More on Greene's status in the coming days, but after recording 71 rushing yards in Week 1, he has recorded a modest total of 119 rushing yards in four games since then, plus he has yet to catch a pass thus far.

Greene had 11 carries for 36 yards and failed to catch both of the passes thrown to him during Sunday's 29-28 loss to the Browns.

While Greene finished with three more carries and nine more rushing yards than backup Bishop Sankey, he's now posted a 3.3 YPC average in three straight games, while failing to rush for more than 40 yards in four straight. The upside just isn't there and many are left scratching their heads as to why Greene continues to get more touches than the rookie. If there's a silver-lining, it's that Greene's fantasy owners can look forward to a decent matchup in Week 6 against a Jaguars defense that is one of the worst in the NFL against the run and the pass.

Greene had three carries for 10 yards Sunday against the Colts.

The Titans' offense really struggled to move the ball Sunday, and it should be noted that backup running back Bishop Sankey finished with 34 rushing yards and a touchdown on six carries, while also catching two passes for 23 yards. Greene has seen a very inconsistent number of targets through the first four games of the season, but after Sunday's performance, it wouldn't be surprising if the rookie Sankey started getting a bigger piece of the pie.

Greene had 10 carries for 33 yards and a touchdown Sunday against the Bengals.

Rookie Bishop Sankey also got 10 carries in the game and turned them into 61 yards, but Greene ultimately got the goal-line carry late in the game to make it 33-7. The Titans continue to say they'll play the hot hand between Greene, Sankey and Dexter McCluster (one carry for zero yards), which certainly limits their respective upsides.

Greene had just five carries for 40 yards in Sunday's 26-10 loss to Dallas.

Greene got very little opportunities because the Cowboys controlled the ball for over 41 minutes. Rookie Bishop Sankey was a non-factor, rushing for just three yards on two carries. It looks like Greene will remain the starter, with Dexter McCluster mixed in as the change-of-pace back.

Greene had 15 carries for 71 yards Sunday against the Chiefs.

Greene started the game and finished with more than double the carries as rookie Bishop Sankey, who many expect to take over the top spot on the depth chart at some point this season. Interestingly enough, Dexter McCluster had nine carries, which was also more than Sankey. While it's not an equal committee, Greene isn't expected to get a large majority of the touches out of the backfield, which limits his fantasy upside.

Greene remains atop the Titans' running back depth chart in advance of Week 1, the team's official site reports.

Rookie Bishop Sankey is listed as the team's No. 2 back, with Dexter McCluster (in the No. 3 slot) set to work in a change-of-pace role. Though Greene maintains his standing as the Titans' starter for now, per the team's posted depth chart, Sankey figures to see his share of carries out of the gate as well, and it's not hard to imagine his role expanding (at Greene's expense) as the season progresses.

Greene (knee) gained 15 yards on six carries in Saturday's preseason game against the Falcons.

Greene did nothing against a weak Atlanta defense, but the bigger story was Bishop Sankey's complete lack of involvement with the first-team offense. Dexter McCluster worked ahead of Sankey, and Leon Washington got some snaps as a third-down back. Of course, neither McCluster nor Washington is a threat to handle anything close to an every-down role, meaning Sankey still looms as the primary threat to Greene's value. Greene's lack of quickness and receiving ability puts a pretty low cap on his ceiling, while Sankey's presence means the veteran also has a low floor. According to The Tennessean, the Titans are happy with Sankey's running and receiving, but worried about the rookie's propensity for fumbling in practice. Greene will very likely enter Week 1 as the starter, but his job security is poor.

Greene (knee) practiced Monday, The Tennessean reports.

Greene left Friday's preseason contest after slightly injuring his right knee, which he underwent surgery on this offseason. However, judging by Greene's comments since the game, coupled with his participation in Monday's practice, the veteran running back appears to be fine health-wise. Nonetheless, with rookie Bishop Sankey around and Dexter McCluster also expected to receive touches out of the backfield, Greene's role should remain limited to mostly short-yard work.

Greene said after Friday's preseason game that he hyperextended his right knee, adding that he expects to be okay, the Tennessean's Jim Wyatt reports.

Though he expects to be okay, Greene did injure the same knee that he had surgery on during the offseason. His reaction to the injury indicated that it wasn't all that serious, but the context is cause for added concern. The plodding veteran is trying to hold off rookie Bishop Sankey, who already figures to handle a good portion of the work on passing downs.

Greene walked off the field under his own power, and then stuck around on the sidelines, indicating that the injury isn't too serious. Still, he figures to face heat from Bishop Sankey, and it won't help the veteran's cause if his knee is a lingering issue.

Greene left Friday's preseason game against the Saints with an apparent right leg injury, Terry McCormick of TitanInsider.com reports.

Greene fumbled after a shot from safety Kenny Vaccaro and stayed down for a bit initially, but he eventually walked off the field under his own power. The 28-year-old had his right knee operated on in the offseason. Prior to exiting, Greene carried the ball nine times for 51 yards (5.7 YPC).

Greene (knee) had four carries for 20 yards and a touchdown in Tennessee's preseason opener against Green Bay on Saturday.

Greene, who's still working his way back to full strength following offseason knee surgery, saved his best attempt for last, finding a seam and scampering 13 yards untouched for the score. Despite the encouraging performance, it's hard to get too excited about Greene's fantasy prospects this season due to the presence of talented rookie Bishop Sankey, as well as the arrival of Dexter McCluster.
