Wed Mar 2 201111:22Eyenga gets benched in favor of Alonzo Gee
Alonzo Gee will start over Christian Eyenga at small forward Wednesday night.
Coach Byron Scott said he doesn't like the way Eyenga has defended lately, so he's sending a message. Eyenga was averaging just 5.7 points and 3.4 boards over his last seven games anyawy, so owners should have cut bait already. Gee isn't talented enough to be worth an add either, making this a fantasy wasteland.

Wed Feb 16 201104:05Beat writer: Eyenga one to build around
Beat writer Jason Lloyd identified Christian Eyenga one of four Cavs that he thinks should be retained going forward.
The other three were Ramon Sessions, Daniel Gibson, and J.J. Hickson if you're keeping track at home, but we thought this was noteworthy given Eyenga's recent slide. He's still averaging 9.9 points, 3.6 boards, 1.6 steals, 1.0 blocks, 0.6 threes in 27 minutes per game in February, with athleticism that Lloyd calls "off the charts." He's not a must-own player, but he's well worth watching.

Sat Feb 12 201102:44Eyenga playes just 19 minutes on Friday
Christian Eyenga played just 19 minutes on Friday, scoring six points on 3-of-9 shooting (no threes) with four rebounds, no assists, and two steals.
He may end up with value after the trade deadline, but as guys have gotten healthy, Eyenga has lost his appeal in standard-sized leagues. And yes, the Cavs are far from a picture of health, but he's simply not producing enough and hasn't proven enough to justify a roster spot.
Thu Feb 10 201116:44Eyenga locked in as starter
Christian Eyenga has started 11 straight games at small forward for the Cavs.
Even though Anthony Parker and Daniel Gibson have gotten healthy, Eyenga's role hasn't changed. It's clear the Cavs want to see if he can cut it as a starting "three." In 12 starts this season, Eyenga is averaging 9.3 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.3 blocks, 1.0 steals and 0.6 treys. He's a deep league glue guy.
Tue Feb 8 201101:40Eyenga scores 15 points but no goodies
Christian Eyenga scored 15 points on Monday against the Mavs, hitting 7-of-15 shots from the field (including a three), but had just four rebounds and had no other statistics in 28 minutes.
A lot of the draw for him comes with his versatility, but he did enough here tonight to keep us interested. And with each additional game that he retains starter's minutes while guards Anthony Parker and Daniel Gibson get healthy, the more we believe in his long-term value.
Sat Feb 5 201123:45Eyenga still putting up versatile lines
Christian Eyenga continued his run of versatile lines on Saturday, scoring 12 points on 5-of-12 shooting (including a three) with six rebounds, three assists, two steals, and one block in 28 minutes.
His minutes were slightly down with Daniel Gibson back and Anthony Parker starting to get healthy, but he's a real blast to own with his multi-cat production and chance for upside. After all, with a handful of Cavs on the trade block and/or banged up, and Eyenga showing promise, why wouldn't they roll with him going forward? There are no guarantees here, but there are worse players to own in standard leagues.
Sat Feb 5 201101:28Eyenga scores just 10, but fills stat sheet
Christian Eyenga scored just 10 points on Friday in another start, but also added two rebounds, one assist, three steals, two blocks and a 3-pointer in 36 minutes.
He qualifies at point guard, as well as a few other positions, in most leagues and has been playing well. He's also getting heavy minutes for the Cavs right now, making him worth an add in many leagues. But as soon as he's yanked from the starting five, or takes a minutes cut, we'd recommend jumping off the bandwagon. But for now, he looks like a fun player to plug into the bottom of your lineup.
Wed Feb 2 201123:56Eyenga starts, fills stat sheet in loss
Christian Eyenga started for Cleveland and had 12 points, four rebounds, five assists, two steals, two blocks and a 3-pointer in a tough loss to the Pacers.
This was a great stat line and he played a whopping 37 minutes. While he comes with no guarantees, he's worth a serious look as long as he's starting and getting this kind of run. As for the Cavs, their losing streak extended to 22 straight games.
Tue Jan 25 201123:22Eyenga, youngsters get run in blowout loss
Christian Eyenga saw 15 shots attempts in the Cavs' blowout loss to the Celtics on Tuesday, making six of them, and finishing with 15 points, three rebounds, and one block in 28 minutes.
He's getting shot attempts lately but still hasn't parleyed that into any real fantasy production, and with Anthony Parker (back) returning to action tonight his chance for value is pretty much over.
Sun Jan 23 201100:08Eyenga mediocre in start at small forward
Christian Eyenga drew the start at small forward on Saturday, and hit just 2-of-9 shots from the field (no threes) with five rebounds, three assists, and no steals or blocks in 32 minutes.
As you can see, even when the minutes are there he is not guaranteed to produce. If you're in a very deep league you may want to give him a look, but as guys get healthy he will have no value.
Sat Jan 22 201119:52Eyenga to replace Gee in starting lineup
Christian Eyenga will replace Alonzo Gee in the starting lineup at SF on Saturday against the Bulls.
He's nowhere near a safe play, but if you're super desperate he is somebody to take a look at for spot-duty. And we do mean, super desperate.

