3B Conor Gillaspie matched his career high with four hits in the Giants' loss to the Oakland Athletics on Tuesday night. Gillaspie was 4-for-4 before popping out in the eighth inning with the potential tying run at second base. He recorded four hits in a game twice previously: May 26, 2014, against the Indians and last Tuesday against the Pirates.

3B Conor Gillaspie became the fifth Giant to record a walk-off hit this season Sunday when he doubled home 2B Ramiro Pena to break a 7-7 tie with one out in the ninth inning. Tuesday marks the second time that the inconsistent Gillaspie has been DFA'd this season. After joining the Angels, Gillaspie managed just a .203/.250/.344 slash line with nine RBI in 64 at-bats. The Angels called up third baseman prospect Kaleb Cowart on Tuesday in a corresponding move.

Gillaspie is expected to be added to the Angels active roster prior to Saturday's game, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports.
