Wed Jul 9 201416:13Jason Kidd gets his assistant Joe Prunty
Coach Jason Kidd has hired Joe Prunty to be his top assistant coach in Milwaukee.
Prunty was an assistant for Kiddin Brooklyn and there were some reports that new coach Lionel Hollins wanted to keep him, but that obviously didn't happen. Kidd's new team isn't exactly loaded with talent, so he'll have his hands full in 2014-15.

Sun Jul 6 201413:34Jason Kidd: 'There is no place I'd rather be'
Jason Kidd wrote a letter to the Bucks fan base explaining why he made the move to Milwaukee.
"Over the past couple days, I've been asked: `Why Milwaukee' My answer is simple: there is no place I'd rather be," Kidd wrote. "Over my twenty years in the NBA as a player and a coach, I have always been impressed with the level of support that Bucks fans have given this team, in good times and bad. With a talented roster, new owners that are passionate about being successful in Milwaukee, and a great fan base, we have the makings of something special here and I'm proud to be leading this new era of Bucks basketball."

Fri Jul 4 201411:14Jason Kidd denies move to MIL was for power
During Jason Kidd's official introductory press conference, he denied that his move to Milwaukee was about power.
"It's not about power," Kidd said. "You guys ran with that. It's not about power. As I think I was introduced, I'm the coach. So I'm the coach and I was the coach in Brooklyn. And I'm the coach here, so it's not about power." Kidd went on to refute just about every other report that surfaced during his highly publicized departure from Brooklyn, but we're not buying it.

Tue Jul 1 201409:53Jason Kidd officially named Bucks' head coach
The Milwaukee Bucks officially named Jason Kidd as their head coach on Tuesday.
There is no word on if they spoke in unison, but Bucks' co-owners Wesley Edens and Marc Lasry released a statement on Tuesday saying, "Jason is a determined leader, a tough-minded competitor and a great teammate. We believe his focus, vision and intensity will help him work alongside John and David to rebuild the Milwaukee Bucks as we aspire to achieve excellence over the next several yrs. We are excited that Jason will call Milwaukee his new home." We'll find out over the next season if Kidd made the right decision to bolt Brooklyn for Milwaukee, but fantasy owners have to at least be happy that Larry Drew isn't around to play yo-yo with his players' minutes.

Mon Jun 30 201419:23Report: Jason Kidd gets a big pay day
Jason Kidd and the Bucks are working out a three year contract estimated to be in the $12-$15 million range.
It was reported that Kidd did not like the big contracts that Derek Fisher and Steve Kerr signed, so if his main motive was more money, mission accomplished. Kidd has elected to leave a playoff team where money wasn't an issue, to join the team that had an even worse record than the 76ers last season. It will be interesting to see if Kidd can move the Bucks franchise in a different direction, but from a fantasy standpoint, anything is better than Larry Drew.

Mon Jun 30 201410:56Jason Kidd to Bucks for two second rounders
The Bucks are sending two second-round picks to the Nets to secure the coaching rights on Jason Kidd.
The Nets are lucky to get anything back since Kidd's time was done in Brooklyn. Kidd is going to be ripped apart by the New York media for asking for so much control despite having just one year of coaching experience. The Bucks are expected to give him a bigger role, but he'll have a much worse roster to build around. Kidd ran assistant coach Lawrence Frank out of town earlier in the 2013-14 season and his ego is growing by the day. The Nets will look to replace him with someone like Lionel Hollins or George Karl.

Mon Jun 30 201409:13MIL, BK still talking compensation for Kidd
The Bucks and Nets are still haggling over compensation for Jason Kidd as of Monday morning.
The latest deal includes the Bucks giving up two second-round picks in exchange for Kidd. Clearly the Nets are done with Kidd and they're just looking to get anything they can at this point. Kidd would take over most of the basketball decisions in Milwaukee while the Nets would join the Lakers as two high-profile teams without a head coach.

