Tue Jan 10 201220:36T.J. Ford leaves with leg injury
Spurs backup point guard T.J. Ford left Tuesday's game after suffering an apparent left hamstring injury.
He had to be carried off the court so we doubt he returns tonight, and starting shooting guard Gary Neal will also handle backup point guard duties for the time being. Neal was already a hot pick up and Ford's injury should mean even more run for Neal.

Fri Jan 6 201200:39T.J. Ford posts another decent line
T.J. Ford scored seven points on 3-of-7 shooting (including a three) with one rebound, five assists, and one steal over 19 minutes off the bench in Thursday's blowout win.
Gary Neal (12 points, four treys) started at shooting guard and Danny Green backed him up, and the minute evaluation for this contest has to be scrapped as the game turned into garbage-mode in the second quarter. Ford now has two interesting, low-minute lines since Manu Ginobili (hand) went down, averaging 8.0 points, 6.5 assists, and a three in 19 minutes.

Sat Dec 10 201110:43T.J. Ford officially signs w/ Spurs
T.J. Ford has officially signed with the Spurs.
Ford signed a one-year deal for the veterans' minimum and will backup Tony Parker in San Antonio. He should be in shape, at least, as up until last week he was playing for KK Zagreb in Croatia.

Wed Dec 7 201119:17Free agent T.J. Ford leading toward Spurs
Unrestricted free agent T.J. Ford is leaning toward signing with the Spurs.
Again, this is rumor time in the NBA but this rumor actually makes some sense. The Spurs don't have a true backup PG behind Tony Parker and Ford would actually be of some use. This, of course, assumes he can stay healthy, lose the attitude, and fit within coach Pop's system. If he can do all those things, he still won't have fantasy value.

Sun Nov 27 201100:48Ford to stay in Croatia for two more games
Free agent guard T.J. Ford plans to play two more games in Croatia before coming back to the states to find a new team.
He won't be playing for the Pacers, but should be able to land a second- or third-string job in the NBA. And that means he's not likely to be worth owning in most fantasy leagues.

Mon Nov 21 201110:05T.J. Ford signs with KK Zagreb in Croatia
According to ESPN's Marc Stein, free agent T.J. Ford has signed with KK Zagreb in Croatia.
Despite being a free agent, Stein reports that Ford will have an opt-out clause to return stateside once the lockout ends. He should draw interest on the open market as an affordable veteran point guard despite not playing a major role for the Pacers last season.

Fri Sep 16 201111:00T.J. Ford willing to accept smaller role
T.J. Ford, an unrestricted free agent, said that he's willing to accept a smaller role if it allows him to sign with a playoff team.
Ford's stock has dropped in recent years due to both injuries and attitude -- he frequently found himself in the Pacers' doghouse. There aren't a ton of unrestricted free agent PGs available this year, however, and he looks more appealing when compared to guys like Sebastian Telfair, Carlos Arroyo, Earl Watson, and Acie Law.

Wed May 4 201110:50Ford wants to keep playing in NBA
Unrestricted free agent T.J. Ford wants to continue his NBA career.
It's a bad sign that Ford fell behind A.J. Price last season, but the veteran still has some gas in the tank. Just three years ago, he averaged 15.0 points and 5.3 assists as the Pacers starting point guard. We'd expect Ford to latch on as a backup somewhere.

Wed Mar 2 201109:47Ford not happy about being a Pacer
T.J. Ford expressed frustration after not being bought out Tuesday.
Ford has completely fallen out of the rotation as the Pacers have wisely focused on youngsters Darren Collison and A.J. Price. At this point, the team may work something out where Ford can just go home to Houston instead of hanging around the team for the rest of the year. He's not even getting reps in practice.

Tue Mar 1 201116:32T.J. Ford now likely to stay in Indy
As the deadline draws nearer the probability of a buyout for T.J. Ford seems less and less likely.
Ford seemed a near certain buyout candidate even a few days ago. He'll remain a desperation-only option at the point for the Pacers.

