Lawrie is hitting .382 during the streak and came into the game hitting .404 with three doubles, four home runs and eight RBIs in his previous 13 games.

2B Brett Lawrie extended his hitting streak to eight games in the White Sox's loss Tuesday to the New York Yankees. Lawrie continued the streak in his first at-bat by singling off RHP Masahiro Tanaka. Lawrie, who went 1-for-2 with a walk, is hitting .387 with three doubles, a home run and four RBIs during the streak.

2B Brett Lawrie launched his second home run as a White Sox player in Chicago's 7-6 win Monday to start a doubleheader against the Indians. The three-run shot, hit with two outs and a full count, was Lawrie's first home in Chicago's home ballpark, U.S. Cellular Field. It was also Lawrie's first start of the season at DH. He started the second game in his usual spot at 2B, going 0-for-3 in the White Sox's 5-1 loss. "It was great, especially 3-2 count there," Lawrie said. "(I was) just able to put some runs on the board for the boys and give us a little bit of breathing room."

2B Brett Lawrie's defense has never been in question in his first season with the White Sox, but of late, he has struggled to produce at the plate. A 1-for-4 showing Saturday might not appear to be the biggest step in the right direction, but Lawrie's fifth-inning single snapped an 0-for-19 drought. Despite his recent struggles, Lawrie is still hitting .247 with 12 extra-base hits.

2B Brett Lawrie has been the picture of patience of late. Lawrie picked up walks in his first two at-bats Wednesday and has now collected multiple walks in four games this season. Lawrie's 16 walks this season leads the White Sox, who have collected 90 walks this season and who have four players with double-digit walk totals for the year.

2B Brett Lawrie has only played 80 games in the major leagues at second base, but will likely start the season there for the White Sox. Lawrie, who was acquired in a trade with the Oakland A's in December, was initially going to be Chicago's answer to a talent void at the hot corner that dates back at least 10 seasons. Instead, the White Sox acquired Frazier to play third base, which moves Lawrie to second base. Last season with Oakland, he played 42 games at there and posted a 4.90 range-factor score, the highest of his major league career at any position. Lawrie made six errors at second base out of 212 total chances for a .972 fielding percentage.

3B Brett Lawrie was acquired by the White Sox from the Athletics on Wednesday in exchange for two minor league pitching prospects.Lawrie was traded from Toronto to Oakland in November 2014 in a deal for American League MVP Josh Donaldson. While Donaldson hit 41 home runs for the Blue Jays, Lawrie batted .260 and posted career highs with 16 home runs, 60 RBIs and 29 doubles for in 149 games for Oakland.Third base was among Chicago's primary needs following a third straight losing season. The quartet of Conor Gillaspie, Tyler Saladino, Gordon Beckham and Mike Olt batted a combined .235 (164-for-699) with 16 home runs and 59 RBIs.

Lawrie is out of the lineup Friday.

Lawrie is sporting some decent numbers through the month of September (.250/.282/.463 with three homers and six RBI) however most of that damage was done early in the month. He's recorded just five extra base hits since Sept. 6 and has hit 7-for-31 in his previous eight games.