Sat Jan 22 201100:05Eyenga returns from ankle injury
Christian Eyenga returned from an ankle injury and had nine points and four rebounds in 25 minutes Friday.
He was starting at one point this season and might again, but we doubt he'll be worth owning in most leagues if it happens.
Fri Jan 21 201112:48Eyenga (ankle) will return on Friday
Christian Eyenga (ankle) will return to action vs. the Bucks on Friday.
Eyenga will likely be worked back slowly, but coach Byron Scott is sold on his "amazing upside." The Cavs are playing for the future and Eyenga could very well emerge with fantasy value in the coming months.

Thu Jan 20 201114:50Eyenga expected to play for Cavs
Christian Eyenga (ankle) is expected to play in Friday's game against the Bucks.
The Cavs made the mistake once before of rushing Eyenga back too soon, so we suspect that he's close to 100 percent this time. Eyenga is a candidate to start at small forward and will at least force an even timeshare with Alonzo Gee while Anthony Parker (back) is out.

Tue Jan 18 201120:40Eyenga (ankle) suffers setback, out for week
Christian Eyenga (ankle) suffered a setback after Monday's practice and is expected to miss the rest of the week.
He experienced swelling in his ankle a day after practicing, and beneficiary Alonzo Gee is worth a look if you're in a short-term pinch. In Gee's last game on Saturday, he scored 12 points with eight boards, three assists, six steals, and a block in 40 minutes.

Mon Jan 17 201114:00Cavaliers' Eyenga iffy for Wednesday
Christian Eyenga is questionable for Wednesday due to his sprained ankle, but beat writer Bob Finnan writes that he is "likely out."
He could end up being a game-time decision, not that it matters in fantasy land right now.

Thu Jan 13 201116:48Eyenga out Friday for Cavs
Christian Eyenga (ankle) will not play against the Jazz Friday.
So much for Eyenga racking up value as a sleeper in Cleveland's decimated lineup. The former D-Leaguer aggravated an ankle sprain Tuesday in a game he wasn't even supposed to play in. Manny Harris is going to get a ton of burn again Friday night.

Christian Eyenga returned to action on Tuesday January 11.
Wed Jan 12 201101:00Eyenga aggravates ankle in Tuesday's game
Christian Eyenga, who was reported to be out for Tuesday's game with an ankle injury, actually played for six minutes before leaving the game after aggravating his ankle.
It's hard to say what Byron Scott was thinking in this record-breaking 55-point loss, but the end result is that we're calling Eyenga day-to-day, and praying that LeBron James doesn't call for contraction anytime soon.

Tue Jan 11 201122:17Eyenga, Parker out Tuesday vs. Lakers
Christian Eyenga (ankle) and Anthony Parker (back) will not play on Tuesday against the Lakers.
The Cavs are going to try to match the Lakers' size by going with Ryan Hollins at C, J.J. Hickson at PF, and Antawn Jamison at SF. Jamison, Hickson, Mo Williams, Manny Harris, and Ramon Sessions are positioned to post good numbers as the last guys standing for Cleveland.