Mon Jun 30 201403:28Bucks may get Jason Kidd for 2nd-round picks
The Nets might agree "within 24 hours" to let Jason Kidd join the Bucks in exchange for one or two future second-round picks, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.

Mon Jun 30 201400:49Bucks ready to move on if no Kidd deal
The Bucks want to give the Nets a second-round pick for the right to hire Jason Kidd as coach, but the Nets are insisting on getting a first-round pick.
If the Bucks don't give Brooklyn a first-rounder it's quite possible this deal completely falls apart, and Kidd could be left out in the cold, as the Bucks are said to be ready to "move on" if the Nets will only agree to a first-rounder. It's hard to believe Kidd might have made his power play to the Nets without having a secure deal in place with his buddy in Milwaukee, but it sounds like that might be the case. If the Bucks continue to stand firm and don't agree to send a first-round pick to the Nets, Kidd might find himself without an NBA job. And after the way he broke up with the Nets, finding one may not be an easy task.

Sun Jun 29 201418:27Report: Jason Kidd unlikely to be Bucks' prez
The Bucks are only considering Jason Kidd for their head coach position, not team president, according to Eric Buenning of BrewHoop.com.
This report shouldn't be taken as the gospel, as the Bucks don't have a team president and Kidd has a long-time relationship with new co-owner Marc Lasry. It also seems odd that Kidd would agitate for more power in Brooklyn without a similar offer available in Milwaukee, but anything is possible. Kidd has three years left on his contract with the Nets and they're reportedly unwilling to let him leave without compensation -- ESPN's Marc Stein reports that they're "resolute in their pursuit of a first-round pick," though that's an extremely steep price for a disgruntled first-year head coach. Details about this situation continue to rapidly emerge, so stay tuned.

Sun Jun 29 201416:58Lionel Hollins, George Karl on Nets' radar
With Jason Kidd's tenure in Brooklyn reportedly nearing an end, Lionel Hollins, George Karl and Mark Jackson have emerged as leading candidates to take over as the Nets' head coach.
The Nets' Russian management and ownership group is "done with" Kidd and it seems like only a matter of time before they part ways -- the Bucks may be constructing an offer which would send a second-round draft pick to Brooklyn for Kidd. Hollins is reportedly the early front-runner, with Karl also under serious consideration, but USA Today's sources "downplayed" the possibility that Jackson will get the job.

Sun Jun 29 201410:11Report: Kidd wanted to trade Lopez, Teletovic
Jason Kidd reportedly advocated to Brooklyn management to send Brook Lopez, and Mirza Teletovic to Milwaukee for Larry Sanders and Ersan Ilyasova at the trade deadline last season.
The move, which was mostly about Kidd's belief that Lopez did not fit his system, was considered, and rejected by Brooklyn management. Kidd was also reportedly angered when the Nets traded for Marcus Thornton rather than Jarrett Jack, who he believed would have been a better fit for his system. The Nets ownership is apparently fed up in dealing with Kidd's ego, and while they will not outright fire Kidd, his days in Brooklyn are over.

Sun Jun 29 201408:47Report: Nets `done with' Jason Kidd
The Nets' organization is reportedly "done with" Jason Kidd, and they are discussing compensation with the Bucks to hire him away.
The compensation will likely include a second-round draft pick according to sources. Kidd has three years left on the original four-year contract worth $10.5 million. While Kidd isn't looking to take over the Bucks as president and head coach, he is intrigued by an executive role that has higher-compensation, and is involved less with the day-to-day operations. Kidd was reportedly annoyed by the big paydays that newly hired coaches Steve Kerr and Derek Fisher received (both are set to make more than Kidd) and that could be what sparked the whole fiasco in the first place.

Sat Jun 28 201423:34Stein: Nets, Bucks talking Kidd compensation
ESPN's Marc Stein is reporting that the Bucks and Nets have already begun discussing potential compensation to free Kidd from last three years of his contract with the Nets.
Kidd may not yet officially hired as the president of the Bucks, but at this point, it would be very surprising if it doesn't happen. And Mark Jackson's name is being bantered about heavily on Twitter, as the possible new coach of the Nets, along with Lionel Hollins and George Karl.

