Morris (ankle) is probable for Monday's game against the Cowboys.
Morris emerged from last Sunday's win over Tennessee with a bit of an ankle concern, but he was able to practice in full all week and should be fine to handle his normal workload against Dallas. Last season, Morris ran for 80-plus yards and a score in both games against the Cowboys, but the 25-year-old is averaging just 2.8 yards per carry in his last three contests.

Morris practiced in full Thursday.
Morris suffered but played through an injured ankle last Sunday, accruing 54 yards on 18 carries. He continues to handle the bulk of the RB workload, but in five of seven outings, he's averaged less than 4.0 YPC. Moreover, his season-long mark (3.8 YPC) is well below that of his first two campaigns (4.7 YPC combined), which isn't endearing himself to owners.

Morris suffered a left ankle injury during Sunday's game against the Titans, but managed to return to the contest and finish with 18 carries for 54 rushing yards.
Morris was playing fairly well before suffering the injury, rushing for 34 yards on eight carries, but he clearly didn't have the same kind of success when he re-entered the game. He has now gone three straight games without a touchdown, while failing to break the 90-yard mark since Week 1 against the Texans. Despite the limited production, Morris could be given a bigger share of the offensive workload in Week 8, as third-string quarterback Colt McCoy is expected to start against the Cowboys after Kirk Cousins was benched at halftime of Sunday's game.

Morris (ankle) will return to Sunday's game against the Titans.
Morris tweaked his left ankle during Sunday's contest, but the ailment apparently isn't serious enough to keep him sidelined. At the moment, Morris boasts 34 rushing yards on eight attempts.

Morris left Sunday's game against the Titans with a left ankle sprain and is considered questionable to return.
Morris was able to walk off the field under his own power Sunday, although it's unclear if he'll be allowed to return. Prior to exiting, Morris rushed for 34 yards on eight carries. Should be remain sidelined, Roy Helu would stand to benefit from an expanded role in the Redskins' offense.

Morris had 13 carries for 41 yards and caught one pass for 14 yards in Sunday's 30-20 loss at Arizona.
The game was close throughout, but Morris couldn't find much room against a stingy Cardinals' rush defense. It was the second straight game in which Morris was held in check on the ground, and his lack of his usage as a pass catcher is problematic when that happens. He should be able to bounce back, at least to a certain degree, next week against Tennessee.

Morris gained 29 yards on 13 carries and lost two yards on one reception in Monday's 27-17 loss to the Seahawks.
The Redskins played the entire game from behind, and didn't have any luck running the ball when they tried. Morris' lack of involvement in the passing game will occasionally doom him to such showings against difficult opponents, but he's often successful even when the rest of the Washington offense struggles. Next week's matchup with the Cardinals may not be as tough as it looks, as superstar DE Calais Campbell (knee) is not expected to play.

Morris had 12 carries for 63 yards and a touchdown, adding three receptions for 27 yards, in Thursday's 45-14 loss to the Giants.
Morris played well against a tough Giants defense, but the nature of the game limited his touches. His score came on his long run of 20 yards, which cut the deficit to 24-14 right after halftime, before Kirk Cousins threw a trio of interceptions in the third quarter. Roy Helu played more snaps than usual, with Washington forced to go pass-heavy in the second half. While a welcome sight for fantasy owners, Morris' involvement in the passing game probably won't continue, as he hadn't been targeted in three contests prior to Thursday's. Next week brings a tough home matchup against the vaunted Seattle defense. If there's any consolation, it's that the Seahawks were at least mortal against opposing running games last season, though they still allowed a meager four touchdowns on the ground.
Thu Sep 25 201419:05Alfred Morris: (Knee) Active Thursday
Morris (knee) is active Thursday against the Giants, Mike Jones of the Washington Post reports.
Morris, who practiced in full all week, is set to handle his typical 20-plus carries per outing. Even if the yards pile up slowly but surely, his night should end with a helpful sum against a Giants run defense that gives up 4.2 yards per pop to opposing running backs.

