Gooden is averaging 8.4 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 0.8 steals over the last five games. His performance Friday was an anomaly, many thanks to Marcin Gortat dealing with foul trouble. Gooden is an afterthought in fantasy as long as he's limited to a bench role, so owners can ignore him unless an injury were to occur to Gortat or Nene.

However, Humphries is expected to miss the start of the season, while both Blair and Nene are suspended for the first game. Gooden may thus play a key role in Wednesday's opener in Miami.