Sat Jun 28 201423:04Wojo: Kidd wants Phil Jackson like job w/ MIL
Adrian Wojnarowski wrote on Saturday night that Jason Kidd wants a role in Milwaukee like Phil Jackson has with the Knicks, which means he wouldn't necessarily coach the team.
And because Kidd and Bucks co-owner Mark Lasry's close relationship, it's easy to assume that the pair had this plan in place long ago. While Kidd still hasn't officially been hired by the Bucks, it does feel like he's going to become the president to the team. Whether he will eventually take over the coaching duties remains to be seen, but it's possible he doesn't even want that responsibility. What a Saturday night.

Sat Jun 28 201422:37Rumors: Jason Kidd already hired by Bucks?
Gary Woelfel, who covers the Bucks, said on Twitter that he's heard that the Bucks have already offered Jason Kidd the role of team president, although that has not been confirmed.
This story is developing at light speed and it's quite possible that Kidd already had a deal in place with the Bucks before he went to the Nets with his seemingly outrageous demands to control the organization. In another interesting twist, someone posted this exact scenario playing out on a Nets message board at RealGM.com a couple days ago (including Kidd running the Bucks), and also said that the Nets will next pursue Mark Jackson as their next head coach. While this is purely speculation, two things seem to be quite clear. 1. Kidd will not be returning to the Nets, regardless of what happens with the Bucks. 2. Kidd's close relationship with the new co-owner of the Bucks is a big deal, and it appears that he could very well be on his way to at least the team presidency, and could also end up coaching the team, although reports of whether he would also coach the team are unclear. Stay tuned.

Sat Jun 28 201421:36Kidd denied in Brooklyn, can talk to Bucks
Jason Kidd reportedly pushed for a power play in Brooklyn, demanding the role of overseeing the Nets, in addition to being head coach, and was denied.
Kidd supposedly didn't want general manager Billy King to be fired, but did want to become his boss, despite having just one year of coaching experience. As a result of the failed power play, the Bucks asked for, and received, permission to talk to Kidd. Larry Drew is officially having a bad day, as he's currently the head coach in Milwaukee. This is a pretty bizarre story that came out of left field, and you have to think that Kidd may have done enough damage with the brass in Brooklyn to end the relationship.

Sun Jun 15 201417:10Nets owner denies interest in selling team
Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov quickly denied a report that he may be interested in selling the franchise he purchased in 2010.
Yahoo! Sports reported that the Russian billionaire was "listening to offers," but one hour later Prokhorov released a statement that he has "no interest in selling." The basic principles of negotiation would require him to deny interest, of course, but for now this appears to be more of a rumor than a legitimate story.

Sat Jun 14 201417:03Prokhorov listening to offers for Nets?
Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov has been "open to overtures from potential buyers" for the Brooklyn Nets, according to Yahoo! Sports.
"Just listening so far," a league official said. "They haven't indicated a desire or willingness to sell. .Nothing was initiated by [Prokhorov]." With the Clippers sale fetching $2 billion, the Russian billionaire could make a nice profit on his $223 million investment on the team back in 2010. He has put in a lot of his own money due to hitting a ridiculous team salary of $190 million due to the luxury tax.

Fri May 2 201415:28Jason Kidd fined $25,000 for criticizing refs
The NBA fined Jason Kidd $25,000 on Friday for publicly criticizing the officials in Wednesday's game.
His comments after Game 5's loss led to this expected fine. "If flopping is the way to go, then we have to maybe play that game," Kidd said on Wednesday. "But Joe [Johnson] is a strong individual and unfortunately, he doesn't flop. He plays and he doesn't complain. But that's why we have officials, for them to make calls." Interestingly, he was fined the same amount of money as Raptors general manager Masai Ujiri for his comments about Brooklyn before Game 1 of this series.
