Jason Kidd could retire after this season.
Kidd, who signed a three-year deal with the Knicks, said "I don't know" when asked about his future plans. "I'm taking it one year at a time." Kidd will be 40 years old on Saturday and is now truly in a year-to-year situation when it comes to his career. "I've achieved everything," he said.

Wed Mar 20 201311:13Jason Kidd expected to play on Wednesday
Jason Kidd (wrist) is expected to play on Wednesday.
Kidd said that he expected to play on Wednesday, so we're not surprised. X-rays on his wrist were negative, and he should be good for his usual 23-28 minutes against the Magic.

Tue Mar 19 201317:44Jason Kidd expects to play Wednesday
Jason Kidd (wrist) said he expects to play Wednesday.
Kidd banged his left wrist late in Monday's win over the Jazz, but X-rays came back negative. He should be fine for his usual role off the bench going forward, but the impending return of Carmelo Anthony will squeeze the entire rotation a little.

Tue Mar 19 201301:51X-rays taken on Kidd's wrist return negative
X-rays taken on Jason Kidd's left (non-shooting) wrist returned negative following Monday's win over the Jazz.
Kidd's injury wasn't revealed until after the game and we're calling him day-to-day for now. He finished with seven points on 2-of-5 shooting, one three, three rebounds, five assists and one steal in 28 minutes tonight, and his minutes would be absorbed by Pablo Prigioni (three points, three assists, 20 minutes), Steve Novak (four points, 17 minutes), and Iman Shumpert (eight points, two threes, 17 minutes).

Fri Mar 15 201301:37Jason Kidd can't buy a bucket in a loss
Jason Kidd had a rough night shooting the ball against the Blazers on Thursday, shooting 1-of-8 from the field for two points with five boards, five assists, four steals and one 3-pointer.
Outside of the stinky shooting, it was a solid line for Kidd and he played 34 minutes. The Knicks are running on fumes with offensive weapons and they'll need Kidd for his passing as well as spacing the floor. He's worth a look in standard leagues.

Tue Mar 12 201301:28Kidd goes quiet in blowout loss to GSW
Jason Kidd went quiet in Monday's blowout loss to the Warriors, finishing with zero points on 0-for-3 shooting, three rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block in 19 minutes.
There isn't a ton of margin for error with Kidd, who needs to put up big peripheral stats to accommodate for his lack of scoring and uneven production in general. However, with the entire team struggling tonight, owners may want to minimize the impact this particular performance has on their decision-making.

Thu Mar 7 201323:29Jason Kidd grabs 10 boards in 27 minutes
Jason Kidd grabbed 10 boards in 27 minutes with no points, three assists, two steals and one block against the Thunder on Thursday.
He only took two attempts from the field and his only miss came off a fantastic kick-out pass by J.R. Smith, which Kidd horribly missed. He's not going to light it up with points, but Kidd can do enough in boards, assists, steals and treys to be worth a look in standard leagues as long as he's healthy.

Mon Mar 4 201322:03Jason Kidd plays well of the bench again
Jason Kidd played 30 minutes off the bench against the Cavs, scoring 12 points with eight boards, one assist, three steals and three 3-pointers on Monday.
He came out of nowhere for 14 points on Sunday and while this was a nice game from him, he did need to step up with Carmelo Anthony (knee) missing the last three quarters. Melo's absence bumped J.R. Smith to small forward and Kidd saw a lot of time at shooting guard. He's only worth a look in deeper leagues.

Sun Mar 3 201316:36Kidd plays well off the bench on Sunday
Jason Kidd shot 5-of-7 from the field for 14 points with eight boards, six assists, three steals and four 3-pointers in 34 minutes against the Heat on Sunday.
It was a great start for Kidd off the bench and he needed a change after a disastrous February. In the month, he averaged 2.7 points, 2.2 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.6 triples on a putrid 19.6 percent from the field. Those thinking about picking him up after this outing should probably wait to see if he can do it again.