Morris (knee) is listed as probable for Thursday's game versus the Giants.
With full practices under his belt this week, there's little worry regarding Morris' ability to take the field on a short week after suffering a minor knee injury this past Sunday. The fact that the Giants allow 4.2 YPC to opposing backs bodes well for the workhorse in Week 4.
Tue Sep 23 201415:46Morris (knee) full participant during Tuesday's practice
Morris (knee) was a full participant during Tuesday's practice, Newsday reports.
Morris was briefly examined for a knee injury during Sunday's game against the Eagles, but was ultimately able to return to action and finish with 77 yards on 23 carries. Although the Redskins didn't practice Monday, Morris would have been listed as a full participant, which matches his designation from Tuesday's session. As a result, Morris looks certain to play in Thursday's Week 4 divisional clash with the Giants, whose defense has allowed four rushing touchdowns to date.

Morris (knee) was listed as a full participant on Monday's injury report, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
The minor knee injury suffered by Morris on Sunday don't stop him from putting together 23 carries for 77 yards, which marked his worst performance from a fantasy perspective this season. He's averaging a shade under 20 carries per game this season, which should bode well against a Giants run defense that has allowed 4.2 YPC to opposing running backs this season.

Morris suffered a minor knee injury in Week 3 but was able to return to the field after being evaluated, the Washington Post reprots.
Morris finished the game with 23 rushes for 77 yards. The team plays Thursday in Week 4 so he may receive some rest during the week.

Morris had 23 carries for 77 yards during Sunday's 37-34 loss to the Eagles.
The Redskins put up big points Sunday but Morris was unfortunately not part of any of them, while he also watched Roy Helu bang home a one-yard touchdown with less than five minutes left in the game. Quarterback Kirk Cousins threw for 427 yards and three touchdowns, as the Eagles did a solid job of limiting Morris to only 3.3 yards per carry. Up next is a Thursday game against the Giants, who allowed 119 yards to the Texans without Arian Foster in Week 3.

Morris had 22 carries for 85 yards and two touchdowns during Sunday's 41-10 win over the Jaguars.
With quarterback Robert Griffin knocked out of the game in the first quarter with an ankle injury and wide receiver DeSean Jackson forced out later with a shoulder injury, the Redskins relied heavily on Morris to grind out a victory. Roy Hely also suffered an injury Sunday, and if he is forced to miss any time, Morris could grab even more carries, with Silas Redd also likely to see an uptick in usage.
Sun Sep 7 201421:13Morris had 14 carries for 91 yards in Sunday's loss at Houston
Morris had 14 carries for 91 yards in Sunday's loss at Houston. As usually is the case, Morris was not targeted in the passing game.
Morris played well against a tough defense, but he had a one-yard touchdown stole away from him by fullback Darrel Young. Morris needs to score touchdowns for his fantasy owners, because he's certainly not going to contribute in the passing game. He should have an easier time in Week 2, facing Jacksonville at home.

Morris carried the ball 11 times for a total of 29 yards in Monday's exhibition game against the Browns.
Morris didn't have the greatest average yardage on his carries, which was likely due in part to a stout Browns rushing defense. He's still the clear-cut favorite to be the No. 1 back in Washington, so don't look too closely into these preseason numbers. The No. 2 back, Roy Helu, gained just eight yards on three carries, adding one catch for seven yards.

Morris has spent more time improving his receiving skills during training camp, the Washington Post reports. He has 20 catches over his first two years and looks to become a more integral part in the passing attack.
This may led to Morris seeing more time in passing situations. It appears running backs may be more involved in the passing attack than in past years.

Morris gained 27 yards on five carries in Thursday's preseason opener against the Patriots.
Morris made his only drive count, until his fifth and final carry was stopped for no gain. Roy Helu got a carry with the first team after Morris toted the ball on three straight plays, but Helu isn't a major threat to the former sixth-rounder in terms of workload. While his inactivity in the passing game puts somewhat of a cap on his ceiling, Morris still figures to be an early-down workhorse in an offense that should be improved from last season.
Wed Jul 23 201422:46Skins to 'tilt away' from zone blocking
The Washington Times expects the Redskins to "tilt away" from the zone-blocking scheme and incorporate more power concepts under new coach Jay Gruden.
Gruden's background is indeed in power running, and Washington's obvious offseason effort to get bigger in the trenches suggests the Shanahans' system will be gradually scrapped. It's something of a concern for Alfred Morris, who also offers very little in the passing game. We like Morris to stay in the 270-carry range this season, but clearing 300 like he did as a rookie is unrealistic with more emphasis on the pass. His YPC average could also take a hit.
