Gooden grabbed a double-double with 15 points, 17 rebounds, four assists, and one steal in 39 minutes of action Friday against the Hornets.
Gooden is averaging 8.4 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 0.8 steals over the last five games. His performance Friday was an anomaly, many thanks to Marcin Gortat dealing with foul trouble. Gooden is an afterthought in fantasy as long as he's limited to a bench role, so owners can ignore him unless an injury were to occur to Gortat or Nene.

Gooden had 10 points on 5-13 shooting Sunday to go with six rebounds and a steal in 23 minutes off the bench.
Gooden has started to get a decent bit of minutes lately, averaging 21.8 minutes over his last five. Over his last four, he's averaging just under 10 points to go with 4.25 boards. With Kris Humphries out, Gooden could continue to see a decent chunk of minutes with average production.
Sat Mar 14 201518:43Gooden starting Saturday against Kings
Gooden is starting Saturday against the Kings, the Sacramento Bee reports.
Gooden will draw his second consecutive start with Nene away from the Wizards due to personal reasons. In Thursday's nod against the Grizzlies, Gooden posted 13 points (4-9 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 5-6 FT), five rebounds, three assists, and one steal in 27 minutes.

Gooden started Thursday's game with Nene (personal reasons) out. He finished the game with 13 points (4-9 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 5-6 FT), five rebounds, three assists and a steal in 27 minutes.
Unless Nene's absence somehow becomes longer, this does nothing for Gooden's value. In 33 games off the bench this season, Gooden is shooting 36.4 percent from the floor and averages just 3.9 points, 3.4 rebounds and 0.6 assists per game.
Thu Mar 12 201519:01Gooden will start Thursday's game against Grizzlies
Gooden will start Thursday's game against the Grizzlies, the Washington Post reports.
With Nene away from the team for personal reasons, Gooden is entering the starting five at power forward. Since the break, Nene has averaged 4.9 points (on 35 percent shooting) and 4.9 boards in 17 minutes across eight games.

Gooden came off the bench for the Wizards on Wednesday with Kris Humphries (back) out, and picked up a double-double in 29 minutes by scoring 10 points (5-12 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and grabbing 12 boards.
Gooden has now scored double-digit points in back-to-back games, but he just won't receive enough playing time to be a fantasy option in most leagues. After the All-Star break, there's a good chance that Humphries returns. When Washington's frontcourt is healthy, Gooden has rarely played this season, often getting DNPs.

Gooden (knee) is officially inactive for Thursday's game against the Hornets.
Gooden was available for the Wizards on Monday and Wednesday, but did not play in the game. That marks three straight contests in which the veteran hasn't logged any minutes, and it will stretch to four with the news that he's inactive Thursday.

Gooden (Knee) was active Monday night, but did not log any playing time.
Gooden hasn't played since Dec. 29 with a knee injury. The fact that he was active but did not play indicates that the Wizards are willing to be cautious with Gooden and not force him to come back too soon.

Gooden (knee) will be inactive for Friday's game, contrary to a previous report.
After not practicing Thursday with a knee injury, it seems the Wizards will opt to continue to hold him out. Make sure he is out of your lineups Friday, and consider Gooden day-to-day.
Fri Jan 2 201518:51Gooden (knee) will be available for Friday's game
Gooden (knee) will be available for Friday's game.
He did not practice Thursday due to a knee injury, but he will be available as frontcourt depth off the bench Friday.
Thu Jan 1 201517:38Gooden did not practice Thursday due to knee injury
Gooden did not practice Thursday due to a knee injury, CSN Mid-Atlantic reports.
It's not clear if Gooden's injury will cost him any action, but if he is forced to miss time, his absence should not have a major effect on the Wizards' rotation. Gooden received double-digit minutes just twice in Washington's last 14 games.
Sat Dec 6 201410:48Gooden did not get off bench in Friday's win over Nuggets
Gooden did not get off the bench in Friday's win over the Nuggets.
Nene returned from a foot injury to log 18 minutes off the bench Friday, pushing Gooden back out of the rotation. Even while Nene was sidelined, Gooden was only getting about 15-to-20 minutes per game.
Tue Nov 18 201415:55Gooden has not played any minutes since Nov
Gooden has not played any minutes since Nov. 7 against the Raptors.
The Wizards typically have two big men log significant minutes off the bench in any given game, and the nod has recently gone to Kris Humphries and Kevin Seraphin. It was mostly Gooden and Seraphin earlier this season, but with DeJuan Blair also looming as a threat to eventually enter the rotation, Gooden may have a hard time finding his way back in. That said, the Wizards do seem to like Gooden's midrange game, which is something their other bench bigs don't really bring to the table.

