Hemingway caught four passes for 50 yards in Sunday's 22-17 loss at San Francisco.
A.J. Jenkins was supposed to see additional looks in the absence of Donnie Avery (hernia), but Hemingway stepped up to produce his best game of the season. In fact, he led all Kansas City pass catchers in yardage, and tied for the team lead in receptions.

Hemingway caught two passes for 18 yards on two targets Sunday against the Dolphins.
Hemingway has settled in as the team's third receiver (27 snaps) ahead of A.J. Jenkins (6) and Frankie Hammond (4). For a run-first team, however, the third wide receiver doesn't see much production, and that is the case with Hemingway.

Hemingway caught two passes for 21 yards on three targets Sunday against the Broncos.
Hemingway serves as the team's third or fourth wide receiver, splitting time with A.J. Jenkins. While Hemingway saw 34 offensive snaps compared to 24 for Jenkins, he still doesn't serve much value in the Chiefs' run-heavy offense.

Hemingway served largely as the team's third wide receiver, taking 33 snaps (58 percent) on offense. With Dwayne Bowe set to return from a suspension next week, Hemingway's value will remain low.

Hemingway (hip) is active for Sunday's game against the Titans.
With Dwayne Bowe suspended for Week 1, Hemingway is expected to move into the slot while Frankie Hammond replaces Bowe on the outside. While it's a decent spot given Alex Smith's relatively low deep-ball activity, Hemingway isn't likely to burn up many fantasy scoreboards either.

With Dwayne Bowe out this week due to a suspension, Hemingway figures to handle the team's slot duties Sunday against the Titans, with Frankie Hammond likely on track to start opposite Donnie Avery. It's an assignment that could give Hemingway some short-term utility in deeper formats, as a Week 1 dart.

Coach Andy Reid said Hemingway (hip) will return this week and will receive some of the snaps left vacant by Dwayne Bowe, who is suspended for Week 1, Adam Teicher of ESPN Kansas City reports.
Hemingway left the first preseason game with the hip injury and missed both the second and third games because of it. He will split snaps with Frankie Hammond, that week, while both will probably see the field in three and four wide receiver sets.

Hemingway (hip) is among the Chiefs' scratches for Thursday's preseason finale.
It's not surprising that the Chiefs are holding Hemingway out of their preseason finale, given that he is dealing with a hip issue. At this stage, it's unclear if he'll be ready to go in Week 1, though his practice participation next week should add some clarity to his status on that front.

Hemingway (hip) did not practice Monday, the Chiefs' official site reports.
Hemingway appears to be the favorite to take the starting spot for Week 1 while Dwayne Bowe serves his suspension, but his absence from practice gives the receivers behind him a chance to show what they've got. The wideout missed Saturday's preseason game against the Vikings, and it's unclear how long the injury will keep him sidelined.

Hemingway (hip) did not play in Saturday's preseason game against the Vikings, Terez A. Paylor of the Kansas City Star reports.
With Dwayne Bowe suspended for Week 1, Hemingway is the favorite to start across from Donnie Avery. Frankie Hammond Jr., who started Saturday's game, would appear to be the other candidate. Whichever of Hammond and Hemingway starts will likely just have one-week appeal in deeper leagues.

With Hemingway and Dwayne Bowe sitting out the session, the report notes that Frankie Hammond saw some first-team snaps Tuesday. Assuming Hemingway's hip flexor doesn't linger, he has a shot to open the season as the Chiefs' No. 3 wideout. With Bowe slated to sit out the Chiefs' season opener due to a suspension, if Hemingway does indeed claim the assignment, he could merit attention as a possible one-game option in deeper formats in Week 1.

Hemingway is a candidate to fill in for fellow wide receiver Dwayne Bowe, who will be suspended for the Chiefs' regular season opener, ESPN.com.
Along with Hemingway, who is listed behind Bowe on the Chiefs' unofficial depth chart, the report indicates that A.J. Jenkins, Kyle Williams and rookie Albert Wilson could also factor in, but either way, who replaces Bowe in Week 1 will be primarily a short-term/deep league consideration. That assessment could, however, change if the finger issue that Bowe has been dealing with continues to hamper him as the season progresses.
Wed Aug 13 201416:48Hemingway made mark at Wednesday's practice
Hemingway, who had missed some training camp action due to a sore hamstring and didn't play in the Chiefs' preseason opener, made his mark at Wednesday's practice, the team's official site reports.
While working in 11-on-11 drills with the Chiefs' first-team offense Wednesday, the report notes that Hemingway made consecutive contested catches while working out of the slot. While we wouldn't overreact a strong practice, now that he he is healthy, Hemingway has a chance to carve out a role in the Chiefs' offense, working out of the slot, an assignment that could result in deep league utility if he continues to click with QB Alex Smith.

Hemingway became the Chiefs' No. 3 receiver after Donnie Avery went down with a concussion. A second-year seventh rounder out of Michigan, Hemingway caught nine passes over the Chiefs' final five games. He's not going to be gifted No. 4 receiver duties in 2014, but has the inside track on a roster spot. A burly 6-foot-1, 225 pounds, Hemingway needs to improve as a blocker to ensure he sticks around in Kansas City.
