Sun Dec 30 201210:15Brandon Roy will attempt another treatment
Brandon Roy has decided to try a new treatment for his ailing right knee, in the hopes that he can resume his NBA career.
It will take 3-4 weeks before Roy or the Wolves know whether the treatment is effective, and there's still a chance he'll retire. He's owed $5 million this season, but because he can't appear on the active list 65 times and won't play 1,400 minutes, the Wolves are off the hook for the second year of his contract.

Sat Dec 29 201212:33Report: Brandon Roy experiences setbacks
Brandon Roy (knee) experienced setbacks in his rehab and a return date is uncertain, a league source told Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski.
The report comes after Roy missed practice Friday for what the team called personal reasons. There were also pictures of a press conference setup at the Wolves' facility Saturday morning. If the setbacks are serious enough, it might be time for Roy to call it quits. We'll keep you updated as we know more, but it doesn't sound good.

Fri Dec 28 201213:14Brandon Roy (personal) skips practice Friday
Brandon Roy (personal) did not practice on Friday, putting his status for Saturday's game in doubt.
Roy's absence isn't believed to be related to his knee surgery as the Timberwolves are saying that he was out for "personal reasons." He's not going to offer owners a ton when he's back on the court, but check back for an update on his status.

Thu Dec 27 201215:04Brandon Roy says Saturday return possible
Brandon Roy (knee surgery) says he could play some minutes Saturday if he goes through practice Friday without any setbacks.
Saturday would be one week since Roy returned to practice, which still seems a little fast to us, especially given the state of Roy's knees. Check back here Friday to see how Roy feels after back-to-back practices, but keep in mind that he has very limited value even when healthy.

Sat Dec 22 201213:32Brandon Roy has first post-surgery practice
Brandon Roy went through his first practice Saturday since undergoing knee surgery.
Roy said he felt not pain in the knee, but he'll still likely need a few more sessions before being ready to return to game action. However, that's about as big an 'if' as there is, so there's reason to be hesitant. Monitor him from the waiver wire, but keep in mind he has limited value when healthy.

Brandon Roy (knee surgery) is not considering retirement, and went through non-contact practice with the Timberwolves on Thursday.
"No," said Royo when asked if he had considered retirement. He's been doing some running and participating in shooting drills while he works to strengthen his right leg and knee after surgery. Roy could be back around Christmas or the new year, but owners can monitor his recovery from the waiver wire.

Brandon Roy (knee) said he feels confident he can play.
"I've been doing some cardio, working on strengthening my right knee. Next week I hope to go full boar." Roy said. The training staff will have the final say on Roy and owners shouldn't be preparing to pounce on him until he shows he can sustain his health for multiple games.

Thu Dec 13 201209:03Brandon Roy hopes to do on-court work soon
Brandon Roy (knee surgery) is participating in individual drills.
We've said all along the team won't rush Roy back from knee surgery, and that is holding true. "We're hoping, if not next week, the week after, that he might be able to start doing some things," Rick Adelman said. In the interim, Alexey Shved, Malcolm Lee, Luke Ridnour and J.J. Barea are all in the mix for minutes.

Tue Dec 11 201209:33Brandon Roy not cutting, just shooting
Brandon Roy (knee surgery) has not started cutting or any intense on-court activities.
Roy was getting shots up on Monday, but the Timberwolves don't know how his knee will react when he ramps up activity. The team will "know more about him" once he starts doing more than shooting, but given his injury history, it could be a lengthier rehab process than usual.

Brandon Roy (knee surgery) got some shots up on Monday, but he's not currently practicing.
Roy is out indefinitely as he looks to come back from yet another knee surgery, but it's an encouraging sign he's at least doing some type of on-court work. Malcolm Lee, Alexey Shved, Luke Ridnour and J.J. Barea will all continue to see time at shooting guard

Sat Dec 8 201212:15Brandon Roy to re-join Wolves on Sunday
Brandon Roy (knee surgery) will rejoin the the team Sunday and be re-evaluated by the team's medical staff.
GM David Kahn said Roy, who has been on the West Coast for the past week, will not practice with the team just yet. Roy sounds like he's going to give the NBA one more shot before making a decision on retirement, but it remains to be seen how effective he can. He was expected to miss a month, but given his chronic knee issues, we'll expect a longer recovery timeframe.

Fri Dec 7 201210:14Roy's return dependent on pain tolerance
Brandon Roy's (knee surgery) return is dependent on "how much pain he can tolerate."
Roy has kicked around the idea of retirement, but it sounds like he'll give it one final go before making a decision about his future. Roy's timetable was expected to be "about a month," but we're expecting him to be out longer than that. The team won't rush him, and he's already admitted to dealing with level III degenerative arthritis in both knees.

Thu Nov 22 201209:24Brandon Roy dealing w/ degenerative arthritis
Updating a previous item, Brandon Roy admitted that he's dealing with level III degenerative arthritis in both knees.
Roy's knees have reached Level III arthritis, and there are only four levels. The fourth would require Roy to get a knee replacement. Multiple doctors have told Roy to stop playing basketball, and his current condition erodes the cartilage in his knee before the cartilage disappears entirely. Roy said he wouldn't be disappointed if this is the end of the line, but it would be a sad ending to his basketball career.

Thu Nov 22 201209:09Brandon Roy won't reveal his return date
Brandon Roy (knee surgery) said that he has a date in mind to return, but he won't reveal his timetable.
"I don't want to put it out there and get expectations up," he said. That certainly sounds like someone who really isn't sure what will come from his rehab process after yet another knee surgery, and Roy's ability to contribute again for the T-Wolves has to be considered a question mark. Roy has both swelling and fluid in the knee after surgery, and the team won't rush him back.

Wed Nov 21 201208:18Brandon Roy's knee surgery was a "clean up"
Brandon Roy's knee surgery has been deemed a "clean up" procedure.
We still don't know exactly what the surgery did. Rick Adelman said that "some things were cleaned up" in Roy's knee, but that's about all of the detail he provided. After undergoing yet another knee surgery, Roy is expected to miss at least one month.

Mon Nov 19 201218:06Brandon Roy to miss a month after knee scope
Brandon Roy is expected to miss about a month after undergoing surgery on his right knee Monday.
An earlier report on Monday suggested that Roy would miss at least two weeks, but now it looks like won't be back until the second half of December. Roy has averaged 5.8 points and 4.6 assists in five games this year for Minnesota.

Mon Nov 19 201209:54Roy's surgery to cost him at least 2 weeks
Brandon Roy's knee surgery will have him out at least two weeks, sources tell Yahoo! Sports.
Roy will have surgery on Monday. Beat writer Jerry Zgoda tweeted that the team won't know the details until Roy gets out of surgery, but Roy will be out at least a couple of weeks, if not longer. We're guessing he'll be out longer than the two weeks as it's his seventh knee surgery and the Timberwolves will be exceedingly cautious with his recovery.
