Tampa Bay Rays infielder Isaac Paredes is in the lineup on Wednesday at third base against the Oakland Athletics. After the Tampa Bay Rays traded outfielder Austin Meadows to the Detroit Tigers on Monday in exchange for infielder Isaac Paredes and a competitive-balance pick in this year's draft, the team will call up outfield prospect Josh Lowe to put him on the Opening Day roster, according to a source. Lowe is the team's No. 2 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, but he hit just .190 with two RBI and six strikeouts in eight Grapefruit League games this spring. The 24-year-old has 20-20 potential and should immediately become relevant in mixed fantasy leagues if he's playing every day in the big leagues. Paredes, 23, is likely to begin the year with Triple-A Durham, but he'll provide plenty of multi-positional versatility in the Rays organization in 2022 and beyond.

The Detroit Tigers activated third baseman Isaac Paredes (hip) from the 10-day injured list on Wednesday. Following the activation, the team optioned him to Triple-A Toledo. Paredes spent nearly a month on the injured list while dealing with a right hip strain. He has been rehabbing with Triple-A Toledo since Tuesday, so he will just remain there for now. Paredes has played in just 14 games with the Tigers this year and he has slashed .256/.340/.410 with one home run, four RBI and four runs.
