Gose is out of the lineup for a second straight game Sunday against the Red Sox.

It's not surprising that Gose finds himself out of the lineup with lefty Eduardo Rodriguez on the hill for the Red Sox, but it was a bit more startling that he didn't play Saturday versus right-hander Steven Wright. Gose's batting average had been on the upswing heading into the All-Star break, but he's struggled in the second half, going only 3-for-19 at the dish.

Gose is out of the lineup Saturday.

Gose has been hitting better of late, raising his average from .269 to .282 over the past nine games. He also has two steals over that span and just five strikeouts, so after a major slump he seems to have righted the ship somewhat. Rajai Davis will start in center field Saturday.

Gose struggled through June, hitting .167 and posting a .214 on-base percentage in June entering Tuesday's game. His spot at the top of the Tigers' batting order against right-handed pitchers could be in jeopardy, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Overall, Gose was hitting .270 heading into Tuesday and his .314 overall OBP remains OK. But a month is a long slump and manager Brad Asmus' patience may be waning. He recently admitted that he has considered moving hot-hitting Jose Iglesias to the leadoff spot "multiple times."

Gose is out of the lineup Thursday against the White Sox.

Gose was rested Wednesday even though a right-hander was on the mound, and will sit for the second straight day with southpaw Carlos Rodon set to take the hill for the White Sox. With several lefties on the schedule in the upcoming weekend series against Chicago, Gose could continue to see his at-bats limited. A .188 OBP on the month isn't helping his case either.

Gose is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Indians.

Gose went 1-for-13 over the last three games he started and is hitting just .161 this month, so manager Brad Ausmus decided to hold him out in favor of Rajai Davis even though right-hander Danny Salazar is on the mound for the Indians. He could sit at least a couple more times over the next few days with the Tigers scheduled to face a left-hander every day from Thursday through Saturday.

Gose is not in the lineup Sunday against the Yankees.

Gose will get a day off after starting nine straight games, with Rajai Davis taking over both in center field and atop the lineup. Gose is just 9-for-53 (.170) to begin the month of June, so a day to clear his head may be for the best.

Gose is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cubs.

With the Tigers facing Chicago's Jon Lester, Rajai Davis will replace Gose in center field, as has typically been the case against left-handed pitchers. So long as Davis, J.D. Martinez and Yoenis Cespedes are all healthy, Gose doesn't figure to get many at-bats against lefties.

Gose is back in the lineup Sunday against the White Sox.

Gose was benched for the last two games with lefties on the mound for the White Sox, but he'll slot back in Sunday with the right-handed Jeff Samardzija getting the start. The outfielder has enjoyed some success against Samardzija in a small sample of eight at-bats, recording four hits and a stolen base.

Gose is not in Saturday's lineup.

With lefty John Danks on the mound for the White Sox the Tigers will give Gose another day off. Rajai Davis will patrol center field and hit leadoff Saturday.

Gose is not in the lineup Friday against the White Sox.

Gose will sit Friday with lefty Jose Quintana on the hill for Chicago. With left-hander John Danks slated to take the mound Saturday, Gose may find himself on the bench again as he continues to platoon with Rajai Davis in center field.

Gose is not in the lineup Friday against the Angels.

With lefty Hector Santiago due up for the Angels, Gose will head to the bench for the first time since May 16. Gose is batting .329/.368/.459 this season but his exposure to left-handed pitching figures to remain limited.

Gose is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Cardinals.

Gose is taking some decently deserved rest after playing a season-high seven games in a row and increasing his batting average to .357, its highest point in May. Rajai Davis is taking over center.

Gose went 3-for-6 out of the leadoff spot with a run and an RBI in the 10-4 win over the Cardinals Friday.

Gose is scorching hot right now grabbing seven hits over the last two days, including three runs scored. Gose has really found a nice role as the leadoff hitter against righties for this potent Tigers lineup.

The 3-for-6 performance raised his season average to .357 and gives him seven hits in 11 at bats in his last two games. He's clearly red-hot right now, so take full advantage.

Gose returned to the Tigers' lineup Friday and responded with a 3-for-4 effort in a win over the Royals. He had a double and scored two runs.

He also recorded his sixth stolen base. He's still in a soft platoon with Rajai Davis and he'd scuffled through a 10-day stretch in late April. But he has gone 8-for-16 with two doubles and four runs in his last four games. Give him a look in daily leagues ... as long as a righty is on the mound.

Gose is out of the lineup Thursday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

With southpaw Jose Quintana on the bump for the White Sox the Tigers will deploy Rajai Davis in center field Thursday. Gose has been pretty excellent this season given where he was going in drafts, but it should be understood that his batting average is not sustainable (.488 BABIP). That said, he still has the tools to be useful in most formats once the average normalizes in the .250 range.

Gose remains in a platoon in center field with Rajai Davis, so he'll take a seat Wednesday as the Tigers face off against the left-handed Chris Sale. Davis will get the start in center and lead off.

Gose went 3-for-4 with a double in Saturday's win over the Royals. He scored one run and struck out once.

He's still in a platoon with Rajai Davis, but both were in the lineup Saturday with J.D. Martinez getting the day off. It was a nice bounceback effort after going 2-for-15 in his previous four games. His overall stat line is solid, but you need to watch his K:BB rate (21:3) -- he's pacing to strikeout more than he's ever done before and with fewer walks than in the past. We'd like to see his eye improve a bit more so he can sustain a solid OBP and utilize his great speed on the base paths.

Gose will remain out of the starting lineup Sunday against the Indians, MLB.com's Jason Beck reports.

Though the Indians will bring a right-hander in Carlos Carrasco to the hill Sunday, Gose will find himself on the bench for a second straight game in light of the success Rajai Davis found Saturday. Davis was quite the difference-maker Saturday, going 2-for-4 with a walk, three stolen bases, and three runs scored in the victory, and while he'll be rewarded with another start for his efforts, it doesn't sound just yet like he's poised to take the center field role all to himself. Expect Davis and Gose continue to be deployed in a rough platoon at the position.

Gose is not in the starting lineup against Cleveland on Saturday.

The soft platoon continues for the Tigers, as Rajai Davis will draw into the lineup and serve as the leadoff hitter, even though right-hander Trevor Bauer is taking the ball for Cleveland. Gose is carrying a .333/.348/.511 with a homer, five RBI, eight runs scored and two steals through 11 games this season.
