The Washington Wizards made a bevy of moves on Thursday, including signing center Ian Mahinmi, forward Andrew Nicholson and forward/center Jason Smith to contracts.Terms of the deals were not disclosed by the Wizards, who also acquired guard Trey Burke from Utah for a 2021 second-round pick. The ninth overall pick of the 2013 draft, Burke has averaged 12.1 points, 4.2 assists and 2.5 rebounds in three seasons with Utah and is expected to back up All-Star guard John Wall.Mahinmi recorded career-highs in points (9.3) and rebounds (7.1) last season with Indiana. The Magic need some kind of offensive production from a big man while Nikola Vucevic is out, but they certainly didn't get it against the Hornets.

Smith has agreed to terms with the Magic on a one-year, $4.5 million deal, Ian Begley of ESPN New York reports.

Smith played in all 82 games for the Knicks last season, posting averages of 8.0 points and 4.0 rebounds in 21.8 minutes. He joins an Orlando team with a crowded frontcourt, but he should be able to carve out a regular role off the bench.

Nonetheless, with mild production elsewhere, Smith was a non-factor in the majority of fantasy leagues and now enters free agency heading into next season.

Smith scored 20 points (7-13 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 5-5 FT) to go along with nine rebounds, five assists and two blocks in 36 minutes Monday against the Hawks.

Smith is ending the season on a high note as he has scored at least 11 points and grabbed at least six rebounds in each of his last four games. The Knicks final game is Wednesday against the Pistons, so Smith might be an option to consider in daily leagues.

Smith contributed eight points, three rebounds, two assists, and one block in 24 minutes off the bench against the Lakers on Thursday.

Smith is currently a limited option across all formats who's minutes are curbed by coach Derek Fisher. With just five weeks left in the season, it would be unlikely for Smith to see extended time on the court before the year comes to a close.

Smith started for the injured Lou Amundson (back), recording only five points in 19 minutes Saturday against the Pacers.

Smith was hit with two fouls in the first five minutes of the game, picked up his third at the end of the first half, and committed his fourth early in the third quarter, capping his minutes substantially. The Knicks face an undersized Denver Nuggets next, allowing coach Derek Fisher to look elsewhere if Amundson can't play.

Smith moved to the bench and scored nine points (4-10 FG, 1-1 FT) while adding four rebounds and three assists in 29 minutes against the Pistons Friday.

While it looks as though the move to the bench made little impact on Smith's playing time, it is important to note that the game went to two overtime periods. Smith played fewer minutes than both starters Andrea Bargnani and Lou Amundson, and was less effective than both of them as well.

Smith will play off the bench against Detroit on Friday.

Smith's fantasy value is harmed a bit by the switch, but his role might remain surprisingly stable despite the apparent demotion. Smith was replaced by Andrea Bargnani, who has always been plagued by durability woes, and starting power forward Lou Amundson is a limited player with a propensity for fouls. Still, Smith's fantasy appeal is certainly lessened in light of this more ambiguous role.

Smith bounced back from a couple of quiet outings so owners who held him will be feeling more comfortable after this game. Smith can score and rebound and with a shortage of big men the Knicks will rely on him for the remainder of the season.

Smith's scoring has been inconsistent all season, but the Knicks are going to need his offense with Carmelo Anthony getting close to shutting it down. If you need a big man who can score and rebound, then you could do a lot worse than add Smith.
