Tue Jul 1 201400:33James Jones collects four hits, three steals
James Jones went 4-for-5 with three steals and two runs scored Monday versus the Astros.
A big game for a guy who had entered the night hitting .267/.282/.297 in 101 at-bats during June. But even with that low OBP, he had stolen nine bases as a fixture at the top of the Mariners lineup. He has a lot left to prove as a major league regular, but for fantasy purposes, he'll be a nice source of steals for however long he stays in the lineup.

Tue May 13 201401:45Jones goes 2-for-5, now 9-for-23 as Mariner
James Jones went 2-for-5 with three runs scored in Monday's win against the Rays.
Jones has hit safely in four straight games. While manager Lloyd McClendon hasn't been starting him every game, Jones has given his skipper no reason to confine him to the bench during his brief time in Seattle. Promoted on May 5 to take Abraham Almonte's spot, Jones has gone 9-for-23, good for a .391 average and .984 OPS. He needs to be owned in more AL-only leagues.

Mariners recalled OF James Jones from Triple-A Tacoma.
Jones is a .282/.363/.440 career hitter in the minor leagues with decent power and good speed, but the 25-year-old probably won't play enough to carry fantasy relevance. When he gets into a game, it'll be his major league debut.

Mariners purchased the contract of OF James Jones from Triple-A Tacoma.
Jones hit .278/.350/.421 with 28 stolen bases in the minors last year. The 25-year-old will get a shot to earn a bench spot with the club during spring training, and adding him to the 40-man roster also protects him in the impending Rule 5 Draft.
