DH Brandon Moss hit a grand slam Sunday for all the runs in a 4-3 victory over the White Sox. Moss has three home runs and nine RBIs in his past three games. He has homered in three straight games for the third time in his career and the first time since Aug. 27-29, 2013 with Oakland.

DH Brandon Moss hit his 20th home run in the fifth. That gives the Royals four players with 20 or more home runs, tying a club record. The 1977 and 1987 clubs also had four players with at least 20 home runs.

Moss is hitting .326 with four home runs and nine RBIs in 14 games in July. "I think you see him having much more relaxed at-bats, a lot more confidence in his at-bats," Royals manager Ned Yost said. "He had some great swings in that last at-bat. I felt like he was going to find a pitch and drive it somewhere and he did, right down the line. It was a great at-bat. I knew with his track record and he still has his abilities, he's going to get hot somewhere down the line, and when he does we're going to ride it. Today was a good example of that."

1B-DH Brandon Moss replaced Eric Hosmer at first base and batted cleanup for the first time. "I'm not going to speak on other's people's personal stuff," Moss said of Hosmer's absence. "I'm just holding that spot for a day. Hosmer, that's his spot. I'm happy to be in the lineup. I'm going to try to continue this momentum that I'm building over the past couple of days and over the past month. Where you hit in the lineup isn't your decision. I don't write the lineup. I play wherever I am. Anytime I'm in the lineup, I just try to contribute." It was Moss' third time to start at first base. Moss moved to right field after Hosmer entered the game. "We've been waiting for him to get hot and he's swinging exceptionally well right now," Royals manager Ned Yost said.

DH Brandon Moss had a two-run double in the third and a two-run single in the eighth. He has five RBIs in his past two games after having just two RBIs in his previous 29 games. "I'm just trying to contribute, honestly," Moss said. "When you're start going bad and you're not getting hits, for me you start trying to hit home runs," Moss said. "Obviously, it was not working out. It's not going to work every time. You're not going to get a hit every night, but just do something. That's my mindset right now."

DH Brandon Moss snapped an 0-for-9 skid with a homer, double and single. His home run was his first since July 1. In 36 games against the Tigers, Moss has 10 home runs, nine doubles and a .575 slugging percentage.

DH Brandon Moss' three-run homer in the fourth inning cut a 4-0 Cleveland lead to 4-3 on Friday night. Moss has five home runs in the last eight games, a span of 28 at-bats. Before that streak Moss had homered four times in his previous 80 at-bats. Moss' home run on Friday also snapped a streak by Royals hitters, who were 0-for-35 with runners in scoring position, dating to the second inning of a game at Minnesota on May 19.

DH Brandon Moss hit two home runs in the first game of Sunday's doubleheader before sitting out the second game. Moss has a hit in a season-long five games and his batting .400 over that stretch. He has eight homers this season and four in his last five games. All eight home runs have been solo shots, though.

DH Brandon Moss has homered in back-to-back games for the 16th time in his career. Five of six home runs this season have been solo shots, four giving the Royals a lead. "If he gets hot, he can carry a team with his power," Royals manager Ned Yost said.

DH Brandon Moss was 0-for-9 with a sacrifice fly with runners in scoring position coming into Sunday. He got two singles with RISP, but the second one did not score a run.

DH Brandon Moss has homered in back-to-back games. It is the 15th time in his career he has homered in consecutive games.

DH Brandon Moss struck out three times Monday, including ending the game with two runners on base. "I was just hoping to be ready for a heater and hoped (A's closer Sean Doolittle) missed it middle or middle in," Moss said. "He challenged me with his best pitch, and he won. I got three heaters blown by me." Moss is hitting .063 with his lone hit a home run. He has struck out 10 times in 16 at-bats.

DH Brandon Moss hit a ninth-inning, go-ahead home run Sunday off Astros RHP Chris Devenski for his first hit on the season and first with the Royals. Moss signed with Kansas City as a free agent on Feb. 1. Moss snapped an 0-for-11 start to the season and became just the second player to hit a home run off a Devenski changeup, according to Brooks Baseball.

LF Brandon Moss was back in the lineup Friday night, batting sixth and going 1-for-3 with a two-run homer. Moss was enjoying a good season before a monthlong slump dropped his average all the way down to .224 entering the game. Moss, who's second on the team with 28 homers, has only eight hits in his last 98 at-bats and was benched Thursday night for career minor leaguer Jose Martinez.

LF Brandon Moss, mired in a 7-for-95 slump dating back to August 27, didn't start Thursday night as Jose Martinez replaced him.

OF Brandon Moss was 0-for-4 on Sunday, striking out three times, and has just one hit, a single, in his last 41 at-bats. He has gone 53 at-bats since his last homer, on Aug. 25.

OF Brandon Moss saw his hitting slump reach 1-for-37 with an 0-for-4 night on Saturday night. Moss also has gone 49 at-bats since hitting his last home run on Aug. 25. His only hit in his current slump was an eighth-inning single on Thursday night which snapped an 0-for-29 streak, the longest of his career.

LF Brandon Moss went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs on Sunday, giving him 23 home runs and 56 RBIs on the season. So far this year, Moss is averaging one home run every 12.61 at-bats (23 homers in 290 ABs), which is the best in the majors this season among players who have at least 250 at-bats.
