Sat Jan 21 201219:57Damion James (foot) needs another surgery
Damion James will have surgery on Tuesday to replace the screw in his surgically-repaired right foot.
The screw has given James trouble since last season and even the extended offseason didn't eliminate the problem. There is no timetable for his return, and coach Avery Johnson could only say, "It's disappointing." MarShon Brooks is solidified in the starting lineup and both Anthony Morrow and DeShawn Stevenson will pick up the slack. Shawne Williams could prove useful, also, assuming his foot/leg injury improves.

Thu Jan 19 201214:51Damion James out two more games
Damion James (foot) will miss at least two more games.
James is comparing his foot injury to the one that hobbled Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw for a few weeks this season. He was starting before his injury, but has been "Pipped" by wildly impressive rookie MarShon Brooks.

Wed Jan 18 201211:51Damion James remains day-to-day for Nets
Damion James (foot) is still day-to-day, but could participate in shootaround as soon as Saturday.
James is aiming to return to practice next week, but we're still calling him out indefinitely until he can get back onto the court. He has missed seven straight games with the injury and was averaging just 4.9 points and 4.7 rebounds in 24 minutes before going down.

Fri Jan 13 201220:36Damion James (foot) out; related to surgery
Damion James (foot) will miss his fifth straight game on Friday, and he revealed that the injury is related to his prior foot surgery.
That's not good. We're considering James out indefinitely rather than 'day-to-day.' James' presence would not have impacted MarShon Brooks' grip on starter's minutes, but a further absence won't hurt, either. DeShawn Stevenson (knee) becomes a more viable option for those seeking threes if James is out long-term, too.

Fri Jan 13 201214:07D. James (foot) plans to return soon
Damion James said he recently irritated the screw in his right foot, but he feels "10 times better'' now.
James still hopes to play on the current road trip, however he should only be on rosters in the deepest of fantasy leagues. MarShon Brooks should continue to get as many minutes as he can handle on Friday night.

Damion James (foot) will not play in Friday's game against the Suns.

Tue Jan 10 201218:35Damion James (foot) ruled out for Wednesday
Damion James (foot) has been ruled out for Wednesday vs. Denver.
James continues to sit out and will miss his fourth straight game on Wednesday. Shawne Williams will see an increase in playing time with DeShawn Stevenson also out for New Jersey, but the real beneficiary is MarShon Brooks, who will play all the minutes he can handle.

Mon Jan 9 201210:54Damion James (foot) hopes to return this week
Damion James (foot) won't play on Monday but hopes to return during the Nets' upcoming four-game road trip.
The Nets are a mess. DeShawn Stevenson started at SF in their last game, and Shawne Williams played more minutes off the bench, but there are no fantasy winners in this situation.

Sat Jan 7 201218:19Damion James (foot) gets negative MRI result
Damion James had a negative MRI on injured foot and is listed as day-to-day.
The Nets were reportedly "concerned" about the injury, and a negative result hopefully means he'll be back on the court in a few days. Given his level of production (4.9 points, 4.7 rebounds in 24 minutes per game) fantasy owners shouldn't exactly be salivating over his return.

Sat Jan 7 201209:55Damion James to have MRI on ailing foot
Damion James will soon have an MRI on his ailing foot.
The only good news is that the injury is unrelated to the fracture he sustained in the same foot last season. DeShawn Stevenson replaced James in the starting lineup, while Shawne Williams (who has been awful this year, shooting 24% from the field) also got extra minutes off the bench.

James is dealing with a foot injury and was labeled as doubtful to play. However, the team is stating that they're "concerned" with it and he will be re-evaluated on Saturday. DeShawn Stevenson will start in his place, but look for Shawne Williams to also see an increased role as well.

Thu Jan 5 201222:46James' foot injury not related to old one
Damion James' foot injury is not related to the broken foot he suffered last season, though James is still considered doubtful for Friday's game against the Raptors.
James was nowhere near consistent enough for ownership when healthy, but is worth keeping one eye on as the Nets will have every incentive to play the young guys in an already lost season.

Thu Jan 5 201218:45Damion James (ankle) doubtful for Friday
Damion James (ankle) is considered doubtful for Friday's game vs. the Raptors.
James sat out Nets practice on Thursday and will probably miss the Nets game on Friday. Even when healthy, he is a very borderline own right now (averaging only 4.9 ppg and 4.7 rpg), so we would be okay if you needed to cut him loose for a hot free agent.

Wed Jan 4 201223:30Damion James' ankle sprain not serious
Damion James had two points before leaving with a sprained ankle on Wednesday, but X-rays were negative.
He's not playing well enough to be owned in most leagues, but is worth keeping an eye on as long as he's starting for the Nets. Consider him day-to-day for now.

Wed Jan 4 201221:09Damion James suffers foot injury
Nets forward Damion James suffered a foot injury on Wednesday and is questionable to return.
James had just two points in 18 minutes, and may not play in the second half. His absence would likely benefit DeShawn Stevenson and Anthony Morrow the most.

Tue Jan 3 201201:48Damion James could excel on Wednesday
Damion James scored 10 points on 4-of-9 shooting with five rebounds, two steals, and two blocks in 25 minutes on Monday.
James might see a boost in rebounds and defensive stats with Kris Humphries unlikely to play on Wednesday, so owners in a pinch can give him a look as a spot starter. Just remember that he has disappeared in the recent past so you're starting him at your own risk.

Sun Jan 1 201220:28Damion James solid, but Nets fall to Cavs
Damion James had a solid all-around game in 32 minutes on Sunday, totaling 10 points, three rebounds, three assists, one steal and three blocks.
James' minutes have steadily dwindled since he played 38 minutes in the Nets' opener, but this could earn him a bit of goodwill from coach Avery Johnson. His starting job isn't guaranteed to last, however, as Shawne Williams could eventually overtake him.

Thu Dec 29 201122:05Damion James still starting, still struggling
Damion James hung onto his starting SF job while coach Avery Johnson jumbled his lineup on Thursday, but early foul trouble set the tone for a four-point, two-rebound outing over 13 minutes.
James started the year with a bang but he has played his way off the fantasy radar in two short games. He'll need to prove himself to be consistent before he is a recommended add.