Fri Mar 1 201317:49Jason Kidd demoted to second unit
Jason Kidd has been demoted out of the starting lineup.
After starting 48 of the Knicks' first 54 games, Kidd is finally out. In 11 February outings, he shot 19.6 percent from the field and managed just 2.2 assists per game. The Knicks will roll with Raymond Felton, Iman Shumpert, James White, Carmelo Anthony and Tyson Chandler as starters going forward.

Thu Feb 21 201314:23Woodson ponders changes to Knicks' lineup
Mike Woodson is considering a change to the Knicks' lineup, possibly moving Iman Shumpert or Jason Kidd to the bench.
The Knicks have lost three straight games and Woodson reportedly wants more offensive firepower in the starting lineup -- Kidd and Shumpert were a combined 1-of-10 from the field in Wednesday's blowout loss to the Pacers. It's unclear at the moment who might be promoted to the starting five, but we're keeping an eye on J.R. Smith and Chris Copeland.

Thu Feb 14 201308:49Woodson considering bringing Kidd off bench
Mike Woodson is considering a lineup change after the All-Star break which would result in bringing Jason Kidd off the bench.
Right now I don't like the way we're starting games," Woodson said. "I've got to go back to the drawing board and figure out what I'm going to do in terms of who starts." Kidd is averaging a lowly 3.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.0 steals in 24.5 minutes per game in February on a pathetic 21.2 percent shooting. Kidd is in the first year of a three-year contract.

Sat Feb 9 201302:37Kidd gets back into the swing of things
Jason Kidd scored seven points on 2-of-5 shooting (including a three) with four rebounds, four assists, one steal, and one block in 30 minutes on Friday.
Kidd might be feeling better after taking some time to rest his back last week, and Iman Shumpert (12 minutes) isn't exactly tearing things up right now. Kidd could tail off at any time, but after a line like this he's worth a look in case he has a little bit more magic in him.

Sat Feb 2 201300:38Jason Kidd returns and scores three points
Jason Kidd returned to action on Friday, scoring three points with three rebounds, one assist, one steal, one block and one 3-pointer in 24 minutes against Milwaukee.
He was able to muster up some nice value a month ago when starting at shooting guard next to Raymond Felton, but Iman Shumpert (seven points, four boards and one 3-pointer in 19 minutes) making his return to the lineup is going to hurt Kidd. He can be left on the wire in most leagues.

Fri Feb 1 201318:06Jason Kidd starting on Friday
Jason Kidd (back) will start Friday's game against the Bucks.
Kidd will start at shooting guard next to Raymond Felton, but it's hard to get excited. He's now on a 20-25 minute restriction and unlike earlier in the season, Iman Shumpert is healthy.

Thu Jan 31 201311:18Knicks want to reduce Jason Kidd's minutes
The Knicks want to reduce Jason Kidd's minutes to 20-25 minutes per night.
Mike Woodson is hopeful that the restriction will help to limit the wear and tear on the veteran, but the reality is he's 39 years old and has a storied history in this league, so he's going to feel a little creaky along the way.

Wed Jan 30 201323:41Jason Kidd 'probably' back Friday
Jason Kidd (back) will probably be back on Friday, according to Mike Woodson.
Kidd missed Wednesday's game with a sore lower back. He's 39 years old and there is quite a logjam at guard for the Knicks, so there's not much reason to hold him in standard leagues or even some deeper formats.

Wed Jan 30 201311:25Jason Kidd ruled out for Wednesday night
Jason Kidd (back) did not participate in shootaround and will not play on Wednesday.
Kidd was listed as probable going into Wednesday's contest after previously being called questionable, but his absence from shootaround and his being ruled out this early indicates that his back injury is more serious than the Knicks have let on. With a healthy Raymond Felton, Pablo Prigioni and Iman Shumpert, the Knicks will rest Kidd on Wednesday. James White will start.
