have consistent fantasy value. He's only worth considering as a 3-point specialist in deep leagues.

Thu Mar 13 201400:39Morrow misses on opportunity to produce
Anthony Morrow hit just 2-of-12 shots in a start at shooting guard on Wednesday, scoring 10 points with four rebounds, one block and two threes in 36 minutes.
It's hard to get behind any fantasy value for Morrow when he can't get it done without Tyreke Evans and Eric Gordon on the court due to illness. If the Pellies get really tanky down the stretch Morrow might be a guy to watch but that's about it.

Wed Mar 12 201419:34Anthony Morrow will start for Wednesday
Anthony Morrow and Al-Farouq Aminu will start vs. the Grizzlies on Wednesday.
The Pelicans are without Eric Gordon and Tyreke Evans tonight and will be extremely thin against a great defense. Morrow will likely get a ton of screens tonight and might be able to rack up the treys while Anthony Davis is going to get a lot of work in the post.

Sun Mar 9 201421:42Anthony Morrow scores 14 points w/ two 3s
Anthony Morrow gave the Pelicans a lift during Sunday's win over the Nuggets, scoring 14 points with two 3-pointers, three rebounds, three steals and one block.
He did his damage in just 22 minutes, which highlights one of the biggest hurdles to sustained fantasy value -- he averaged 20 minutes in February and that number has fallen even lower in March. He's only worth a glance if you're desperate for 3-pointers.

Sat Mar 8 201400:31Morrow scores 16 points off the bench
Anthony Morrow scored 16 points off the bench on Friday, hitting 7-of-12 shots (including two threes) with two rebounds, four assists and a steal in just 16 minutes.
Morrow profiles as a nice guy to play opposite hard charging Tyreke Evans but he needs to do this a few times before owners should take notice.

Sat Feb 22 201422:16Anthony Morrow scores 18 off Pelicans bench
Anthony Morrow came off the bench and hit 7-of-8 shots and three 3-pointers for 18 points and a steal in 25 minutes on Saturday.
He gets loose for a game like this occasionally, but is far too inconsistent to be used in most fantasy leagues. In fact, he had gone six straight games with single-digit scoring until tonight's mini-explosion.

Wed Feb 19 201415:34Bobcats interested in getting Anthony Morrow
The Bobcats have interest in Anthony Morrow, according to the Sporting News.
He has a player option next season and is expected to opt out, so he's more or less an expiring deal. Morrow is second in the NBA in 3-point percentage this season and makes a lot of sense on the Bobcats with the interior presence of Al Jefferson and Kemba Walker's slashing style. He probably won't see more than 25 minutes with the team, so he's not really worth stashing in most formats. His arrival would potentially hurt Michael Kidd- Gilchrist, but hopefully you don't own him to begin with.

Tue Feb 18 201410:00Pelicans dangle Anthony Morrow for draft pick
The Pelicans are reportedly willing to trade Anthony Morrow for a draft pick.
Morrow's ability to space the court might be useful to a contending team, and his $1.0 million salary is very reasonable, but draft picks are worth a premium at the moment. It would take an ideal trade for Morrow to be worth owning in 12-team leagues, and even then he'd be unlikely to offer more than scoring and 3-pointers.

Sat Feb 8 201401:57Anthony Morrow scores 20 points off bench
Anthony Morrow played 22 minutes against the Wolves during a 98-91 win with nine points, two assists and three 3-pointers.
He lost some playing time now that Tyreke Evans is back, but had a nice little run. Morrow and Anthony Davis had a nice little rapport on the play side to give the Pelicans a kick-out option when teams bring the double team, but he won't have much value while Evans is active.

Thu Feb 6 201401:50Anthony Morrow scores 16 off bench
Anthony Morrow got hot off the bench on Wednesday and had 16 points, five rebounds and two 3-pointers in a win over the Hawks.
Tyreke Evans was out again with a rib injury and Morrow backed up Monday's 20-point game with tonight's solid line. Evans isn't supposed to miss much time and we're guessing Morrow will fade back into the end of the bench before you're able to scoop him up and get him into your lineup. Eric Gordon added 18 points and a 3-pointer tonight.

Tue Feb 4 201401:19Anthony Morrow scores 20 points off bench
Anthony Morrow stepped up for the injured Tyreke Evans on Monday, scoring 20 points with one board, one steal and two 3-pointers in 22 minutes.
Tyreke Evans did not return to the lineup on Monday after a rib injury and Morrow stepped up off the bench. Evans was expected to return to the game, so chances are his injury is not considered serious. Unless you're in a deep league and really need treys, Morrow can stay on the wire.

Mon Jan 27 201401:15Anthony Morrow flops w/ two points in 16 mins
Anthony Morrow scored two points in 16 minutes on Sunday, without any rebounds, assists, steals or blocks to his credit.
He was coming off a season-best 21-point game on Friday but that didn't earn him much goodwill from coach Monty Williams, who gave more playing time to Eric Gordon (37 minutes), Brian Roberts (31 minutes), Tyreke Evans (28 minutes) and even Austin Rivers (17 minutes). Nothing about Morrow's production this season suggests he'll be a reliable fantasy option.
