Tue Aug 9 201109:18Jawad Williams to sign with Paris-Levallois
Jawad Williams is expected to finalize an agreement with Paris-Levallois this week.
Williams was waived by the Cavs in late December last season. He showed some ability to contribute in limited action and should play a more prominent role overseas.

Tue Dec 28 201006:37Williams transaction about clearing space?
The Cavs waived Jawad Williams on Monday, in a move that could signify that they're clearing roster space in preparation for a trade.
This blurb is less about Williams and more about the Cavs' $14.5 million trade exception that they're looking to cash in. They are in the market for a big man, and could dangle that exception to teams (read: Knicks, Nets, Nuggets) needing salaries to match in larger deals.

Sun Dec 26 201009:37Cavs likely to waive Jawad Williams
The Cavaliers will likely waive forward Jawad Williams before Jan. 10, when contracts are guaranteed for the rest of the season.
As noted by beat writer Bob Finnan, "They could always sign him to a 10-day contract." Williams is an intriguing player but he hasn't held fantasy value all season.

Sat Dec 4 201023:44Jawad scores 11 with six rebounds
Jawad Williams scored 11 points in a start for J.J. Hickson (flu) on Saturday, hitting 4-of-14 shots from the field to go with six rebounds and four assists in 35 minutes.
He has not done much in the minutes he has received this year, and there's no real reason to think he'll build off this performance. He's waiver wire fodder.
Wed Oct 20 201003:32Jawad Williams back from baby duty
Jawad Williams returned from a personal absence Tuesday and had 12 points, four boards and two 3-pointers in a win over Philly.
He was out after his wife had a baby, but looked great tonight. If you're in an extremely deep league, he's worth keeping an eye on.
Sat Oct 16 201020:51Williams out Saturday (personal)
Jawad Williams did not play in Saturday's preseason game against CSKA Moscow so he could be with his wife who had a baby.
He hasn't done anything this preseason to garner any fantasy attention, but that could change given the lack of options in the Cavs' frontcourt. For now he's waiver wire fodder.

Sun Sep 26 201000:03Jawad Williams could see a boost in Cleveland
Jawad Williams is expected to see more playing time for the Cavalies this season and should be considered a deep sleeper in fantasy.
While J.J. Hickson is garnering all the attention at power forward in Cleveland, Williams is worth keeping an eye on in training camp and the preseason. We doubt he's worth owning in standard leagues with Antawn Jamison and Hickson in front of him on the depth chart, but you never know.

Wed Sep 22 201019:30Report: Cavs sign Jawad Williams
The Cavaliers reportedly signed Jawad Williams on Wednesday.
Details haven't been released, but it was previously reported that he was going to sign for one year and $1.2 million. He'll have a back up role, but could be worth keeping an eye on for the depleted Cavs.

Sun Sep 19 201022:06Jawad Williams accepts deal from Cavs
Jawad Williams and the Cavaliers have agreed on a one-year contract worth $1.2 million.
The Cavaliers may add another small forward before training camp -- even if they don't, Williams will be competing with Jamario Moon and Joey Graham for minutes. At the very least he's worth monitoring during training camp.

Tue Aug 31 201009:59Williams gets a workout with the Spurs
Restricted free agent F Jawad Williams and free agent G/F Thomas Gardner worked out for the Spurs on Monday.
Williams was extended a qualifying offer of $1.02 million by the Cavs back in June. He's a solid prospect that could give the Spurs some much-needed athleticism. Gardner has been playing for the past two seasons in Belgium.

Sun Aug 1 201010:17Jawad Williams likely to accept Cavs offer
Restricted Jawad Williams will likely accept the Cavaliers' $1.03 million qualifying offer for the 2010-11 season.
The Cavs could also match any offer Williams received from another team, but the market might not bear more than a minimum deal. The 6'9" forward should carve out a larger role in Cleveland this year, but his fantasy usefulness is debatable.

Fri Jul 16 201010:53Recruiting king: LeBron wants Jawad
LeBron James, who suddenly cares more than ever, is now recruiting Jawad Williams, a young restricted free agent for the Cavaliers.
Williams is a good young player that the Cavs would like to keep. And they should be able to, as they can match any offer he receives. But that doesn't mean he won't end up in Miami a year from now.

Wed Jun 30 201016:53Cavs make qualifying offer to Jawad Williams
The Cavaliers have extended Jawad Williams a qualifying offer of $1.02 million, making him a restricted free agent.
Williams is still possibly trade bait as the Cavs struggle to put together a winning combination of players that will entice LeBron James to stay put.

Thu Apr 8 201023:52Jawad does little with start for resting LBJ
Jawad Williams did little in his start for resting LeBron James on Thursday, scoring three points on 1-of-6 shooting with four rebounds and no assists in 23 minutes.
It's worth pointing out that Anthony Parker had just four points with six rebounds and three assists, while Jamario Moon made himself useful with 14 points, four rebounds, two assists, a steal, and a block off the bench. After this showing, they're not worth using, as even Moon's showing would be hard to bank on again.
