Philip Humber allowed one run in three innings and struck out three versus the Braves on Saturday.

Astros claimed RHP Philip Humber off waivers from the White Sox.
Humber was a non-tender candidate after posting a 6.44 ERA and 85/44 K/BB ratio over 102 innings this past season. The 29-year-old right-hander projects to make a little over $1 million in his first year of arbitration, so he could eat some innings on the cheap for the rebuilding 'Stros.

Fri Nov 30 201209:24Humber, Johnson could be non-tendered
Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times thinks there's a "good chance" Philip Humber is non-tendered.
He also believes that Dan Johnson will be non-tendered, but Gordon Beckham and Alejandro De Aza will be offered contracts. Humber tossed a perfect game in 2012 and has pitched well at times for the White Sox over the last two years, but the Sox have rotation depth and can't really justify giving him a raise after he posted a 6.44 ERA this past season.

Mon Aug 6 201219:36White Sox relegate Humber to bullpen
Manager Robin Ventura confirmed Monday that Phil Humber will be moved to the bullpen.
The White Sox experimented with a six-man rotation, but the writing was on the wall for Humber, who's struggled since his perfect game earlier in the season. It's also a sign that Chris Sale will be cleared to pitch on regular rest moving forward. Humber has 26 career relief appearances, including two last year with Chicago.

White Sox manager Robin Ventura expects Philip Humber (elbow) to make one more rehab start.
Humber's results in his first rehab start weren't ideal, but he says his arm "feels great," and he thinks he'll be ready soon to rejoin the White Sox rotation. ``My fastball command was pretty much where I wanted it to be, and I threw sliders for the first time," Humber said. "I feel like I'm healthy. I don't know what the schedule is going to be now with the All-Star break.''

I'm just taking it one day at a time. [Trainer] Hermie [Schneider] is in charge in the training room.'' He seems likely to return by late July if all goes well.

Philip Humber surrendered four runs and nine hits in five innings Saturday in a victory over the Dodgers.
Humber gave up six singles during the Dodgers' four-run third inning. He was pretty good the rest of the outing, so he'll probably keep his rotation spot for at least one more start. With the win tonight, he's 3-5 with a 6.01 ERA.

He'll look to get back in the win column when he battles the Astros at home on Sunday.