Sun Feb 27 201116:35Blazers possibly cooling on T.J. Ford
The Portland Trailblazers have expressed their interest in buyout candidate T.J. Ford but reports suggest that they may be cooling to the idea.
According to the report the Blazers are worried that he won't fit in their system. Even if he does land in Portland he will end up being the backup to Andre Miller.

Fri Feb 25 201111:27T.J. Ford negotiating buyout w/ Pacers?
The Pacers plan to start negotiating a buyout with T.J. Ford, to give him a chance to sign with a contender before Tuesday's deadline.
The Blazers, Heat and Knicks have been mentioned as possible destinations, though Ford will likely be a backup wherever he lands.

Thu Feb 24 201109:59Ford may land in Portland in buy-out trade
T.J. Ford may be a part of a trade to Portland in a deal resulting in the buyout of his contract.
The Pacers are stuck with him and are looking to buy him out if he isn't moved. Either way he's likely to end up on the market where Portland and Miami are the most likely suitors.

Wed Feb 23 201118:50Pacers prepared to buyout T.J. Ford
The Pacers are prepared to buyout T.J. Ford's contract if they're unable to move him by the deadline.
So that means he's going to be bought out, as a deal doesn't sounds likely.

Fri Feb 18 201116:29Pacers may offer buyout to Ford
Pacers beat writer Mike Wells reports that there's a "good chance" the team will offer T.J. Ford a buyout if he's not dealt next week.
Wells also adds that Ford "likely won't accept" that buyout offer unless he knows he'll be able to sign with another team. Ford's expiring contract makes him a legitimate candidate to be traded, but if not, there's a solid chance he'll end up collecting DNP's on the Pacers bench the rest of the way.

Thu Jan 20 201102:32T.J. Ford benched in favor of A.J. Price
T.J. Ford was a DNP-CD on Wednesday, as A.J. Price backed up Darren Collison in a tough loss to the Warriors.
Darren Collison, who should be owned in all leagues, played 32 minutes for 14 points and five assists, while Price added seven points and one assist off the bench. Ford had no fantasy value to begin with, but Price is now worth keeping an eye on in deep leagues.
Sat Dec 4 201004:17Ford outplays Collison in Friday's loss
T.J. Ford played 26 minutes and had 10 points and nine assists in a loss to the Suns.
Darren Collison was benched after committing five TOs so Ford got some nice run. We assume Collison will be back in there on Monday, but keep an eye on this situation.
Tue Nov 23 201022:18Ford held scoreless off the bench
T.J. Ford was held scoreless on Tuesday, shooting 0-for-2 from the field with no rebounds and two assists in 14 minutes off the bench.
After flirting will low-level value in deeper formats, this is a big enough fantasy disaster to get him dropped by many (if not all) owners. His value is predicated on getting a consistent 20+ minutes, and if he's going to vary from that then he can't be owned.
Mon Nov 22 201023:46Ford helps lead Pacers to win over Heat
T.J. Ford scored 13 points on 5-of-10 shooting (including a three) with six rebounds, five assists, and a steal in 26 minutes off the bench on Monday.
He might have played himself into an even time-share with this performance tonight, as Darren Collison (returning from an ankle injury) was ineffective with four points on 2-of-8 shooting, two rebounds, and three assists. Ford's upside will be limited regardless, but he is worth a look in deeper leagues for his low-end production.
Wed Nov 17 201000:11Ford very quiet in start for Collison (ankle)
T.J. Ford started for injured Darren Collison (ankle) on Tuesday, but didn't do much with the chance scoring just six points on 3-of-10 shooting with four rebounds and five assists in 37 minutes.
He was effective in the first half but lost his wind in the second half, and surely the owners who picked him up for the spot start are disappointed. Ford has been seeing some extra time during the games that Collison has struggled, but tonight's performance shouldn't stoke any controversy.
