Bolden was on the field for 9-of-86 snaps on offense in Sunday's loss to the Dolphins, ESPN.com reports.

Bolden wound up with two carries for eight yards in the game, along with one catch for four yards. Bolden is behind both Shane Vereen (61 snaps) and Stevan Ridley (22 snaps) in the Patriots' RB pecking order, and ahead of rookie James White (inactive Sunday) for the time being, which limits his fantasy value.

While he probably won't do much unless there's an injury or two in front of him, Bolden can't be entirely counted out. On the other hand, he's likely on the roster bubble, and may not even be with the Patriots come Week 1.

Though used primarily in the passing game while Shane Vereen was injured last season, Bolden has the size and running style to play the "big back" role in the Patriots' offense. If Bolden is cut, that would leave just Stevan Ridley to fill that role. In addition to Ridley and Vereen, Frenz believes FB James Devlin and rookies James White and Roy Finch will crack the final roster.
