Austin Daye (lat strain) will not play against the Warriors on Wednesday.

He had a big game back on Mar. 22 when the Spurs rested Danny Green, but he's been quiet since. Daye can be left on the wire in all leagues and the severity of his injury is not yet known.

This might be a new low for the Sixers as Daye matched the second-highest scoring output of his career. Daye scored just 14 points this entire season, so this has fluke written all over it. We've talked about him for years as a guy with a high ceiling, but there's no way fantasy owners can use him unless they know Danny Green is going to sit out.

Daye has played a negligible role during the playoffs and his absence would only have been noticed by the most observant Grizzlies' fans. Greene didn't set foot on the court, for what it's worth, and neither guy is likely to play when Memphis tries to stave off elimination on Monday.

Austin Daye is happy with the Grizzlies and said that Lionel Hollins gives him "great insight" and "confidence."

Daye was a total afterthought with the Pistons, so it's not a surprise to see him embrace new scenery. Set for free agency at the end of the season, Daye is not certain to return to Memphis.

Daye, like Tayshaun Prince and Ed Davis, are expected to make their Grizzlies debut on Friday. Daye has real sleeper appeal with no clear starter at small forward in Memphis, and he's shown an ability to contribute in multiple categories when given the opportunity.

Prince looks like the starter for the new starting small forward for the Grizzlies after the Rudy Gay trade, but it's possible Daye could see new life now that he's out of Detroit, where he never seemed to really get a fair shake. There's a decent chance the same will be true in Memphis, but he's at least worth keeping an eye on for his new team.

We have always liked Daye's game and are not surprised by tonight's explosion, but would be surprised to see it happen again anytime soon under coach Lawrence Frank. Continue to ignore Daye in your fantasy league.
