Wed Feb 23 201101:14Gomes scores three points in blowout loss
Ryan Gomes scored three points on 1-of-5 shooting with two rebounds, one assist, and one block in 27 minutes of Tuesday's blowout loss.
He scored 18 points a week ago, but if you needed any more reason not to believe in him he gave it to you tonight. The fact that the Clippers are seeking small forwards before the deadline isn't surprising.
Mon Feb 14 201123:56Gomes diesappears in loss to Bucks
Ryan Gomes scored just five points on 1-of-3 shooting (all threes) with three rebounds, two assists, and one steal in 30 minutes.
Even in deep leagues, you can probably do better. His capacity to disappear from night to night is his best asset.
Sat Feb 12 201102:24Gomes scores 10 points with seven boards
Ryan Gomes scored 10 points on 3-of-6 shooting (including a three) with seven rebounds and three assists in 43 minutes on Friday.
He is still too inconsistent for standard-sized leagues, and in deeper leagues his ups and downs can be manageable. Either way, his next stinker is always right around the corner.
Thu Feb 10 201101:03Gomes bounces back against New York
Ryan Gomes, who hit 2-of-11 shots for six points on Tuesday, had 18 points and two 3-pointers on Wednesday.
He's playing just well enough to be worth a look in almost any fantasy league, but his frequent disappearing act keeps scaring owners away. There are probably more reliable players to look at on your waiver wire.
Wed Feb 9 201100:38Gomes hits rock-bottom for the Clippers
Ryan Gomes hit just 2-of-11 shots for six points with one rebound and no other statistics on Tuesday.
He'll probably be better than this on most nights, but his recent slow down is bad enough that owners using him in deeper leagues should cut bait.
Sat Feb 5 201100:24Gomes disappears on Friday against Hawks
Ryan Gomes scored just four points on 2-of-6 shooting with three rebounds, no assists, and one blocks on Friday.
This is bad Gomes, and as a fringe fantasy player despite the absence of Eric Gordon (wrist), owners can't afford nights like these. He might be worth owning in deeper formats, but otherwise he belongs on the wire.
Thu Feb 3 201103:35Ryan Gomes scores 16 in loss to Bulls
Ryan Gomes had 16 points, six rebounds and two more threes on 6-of-10 shooting Wednesday.
He's scored 13 or more in five of his last eight games and might be worth an add if you're in a deeper league and in need of scoring, boards and threes. That said, he's not the most reliable player around.
Sun Jan 30 201103:35Gomes scores 18 points as Clips roll
Ryan Gomes scored 18 points on 6-of-8 shooting (including three treys) with three rebounds, four assists, and two steals on Saturday.
He has performed well enough over his last four games to be worth a look in standard leagues, and given the chance his numbers stabilize with Eric Gordon out he is worth an add in 14-team leagues for his expected production. If you missed out on Randy Foye, give him a look.
Sun Jan 23 201102:08Gomes scores 15 points with eight boards
Ryan Gomes scored 15 points on 5-of-12 shooting (including two threes) with eight rebounds, two assists, and no steals or blocks on Saturday.
He is hit or miss, and when he misses it can be bad as evidenced by his two-point, five-rebound outing on Thursday. We're staying away from this roller coaster unless we're in a massive format.
Fri Jan 21 201101:46Gomes is invisible, as usual
Ryan Gomes made a solid attempt to do nothing in his 35 minutes on Thursday, finishing with two points and five rebounds.
It's really too bad that invisibility isn't a fantasy category, because that would make Gomes relevant, just like a 'drawing charges' category would get Brian Cardinal into lineups. It's really too bad Marcus Thornton can't get some Gomes-minutes from his coach. Few players do less with 30+ minutes per than Gomes.
Thu Jan 20 201103:04Gomes scores 13 points in Clippers win
Ryan Gomes had possibly his best line of the year on Wednesday, finishing with 13 points, eight rebounds, five assists, two steals and three 3-pointers on 4-of-10 shooting.
He'll have the occasional big line, but is also likely to disappear without notice. He's been highly inconsistent this season, and unless he starts doing this on a regular basis, we'd just leave him on waivers for now.
Thu Jan 6 201101:23Gomes scores 13, hits three treys in win
Ryan Gomes had 13 points and three 3-pointers in another start for the Clippers Wednesday.
Don't take the bait. Gomes is possibly the most inconsistent starter in the league, scoring 13, 10, 3, 0, 4, 7, 22 and 3 points in his last eight games.
Tue Dec 21 201001:15Gomes scores 22 points with 10 boards
Ryan Gomes scored 22 points on 7-of-11 shooting (including a three) with 10 rebounds, two assists, and two steals on Monday.
He's just as likely to score three points with three rebounds in his next game as he is to repeat this awesome performance. There is some value to be had here in very deep formats, but everywhere else owners should wait for him to show some consistency.
Sun Dec 19 201001:12Gomes scores just three points
Ryan Gomes followed up his 18-point effort on Friday with just three points on 1-of-4 shooting with three rebounds, four assists, and a steal in 22 minutes on Saturday.
This is actually the expected result after a big game, which is almost guaranteed to be followed by a stinker as one look at this year's game log will show. He shouldn't be sniffing rosters in normal leagues.
Fri Dec 17 201023:19Gomes scores 18 in Clippers win
Ryan Gomes started again on Friday and had 18 points, four rebounds, three assists and two 3-pointers on 8-of-13 shooting in a win at Detroit.
Gomes hadn't scored more than eight points in his last four games, so we're not ready to jump on his bandwagon just yet. Keep an eye on him as long as he's starting.
Mon Dec 13 201000:38Ryan Gomes held to two points in 24 min.
Ryan Gomes started at SF for the Clippers vs. Orlando on Sunday, scoring two points in 24 minutes.
It was an inauspicious start for Gomes, to say the least, as he made just 1-of-6 FGs and didn't do much else to compensate. Give him a few more games to prove himself before you devote a roster spot to him.
Sun Dec 12 201021:14Gomes to start at SF for Clippers
Ryan Gomes has been named the Clippers new starting SF, while Al-Farouq Aminu shifts to a bench role.
The Clips have a 5-19 record and have much to gain by shaking things up. Gomes doesn't become a must-own player, but he's definitely worth watching. Aminu wasn't providing reliable value anyway and this may be a blessing for his suffering owners.
Tue Dec 7 201003:04Gomes scores 17 points with nine boards
Ryan Gomes scored 17 points off the bench on Monday, hitting 7-of-12 shots from the field (including a three) with nine rebounds, one assist, and one steal in 29 minutes of action.
He's still far too inconsistent to be owned in anything but very deep leagues, but has had two 'flash' games recently counting his 20-point outing on Nov. 20. The bad news is that he doesn't produce even when the minutes are there, so a change in pattern doesn't seem likely.
Sat Nov 27 201002:09Gomes scores 20 in loss to Suns
Ryan Gomes came off the bench for a season-high 20 points, and added four rebounds, two assists and three 3-pointers on 8-of-13 shooting in a blowout loss to the Suns Friday.
Vinny Del Negro went to his bench early and didn't look back, and it's possible that Gomes earned some more minutes with this performance. Just keep an eye on him going forward.
Tue Nov 23 201002:56Gomes back to the bench on Monday
Ryan Gomes got replaced in the starting lineup by Al-Farouq Aminu on Monday, and played 14 minutes on his way to two points on 1-of-2 shooting with five rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
He had a big putback late, but that's the only noteworthy thing about his game tonight. He's not worth much in fantasy leagues when he starts and plays 40 minutes, so needless to say he's not worth anything coming off the bench.