Gooden had 10 points (4-6 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four rebounds and two assists in Tuesday's 98-83 win over the Knicks.
Gooden has surprisingly been playing the most minutes of any big man on the Wizards' bench, while Kris Humphries and DeJuan Blair have yet to settle into steady roles. Meanwhile, Kevin Seraphin logged 22 minutes in Tuesday's game, after playing just 10 total minutes through the first three games of the season. The division of playing time is subject to change, but Gooden is getting the best of it right now. He's also averaging 1.3 three-point attempts per game, compared to 0.8 per game last season

Gooden did not play in Wednesday's preseason finale against the Knicks.
Gooden dealt with a hamstring injury earlier this preseason, but his absence from Wednesday's contest wasn't necessarily related. He didn't seen much of the court even when healthy this preseason, averaging just 11 minutes per game in four appearances. He's unlikely to have a significant role in the rotation, following the Wizards' offseason additions of DeJuan Blair and Kris Humphries (finger). However, Humphries is expected to miss the start of the season, while both Blair and Nene are suspended for the first game. Gooden may thus play a key role in Wednesday's opener in Miami.
Tue Jul 15 201416:04Report: Drew Gooden re-signs w/ Wizards
Drew Gooden has re-signed with the Wizards on a one-year deal at the veteran's minimum.
Gooden didn't have a team for much of the 2013-14 season but he played well after latching on with Washington in February. He'll play a bit role in a somewhat stacked frontcourt that already features Marcin Gortat, Nene, Kris Humphries and Kevin Seraphin.

Sat Jun 28 201409:36Drew Gooden likely coming back to Wizards
Drew Gooden is likely to re-sign with the Wizards next season because it allows him to keep his Early Bird rights.
He can get as many as five years with a 7.5 percent increase in pay while it also doesn't affect the salary cap. If Gooden doesn't come back to the Wizards, he would lose his Early Bird rights and have to wait two more years to get it back. He was a diamond in the rough last year for the Wizards and they may give him minutes in the high 20s next season.

Fri Jun 27 201414:23Drew Gooden hopes to re-sign with Wizards
Free agent Drew Gooden said that he will "hopefully" re-sign with the Wizards.
"I have a comfort level there like no other right now," he said. "I can't see myself wanting to go play with another team, to prove myself again for another coach in another organization." Gooden had a surprisingly effective run with the Wizards last season, averaging 8.3 points on 53.1 percent shooting over 22 games, but the 32-year-old journeyman is no longer a fantasy consideration.

Sat Mar 29 201422:55Drew Gooden scores 16 points vs. ATL
Drew Gooden made all five attempts from the field during Saturday's win over the Hawks for 16 points with eight boards, one assist and two steals in 29 minutes.
He set a season high in minutes tonight and rebounded nicely from a couple duds. Gooden has been a nice per-minute guy entering tonight with season averages of 9.7 points, 5.7 boards and 0.4 blocks in 17.4 minutes, so he would be a nice asset should he keep the playing time. Of course, his age makes it hard to sign off on that happening.

Fri Mar 28 201422:06Drew Gooden scores three points in 20 minutes
Drew Gooden scored three points in 20 minutes off the bench on Friday, making 1-of-5 field goals with six rebounds, one assist and one turnover.
Gooden hasn't played more than 20 minutes in the Wizards' past four games. His run of ultra-efficient games was due to end, and it's no surprise that it happened vs. the Pacers' elite defense. Nene (sprained MCL) may return to action in early April, casting a further pall on Gooden's fantasy outlook, and he's safe to cut for a free agent with more upside.
